- Learn how to get a luma temtem! Lumas are Temtem's equivalent of shiny pokemon. This video is the most comprehensive guide to efficiently hunting and catching your very own shiny luma temtem. I take you step-by-step on how to prepare for your luma hunt and essentially guarantee catching any luma you encounter using what I call "the bait and wait method". This guide helps prevent you from running out of cards or whiting out and failing to catch your luma temtem.

If you're hunting for luma ganki, nessla, akranox, or azuroc, be careful. These untamed temtem can hurt themselves and sometimes their teammates using their own moves. They may faint themselves even if you use the bait and wait method of luma hunting. For these temtem, I would skip the waiting. Just cage hypnotize them right away and start chucking a lot of temcard+s at them!

I got really lucky and encountered a luma paharo within the first 30 minutes of playing. I’m loving this game but I really wish there was fast travelling between temporium’s because it gets really annoying having to run through all the routes and stocking up on lots of scent to do side missions or TV train temtem. I feel like that’s the games biggest weakness and hopefully they add fast travel in (at least to temporium’s)
Nice! Luma paharo is super pretty. I suggest using smokebombs for fast travel. They're going to add mounts eventually that allow for faster travel

This remembers me the False Swipe Method to cath Pokémon. False Swipe is a move that let the Pokémon with just 1 HP. With a status condition it's almost a guaranteed catch. I used to have a Scyter on my Pokémon Gold team just to do the catch job.
Having false swipes in this game sure would be handy. The bait and wait is all we have for now ^^'
Some temtem have abilities that cause some hp to be sacrificed... I've had temtem suicide on me like that, but for the most part not hitting temtems guarantees that they wont kill themself. It seems like AI doesnt take hp cost of abilities in consideration when determining if they can use a skill without killing themself :P

I have been trying to get a luma Tateru since I started playing. My friends keep telling me I'm wasting my time because they "have no use" but I don't care. Tateru is absolutely adorable and I want it!
That's up to you to determine if it's worth it! Tbh, luma hunting is a waste of time, but lumas tho. I've definitely toned down my luma hunting since this video

What part of the story are you at now? Have you tried getting ganki radars?
You maybe need to calibrate your voice and music a little, but overwise, that's a good video !

I only have a random Luma Mudrid that I found randomly while doing the story line(I evolved it). I'm hunting for a Spriole but gosh it takes so long to Luma hunt! -w-

Good video, didn't actually know it couldn't knock itself out if you don't damage it that round. Had my first luma goty KO itself after i got it to just under half. lol Felt bad, but I did find a 2nd one in saipark so was able to capture that one. :)

Good question! I usually watch youtube or a stream on another monitor! If you don't have another monitor, you can try TV or an audiobook :)
i spent a hour in spipark without see a luma once.
If you want to luma hunt, expect to be there for about 20 hours before you see a luma. Otherwise you're just going to get frustrated you aren't seeing one yet
Can I bind a button to automatically use temcards just like the run command?
No, but you can bind the bag command to something like e and then if the card was the last thing you used, you can just press e then f easily

You're in luck! Goty is in the saipark until the end of the week! So long as you're in the park, you're good. I'm planning on putting out a video this thursday on where to hunt and where not to hunt!

Once you complete the tucma story you'll be able to go back and hunt for kinu! Good luck! Kinu is really hard to get x.x

Luma ganki is really pretty! I almost changed my clothes just to match mine lol. I almost never use it though :S Your best bet is to rematch sophia and hope for a ganki radar!
Do you have any more information on the exact ratios and how they change after each encounter you run away from.
If I'm not able to run a full session luma hunting. Will the chain break if I'm off for a few hours?
If you're talking about radars, no the chain won't break from inactivity or logging out :)
@@Millarz just over all , radars or just regular luma hunting. I ask cause I dont have a lot of time to just sit and luma hunt all day. I was worried if I start a hunt and dont finish will it break my chain. Thx for responding also.

Excellent video, thank you so much for all the tips and tricks. If I may suggest, can you turn down the volume of the song in the background next time? Not everyone playing the game is native or even fluent in English and trying to discern what you're saying with the song so loud behind you was a bit hard at times.

Thanks! It's because it takes longer to defeat them than it does to run away, so you end up encountering less temtem. Encountering less temtem means you have less of a chance to find a luma

Hi. I'm a shiny hunter from Pokémon. I also play Monster Hunter Stories (a Pokémon-like game) and I wanted to know if Temtem is worth buying. I also would like to know if you have Discord so we can chat about our hunts.
If you like shiny hunting in pokemon you'll like luma hunting in temtem! I find luma hunting better than shiny hunting since you can actually show off your luma to people in game. Plus everyone knows you didn't hack the luma in unlike in pokemon. I do have a discord, though I'm quite introverted so I prefer saving chatting for my weekly streams ^^' I do still participate in the discord though and other people are regulars there as well. discord.gg/UyauTDH

Do I boost my chances after beating the game just like Pokémon? I mean do I get something like a shiny charm?

What is the trapping for?
The trapped condition boosts the capture rate of temtem!

Also most people kill luma because they are stupid and attack it.

ahh yeah I've ran away from a luma ganki before x.x It felt horrible. I ran before I even saw the encounter. Luckily I found another luma ganki 2 hours later
