    There is a rhythm for the reason, if course this is not a Charger, but it is an attractive 2 door coupe with rear leg room that many other manufacturers have, yes the GT is 6 cylinder but that leads to better gas mileage and better power control in the snow and ice. I am convinced this car is evolutionary in that it's a muscle car for icy regions. I would prefer to ride in a iconic Challenger in the snow as opposed to a grandpa looking Suburu. I ordered one for my wife as a daily driver in Nebraska as I can't see buying a muscle car and keeping it garages parked for the correct time of the year to drive it. I just ordered one last week and getting rid of our front wheel drive Honda Civic turning because I had to take her to work yesterday in my 4 wheel drive because the Honda could not handle it. Hopefully my wife's new Challenger will be here by the weekend, she complains about her hands freezing but no more with the heated stearing wheel..I am excited for her. The car is beautiful and useful in Nebraska.
    Proud to say, I am John Branham and proud to own a Dodge Challenger GT, octane red.

    Great review! I feel its one of the few reviews that isn't actually trashing the car!

      Yea I always hate when reviewers always trashing cars that there reviewing. They talk like they can design a vehicle better then the experts

    A little disappointed there is no other wheel options or engine options. Great review, thanks.

    I wasn't expecting such a favorable review. Won't do me much good in SoCal but hopefully we'll see an AWD w/ a V8 and the boys at GM & Ford will follow by example.

    Great decision by FCA to market the popular Challenger with an AWD system. The Charger AWD, now limited to the same 6 cyl engine as the Challenger in that version, is heavier and bulkier. I think the Challenger AWD is a unique blend of performance, style and utility, not to mention value (the AWD GT is selling for approximately $30,000 in my area). It gives consumers who live in areas commonly hit with ice and snow during the Winter months an opportunity to drive year-around without concern. Plus you get decent gas mileage (my '16 SXT Plus averages 24mpg, city and highway).

    Would be more interested if the V6 had a turbo. It would help justify the price and lets say for fun 400hp/400tq would probably motivate more buyers.

    2:22 says the man who has Bridgestone Blizzaks on his truck. I wonder how much the Blizzaks would be per tire.

  • @concepts6581
    @concepts6581 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The problem is the price tag, for a couple of extra $$$ you can get the underrated R/T and do 0-60 in 5.1 seconds or better.

      Not everyone wants 0-60 in 5.1 I do tho lol but wouldn’t turn down a sxt v6 if it’s all I could afford

      Concepts except when it snows and you crash because you are in a 2w car in the snow.

    • @michaelramsey82
      @michaelramsey82 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The whole point of the AWD is that you can drive it in the snow without spinning out or gettng stuck. All the horsepower in the world is utterly useless if there's no traction. The R/T and the GT have different target audiences, so you really can't compare them directly.

    @sergh8605 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for the review. Btw. Do you think that they put the V6 because the v8 won't fit with the awd? or just make sense to have a v6 with awd?

    • @JakeDrives1
      @JakeDrives1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      sergh8605 V8 with AWD was previously offered on the Charger and 300.. it was unfortunately discontinued due to lack of sales.

    Great Review Steve. I think that they should have made this available with a v8 and AWD. This would have made more sense IMHO

      canonlybeme4life not considering the v6 is the best selling but this may open the door for v8 awd

  • @benhaze1010
    @benhaze1010 8 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    To me the Challenger V6 AWD has far less appeal than the Charger or 300 AWD and I don't see potential customers for a V6 AWD car going for a Challenger. I wish FCA would spend its limited R&D budget on developing a Hemi AWD with the fantastic 8-speed auto.

      Actually Dodge said their best selling Challenger trim is the V6, so it’s not surprising if they had to pick 1 configuration to give AWD to it’d be the V6 since it will reach more potential customers

      Yep I find it ridiculous myself at how much they priced their cars with the AWD system knowing how Chrysler fiat use the lowest bidder when it comes into their parts.

    • @michaelramsey82

      The Challenger weighs nearly 2 tons normally, even in 2wd form. The Hellcat weighs about 4,500 lbs. It's a big car.
