This was Prince letting us into his full world, not just the music he wanted to share, but all of his greatness, and we should all be so thankful he did. I have seen so many amazing artists over my 50 years - Prince is the one I will always regret not seeing.
Every famous guitarist knew how good he was example Interviewer - Eric Clapton how does it feel to be the greatest guitarist in the world? EC- I don't know you'd have to ask Prince
That solo is not even close to his greatest solo. Listen Just My Imagination from 1988. He’s playing a club after his stadium show. He is bananas on lead rock guitar that night. He was so daring, wild and imaginative back then.
At any given time, in EVERY era, he dropped at least one wild, dope guitar moment... Just so happened the RHOF pulled all that into focus. The "Just My Imagination" bootleg is actually the first one I ever bought of him...
@LamarSowellBDApocalypse do you think his rock guitar got better over time? I'm asking because my assessment is that he was super imaginative and aggressive up until 1994/95. His rock playing wasn't the same after. What are your thoughts?
@@jaydeepbhadra I think his presentation of it, the ethos changed. By 95, he was doing big shows without an album and then countless club shows. He fronted in media, but he listened to A LOT of music. He loved Living Colour, probably started using Whammy pedal cuz of nu-metal. And he would use these effects and techniques and incorporate them into his music quickly and SEAMLESSLY! How can "I'm Yours" "Bambi" "Let's Go Crazy" have NOT convinced folks that he had "rock" guitar down from the get-go! Totally weird, this surprise.
They didn't put a light on him you couldn't see him. That's why i think he was pissed ripped the solo threw his guitar and walked off.. Plus of you watch George Harrison's son, you'll be able to read into it😊
It was Brilliant!!😎

I get chills every time I watch this when Prince starts his solo.
I like watching Dhani's Harrisons reactions to the solo.

Prince doesn't play the guitar. Prince "IS" the guitar!
The guitar throw was a dick move though.
@raygunn1083 why is it a dick move? Prince is known for tossing his guitar
At that time it was EPIC. Today - yeah won't go down too well, but it was then.
@@PIXbyGrant exactly....
The greatest F U moment in music history. The dick move was on Rolling Stone.
Is that not his own guitar tho i dont see a problem with it if he owned it
