I found keeping busy helped keeo my mind away from dwelling on my grief. Also don't be afraid of letting out the grief if you feel it building up, don't suppress it let it out.....

Glad you got to spend a little time with your dad. We all know its part of life, but the loss is real. Since the loss of my parents (separately, and naturally,) I have followed this adage. Let those you care about know you care. Sounds simple, but hard to do sometimes. You know what....it actually helps.

I just recently lost my father back in Feburary of this year, and it's still very fresh, and not something you get over, or get used to, you just keep moving along and try to live with the fact that you'll never get to see or talk to them again, and it's... it's really something. It took me a good while to even pick up my drones again, and it's still not the same. Drones was one of the things I wanted to share with him before he was unfairly taken away.... I wish you and your fam all the best Steve. You are doing the right thing, being where you are. Stay strong.

My condolence for the loss of your father. What a worthy goodbye video that was, standing at the window of your childhood, and mentioning you father. That was really gentle and nice. As for the range test: The limited range was probably due to the fact you were standing near homes and trees. I just sent my drone 2.5 KM out to the sea, standing on the beach, and had no communication problem doing so. Moreover: it was previously tested and shown that although the the RC Pro does allow for longer range than the RC does, but that really comes down to an extra 100-200 meters.
I have been wanting to go back to my childhood home and get a similar video. My father passed away and I have some good memories. Thanks for the video and inspiration. You will remain in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.

Second, I would like to thank you for being an indomitable force in teaching me how to drone, I've been "Droning On" since 2013. Most of my first drones were purchased after watching your vids! THANKS A BUNCH! I do have a new request of you, and I understand you lead a busy life, but this one is right up your alley! I just recieved my new DJI Integra Goggles and Motion 2 controller for my Mini 3 Pro, and OMG,, I literally spent 2 days trying to update and pair up these devices to either my phone and or my tablet. It's a NIGHTMARE! could you please help shine some light on this for others of our ilk? (P.S. I'm really not an idiot here either, 35 yrs as a Computer/Network Eng.)
Mitch, thank you for the kind words. I have not had time to try out goggles, motion controller, mini 3. My guess would be to go into the goggle menu of the goggles and set it to mini/MAVIC. Then bind motion controller to drone (hold power button), then connect goggles to DJI fly app. This is all a guess without having tried it.
I love watching your videos and have been watching them ever since I got into drones back in the Hubsan 501s days. I upgraded to the Dji drones for a short time and now fly only fpv drones. Your videos are very informative and in my opinion one of the best ways to get info on and about a product. I'm sorry to hear about your father and hope you and your family take the time to deal with and heal from the loss of your father. We all understand and hope to see you back posting multiple videos a week again when the time is right for you. Have a great summer and thanks for all you do.

It told you to adjust antennas - did you? I know that this RC has internal antennas (I have one), and changing the tilt of the RC is effectively adjusting the antennas. I flew mine about 3.4km away when it suddenly went from full reception to low, and noted to adjust antennas. I was deliberately holding it at an angle where the top of the RC pointed to the drone. I thought that's where the antennas transmitted best. I was wrong. When I tilted the RC back, and pointed the top to the sky (straight up), the RC reception went straight back to full. I flew my Mini 3 Pro with DJI RC 3.7km and back, on full reception and perfect video transmission, along the beach. I think it might make it to 5km in the same location.

Not enough can be said that will erase the pain the we feel when we loose a loved one and especially so when it is a parent. I know from my own experience of loosing both my parents that there were times when I simply felt lost. Only time and the remembrance of the many great experiences I had with my parents got me through it. Praying for you Steve and for your family.

The dji RC is just known to be so much more lousy then rc n1

In most countries the maximum altitude to fly a drone is 120 m above the ground - with the rise of the hill (mountain), you could have flown higher.
