Hey Matt! So when the Challenger came out about 10 (almost 11) years ago, I saw one in a magazine and fell in love with it. It was exactly the kind of car that I wanted to be made. It was basically a modernized muscle car with an old school look. So I began saving up for one ( I was in middle school when I started saving). It took a long time and a lot of work, BUT I finally saved up for one. Then, I began my research on which one to get. Then I realized that a lot of these were RWD. I'm from the Northeast and we get some nasty weather here. However, I need to be able to get to work when I'm called in regardless of the weather. This video answered all the questions I had and I eventually went and got myself one. I LOVE IT LIKE IT WAS MY FIRST BORN CHILD. Blindspot sensors, sunroof, leather/suede interior, Alpine sound system, heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel, and despite the fact that it's "just a v6" it's damn fast. Anyway, just wanted to say great video and keep it up!
4 years since you published your great review, and 1 year since I bought 2020 GT AWD, I just can fully agree with you. Stylish, roomy, comfortable, not that slow in fact, good mileage as well - simply great cruiser. AWD works well for winter roads. And, not bad sound for V6 too, at least for my ears. Greetings from the heart of Europe
it pains me reading these comments, this is meant for winter, yes its a bit taller....why? cause its meant for states that get more snow and ice...good lord man lol
My girl has a 300 with the 3.6 and i had a rental challenger 3.6...... and tbh..... it really does pull hard up top..... coming from a ex lt1 vette owner. Also what really surprised me, on on and off ramps, the car handles itself much better than you could ever expect. Extremely competent. If your still driving relatively average cars from like 2005 and before, despite how it stacks up to current models, you will leave the test drive with a huge smile on your face.
All these people crying because it's not a V8 lol. You've got like 4 other versions of this car that all have V8s so why are you bitching? The car still has over 300hp which isn't bad considering the fact that if you're buying an AWD version then chances are you're after traction due to the weather where you live. So having a V6 with lower hp, and AWD is what you're after.
Capt Flea Especially with the fact that there is a supercharger kit available for the v6 challengers, there really shouldn't be any bitching. You CAN get V8 numbers with AWD with this car. I see the potential in this car and I plan to exploit that potential when I get the money for it.
And if you live in a snowy place there is plenty of power for hours of drifting , sideways fun. I bet this car with blizzaks or other hi po sno tire is more fun then driving a v 8 to work or other mundane stuff most people do in their cars mixed with a few power pulls here and there. Not a car for everybody but i can see why some people would want it.

They're buying it to drive ''mostly'' sensibly but still want a car than can still be fun if you felt like it. I could've gotten the V8 but still opted for a V6 GT AWD because I wanted to drive the car, not get pulled over every ten miles. Plus with all the theft of the Hemi's going on right now...kinda glad I did.

I absolutely love the way they look, but with all due respect to all V6 owners, the V6 it self should never exist in challenger as challenger's greatest popularity came with greatest engines. I don't hate V6, i just don't think they belong into muscle cars..... Now Dodge, please build me that HEMI AWD please please please
Back in 1970s the Challengers with the 318 V8 didn't have 300 hp, from the factory, so the V6 has more muscle then the old V8s. If I could afford one I would have one!

I've had this car since Feb. and I can say I give it a rating of 9 0ut of 10. I had it on the hwy in Feb/March with snowy icy roads and it handled great. It is my everyday car and the V6 gives me 1. Gas mileage. 2. Lower insurance. What would the 392 give me? 1. 2 extra seconds from 0-60. Not really worth it. a HEMI will also up the cost to $45,000.
I really do like this car, I do kinda wish it had a v8, like the 5.7l but overall I really like it. Everyone is complaining about the engine but it's fine, not great, but fine
I don't want/expect to own an exotic flashy European car; I just want /need a beautiful and real muscle American car like this. I love America in many ways and this is one. thank yuo for this great review. Keep doing flat out.
The pony car class became defined by the Mustang, its namesake model. Pony cars are stylish, affordable, American cars that were generally built with mass production parts. They have two doors, four seats, and are “performance-oriented”, if not flat-out sporty.Jun 26, 2017 The term pony car is used to refer to sporty compact cars that are usually fitted with a small-block V8 engine or sometimes even a V6 engine. Muscle cars, on the other hand, are more muscular and bigger than pony cars. They usually have a big-block V8 under their hood.Jul 3, 2020 Very good car 😊
I bought a 2019 Challenger GT in Oct. 2020 with under 3000 miles. Had navigation, blind spot monitoring, uograded Alpine stereo. Paid $28,000. It's not super fast but looks great. Color is Go Mango.
Me too - if the smaller V8 option would have meant I could have my "muscle car" and not have to get a winter car or spend $2500 for winter wheels/tires.
Misvnderstood III I am actually thinking of getting that Supercharger kit. But for now, keep it stock while its on warranty... and if they Dodge think of putting a V8, Ill get it in a heartbeat.
Hi Matt. Hope all is well. I Love watching your videos. I have a 2019 Dodge Challenger 3.6 liter V-6. (2WD) I installed a K & N Airfilter in mine. I attained 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds at 1,100 feet above sea level. The car seems to have a little more horsepower. 0-60 in 6.3 seconds with AWD seems about right. Enjoy the day sir. Great videos. Take care :-) Antony
I'm a Scat owner so very biased to the V8. With that being said I won't and can't hate on this car because it serves a specific market and I see them everywhere here in ND so obviously theyre a good sell. I just wonder what if dodge came back with the small v8 Magnum they had in the 2000s Dakotas/Durango maybe it would fit and still provide that sound but why bother, the v6 has over 300hp anyways.
Very accurate review. I've had it exactly a month and put on about 2300 miles. The sad part is tomorrow it is going into the shop for the FOURTH time. The Uconnect unit has been replaced and the center instrument cluster keeps failing. I want to love this car but right now I hate it because of the reliability issues. For $38k I expected better.
And here we go with the v8 comments as usual saying its not a muscle car or doesnt fall in that category did u guys forget that back in the days there was the grand national v6 turbo and was eating big v8s me personally since i leave in a 4 season state i would preffered this trim leave instead of paying extra for the v8 that ill have to put up in the winter time n watch it collect dust.
V6 has 8HP45 transmission i believe, and the N/a Hemi's use the 8HP70 transmission, little more agressive and can handle more torque. Great review Matt!
6.3 seconds is rather admirable considering weight and these are automatic. Curious about the Pentastar durability and transmission with a turbo installed after warranty runs out.
A baseball bat and lotion are interesting things to keep in your cars. Anyway, kudos to Dodge for building a car like this, but wonder why they didn't at least put the Hemi in it. I guess there isn't enough room. I love that ZF transmission and have wondered why GM doesn't strike a deal with them to replace their slush box 8 speed. I wanted an auto in my Gen 6 SS, but went with a stick because of the slow shifts.
For people that can’t see this car is for people that love the looks An for places with snow An better gas mileage but at the same time It also doesn’t have to have a thousand horsepower to be fun An actually awd catches traction way better An easier you add some bolt on parts an make 500+ horsepower an it’s still cheaper an you can say it’s built not bought
AWD challenger doesn't have V8 option, or manual option. The only reason to get this is to have a cool family car (at least in my family). My dad drives a 2018 Z06 manual, I drive a 2012 Mustang GT manual, my mom drives a 2005 convertible corvette (auto unfortunately), and our family car is this AWD challenger. We need the AWD because we live up in MT and it shows for 7 months of the year. It's not a bad car if you use it for what it's intended. Isn't nearly as fast as any of our other cars though
You did not change the Staring will and put it in sports mode I have a 2017 V6 challenger and it is fast enough to get you in trouble Yes it is a V-6 it has the eight speed transmission in sports mode it’s fast enough for me 305 Horse power is not slow
i cant w8 for next challenger gen, rumors say it will be on giulia quadrifoglio ram so probably we will get more sporty steering and closer to current mustang well i think it will be blast if they lower mass and make it a little smaller and also sell in europe like ford did with mustang (which was and is still a big succes)
Matt, slow the hell down when you talk. I was getting a headache after 10 minutes of listening to you. I am glad someone has reviewed the AWD version, btw, thanks.
I wish ford and chevy would make AWD versions of their muscle cars. I LOVE mustangs, but even if i had the money to spend on one, I’d never even consider it for a second because of all the snow colorado gets.
Comparing the 0-60 and 1/4 mile with this car compared to the si makes the si even better with a cheaper option and same power, better gas mileage and etc.
I live in Chicago and the snow days are harsh still not confident or sure if this car will workout. Can't find too many reviews on how they drive on snow.
300+ HP, room for 4 adults, weather proof and not limited by snow and ice, 25mpg on the highway, and zero-to-the-speed-limit in just a couple of seconds less than the Hellcat? All for under $30k? I'll buy.

That thing is HUGE!
Yeah, we read your first post..STFU already
NO, fanboy. I have a new hobby - trashing this car anywhere and everywhere since Chrysler won't buy back this POS.
Better a fan boy than being a whiny boy. Not an admirable trait for a man.
Wrong. Fanboys contribute nothing. Challengers suck :P
if you enjoy this, wait til u see the 2020 Challenger GT. Had one come in today and lemme tell ya, its somethin alright.
Everyday Muscle Matt is the best!
6.3 seconds is rather admirable considering weight and these are automatic. Curious about the Pentastar durability and transmission with a turbo installed after warranty runs out.
27Zangle My mom's Acura RDX which is a suv has a faster 0-60 time lul
Best into! I get so pumped and I'm 30.
Eric N they did that on a v6 because its the most popular engine that people buy. Im hoping they they make a hemi for it.
are you implying he puts the lubed up bat in something?
For people that can’t see this car is for people that love the looks An for places with snow An better gas mileage but at the same time It also doesn’t have to have a thousand horsepower to be fun An actually awd catches traction way better An easier you add some bolt on parts an make 500+ horsepower an it’s still cheaper an you can say it’s built not bought
300+hp awd automatic daily driver
Hell yes ❤
Ummm we letting that baseballs bat slide? 🤣 lmao
That baseball bat is the newest feature of the Challenger GT 😂
clyde relativo lol!!! Leche! 😂😂😂
Baseball bat next to the front seat.. lol gotta be prepared for an upcoming ball game!
That wheel gap 😕
Reef D yeah... in all Challengers. This GT is an inch higher than others.
Iam_Herald that's rough...nice wrx btw
Reef D I know. But it will help me when the snow comes. Then, my STI got totaled... someone hit me during snow last Dec. 😭😭😭
Albert S. Stop saying this lol
Will not rub. Good.
I love challengers!! Great review as always
Alannah Erskine minus all the bat comments
so a 2005 mustang gt ! wipes the floor with this big tractor . cool :)
llamaloka and a 70 challenger would turn that pony into a donkey
Bro carries a bat next to his seat 😂😂😂
great video please do a review on a challenger T/A 392
i cant w8 for next challenger gen, rumors say it will be on giulia quadrifoglio ram so probably we will get more sporty steering and closer to current mustang
well i think it will be blast if they lower mass and make it a little smaller and also sell in europe like ford did with mustang (which was and is still a big succes)
mar-v-son i want to see a v8 awd for challenger. But it would be nice if that rumors are real. :)
Holy moly, thats a big car
Great review. Thank you.
Are people forgetting that the charger was once available with a v8 and awd?
Matt, slow the hell down when you talk. I was getting a headache after 10 minutes of listening to you. I am glad someone has reviewed the AWD version, btw, thanks.
I wish ford and chevy would make AWD versions of their muscle cars. I LOVE mustangs, but even if i had the money to spend on one, I’d never even consider it for a second because of all the snow colorado gets.
Comparing the 0-60 and 1/4 mile with this car compared to the si makes the si even better with a cheaper option and same power, better gas mileage and etc.
Love Challenger, love Dodge.
Of course it has more back seat room -- it's a big ass car
Kevin Garrett lol true
*Opens center console* bottle of lotion "I know what I'm about, son."
Ok I got one guys and let me tell you best car purchase ever!!! I dedicated a series to my GT challenger!!!! I LOVE I T
That can potentially be a awesome platform... twin turbskys, awd... I bet you could disappoint some v8s
I live in Chicago and the snow days are harsh still not confident or sure if this car will workout. Can't find too many reviews on how they drive on snow.
Just put some performance suspension bits, tune, intake and header and it could turn into a decent performer.
I love this car so much ❤️
New Jersey plates and has a baseball bat next to the driver seat...Yeah this driver must suffer from some serious road rage lol
Do a charger review!!
Did anyone see the base ball bat???
Damn man its look like u love every car u put it in ur show...!!! Hahaha can't believe 😂
Really nice looking car.
