Let me get this straight. AK calls for 275. Hellmuth with AA raises to 1700 and the commentator here suggests shoving all in with AK and how that would make sense... "as a back jam"...for 27,400. When he only has 275 invested in the pot at this time. Dont listen to ANYTHING this guy has to say if you value your money at all. You only win if your opponent has air and folds. And that was HELLMUTH. He doesnt play that way at all. Ever. So at best you are flipping for 27,400 and more often than not you are beat.

There is zero chance this wasn't an angle on purpose, matusow has way way too much experience to do this on accident. I still think hellmuth may have folded on purpose because he knew how bad this was, and after the hand he also doesn't mention matusow mentioning the spades. With his experience hellmuth would know to snap call on that info. Then just add in Nik being so freaking stupid he's high fiving a guy that just tried to cheat to help hellmuth steal from him.

I think you may be right about Phil here. Once he heard the info from Mike, he couldn't un-hear it, but he also couldn't then make the call, since it would totally look like collusion. If that's the case, good on him for making the right ethical decision for the good of the game - and his reputation.
@@analogmike1534 If anything, Phil made the fold not for ethical reasons, but for his own selfish reasons. He didn't want it to look like he was colluding with Mike so he folded anyway.
Phil was listening when Mike said what he said. Just look at his body language and his face slump when Mike says it, then swiftly folds. His anger after the hand wasn't even really directed at the bluffer, he spends a good portion of the rant telling Mike to shut up.
I'm laughing at the comments about the hand reveals. These guys have been playing each other long enough not to believe anything anyone says at the table about any hand they haven't shown. It's bad play at an open table but as Phil clearly pointed out it's invite only. What you're seeing is how friends play poker. Never miss an opportunity to poke fun at your friend's loss, knowing full well they'll return the favour when it's your turn to take the hit. It keeps everyone humble, well everyone except Phil.
If I were in Nick's spot I'd have called the floor and asked them to give Mike a penalty. He's not new to the game, he knows full well that you're not allowed to say that kinda shit in the middle of a big spot.
I remember Mike ripping Sean Shakan (Sheiky) for slapping the table during a flop in hand he was not in. Signaling he had part of the flop was giving information.
They fold 74o at your tables? Where do I find those games? 74o always calls my raise when I have AA AK or AQ and makes a boat on the flop. Most people don't know how to play poker worth a damn. Call a 10x pre-flop raise with two shit cards and suck out. I wish I could only play with pros.
Once you get in enough preflop with Aces, don't fold post-flop. I think the number is around 14 big blinds. Anything above that, you can get it on every flop and your opponent literally cannot outflop you often enough to profit. A few big blinds more than that, and you don't have to fold even all the way to the river. I don't know how much Hellmuth had back here, but huge preflop pots do a fantastic job of protecting Aces.
I don't understand why Polk (he is probably right, no doubt) says Phil should jam after the turn with his remaining $8,500. With an ace high flush draw with no pairs plus two over cards (all within Polk's range of Nick), Nick for sure calls $8,500 into now a $17,000 pot. He isn't getting Nick out regardless. Now after the river card, Phil has position. If Nick checks, Phil can showdown or bet. In this case, Nick goes all in which is no different than after the turn if Phil was supposed to shove after the turn anyways. It actually seems better that Nick shoves now because he if has nothing, often times it is a good opportunity to bluff at the pot. Coin flip decision I guess.
There were so many shady and ridiculous things that happened in this stream that you could make 5 videos from the night. I wonder if Hellmuth picks up on what Mikey says and ends up calling what the eventual outcome would be? I have to imagine he’d be shamed into splitting the pot or something. Absolutely absurd to come from someone who’s been playing 20+ years...so much so you have to wonder if it’s an attempt at helping Phil out or if he’s just that spaced out.
While Matusow didn't need to make the remark, Hellmuth had no business showing his cards to anybody while the hand was active. For someone like Matusow that's practically begging him to say something like "I knew you had aces." Phil brought that on himself.
You got love Helmuth getting all that elbow room while the remaining seven players are crowded around the rest of the table? I guess he needs extra room for his ego and the steam coming out of his ears when he loses.
Interesting idea - perhaps Phil bets large on the flop because there is a fairly high chance opponent has a suited ace, and he wants to charge that hand. Middle pairs aren't going to pay up much more than a flop c-bet, and suited connectors of spades will pay up especially thse containing a 6.
all these pros collude. they pretend they hate each other but they are always either dumping chips to each other in tournaments and acting like they hate each other, or like this at 9:40, where Matusow tells Hellmuth he had a flush thus letting Phil know he had 2 spades and thus Nick having a flush was less likely. This was also the case where Matusow had a "fight" with Shawn Shekhan. Shawn slammed his fist on the table when he saw the ace on the flop. he was giving a false tell to the opponent signaling the he "had" an ace and thus the likelihood of Mike having an Ace (which he did) was less likely. Vegas card players, pros.. a lot of collusion there.
Mike at no time said that he knew he had all aces! Hellmuth said it and the dude just agreed...but, he did not ever tell anyone where the aces were. Why the hell would Hellmuth show his hand to his enemies? That's just stupid.
Phil now plays like he is scared to lose. He keeps allowing players to push him around bc everyone knows he wont put it all in unless he has the stone cold nuts
Remember, Matusow is staked by Phil. Phil showing Mike the aces and Mike stating that he folded a flush is about as close to blatant cheating as you could get. I wonder if Phil recognized that and folded as a result. In the big picture, the amount of money in that pot was nothing. I think Mike Matusow knew exactly what he had just done, but Phil realized that his reputation was worth a lot more than a couple grand. Mike Matusow on the other hand would trade his reputation for a cheeseburger and a swisher sweet cigar.
Played at a table one time and out played an older gentleman at the table for a hand. He was obviously sour about this so he decided that he was going to talk during all of my hands and tell the other players what he felt I had. I let it go on for a bit because he wasn't even close to being right, but then I started to get annoyed. Entered a very large hand where I was bluffing and he correctly pointed it out. I kept my composure until the end of the hand and then told him he if he opened his fat fucking face again, I would be glad to close it for him. He probably had a 100 pounds on me but whatever. He stood up and before he could completely stand up, I was up and within arms length of him which put him off guard. Starting stuttering saying it was no big deal and that I should calm down. Pit boss came over and put an end to it.
That's the tamest Hellmuth blow up I've ever seen, honestly I'd have been more pissed being either of the guys in the next hand while the whole table is still babbling about the last one, but I guess this is a bit more laid back since they are pretty chatty the whole time.
I think the better answer is Phil knew he had to fold after matusow angled him the spades info to not look like they both are lowlife cheaters. Matusow is a scumbag but Phil can't risk losing his credibility. Phil was steaming at mikes blatant cheating which put him in a bad spot.
For some reason I actually kinda like Phil, but can't stand Mike. I've been thinking about why that is for years, but I still can't come up with an answer 😄
Mike is lucky Nick is a chilled out guy. I would've lost my shit right then had he pulled that shit at my table. He would've needed his little scooter after I was finished with him for such a horrible violation of table ethics. 🤣 Seriously though, that was bullshit. He could've screwed Nick. The floor would've given me my loss from his stack or something would've happened had Phil called.
What Mike did was actually an open attempt to help Phil and everyone should have called him out on it. There would have been a major issue had Phil called but it was disgusting regardless. Back in old West days, both Phil & Mike would have faced some very serious consequences for such an obvious attempt to cheat. Everyone know's, full well, that they are very close friends.

Phil is backing Mike so maybe they’re playing together? That was a really shady comment, letting Phil know that’s 2 less outs.
I don’t think mike said that in efforts to collude. I think he just couldn’t keep his mouth shut
6:55 "the turn comes a spade. So if either player had a flush draw they have made a flush." As always, great insight!
Lol I know it sounds silly, but they're basically pointing out what each player might be placing the other's range at and how it might've improved
That is why it’s called play by play.
If Phil Calls there cause of Mikes comment I think Mike should have to forfeit his stack to Nick. Thats just so far out of line.
Hey guys I'm announcing my hand over and over again, please talk to me
10:47 The Philmobile looks like a sick ride.
Just admit it poker is just better with these guys. Mike and Phil just classics.
you get ready to watch a hand and then this guy pauses and does a nanosecond by nanosecond play
fuck this guy
Just need Tony g in the mix
@@SambergUkraine And KidPoker :P
Does Mike say" I had Q9 of spades so I said it" at 12:40
I remember Mike ripping Sean Shakan (Sheiky) for slapping the table during a flop in hand he was not in. Signaling he had part of the flop was giving information.
Yeah, I remember that too. Matusow knew what he was doing.
What a rookie move showing his cards. Never ever show your opponent your cards. It only gives them information and doesn't help your cause at all.
U meant helmuth or nick?
Helmuth tryna farm reactions to win this round.
Nick going for the mental warfare
Matusow reminds me of the guys at 1/2 bemoaning how they folded 74o and would have made a boat
Lol.
They fold 74o at your tables? Where do I find those games? 74o always calls my raise when I have AA AK or AQ and makes a boat on the flop. Most people don't know how to play poker worth a damn. Call a 10x pre-flop raise with two shit cards and suck out. I wish I could only play with pros.
lololol
Once you get in enough preflop with Aces, don't fold post-flop. I think the number is around 14 big blinds. Anything above that, you can get it on every flop and your opponent literally cannot outflop you often enough to profit. A few big blinds more than that, and you don't have to fold even all the way to the river. I don't know how much Hellmuth had back here, but huge preflop pots do a fantastic job of protecting Aces.
"He must have thought the hand was over and folds." 🤣🤣🤣
Matusow is a hypocrite. He would have totally freaked if someone had done that to him.
Yeah especially considering how mad he got because he jokingly got slow rolled in a friendly game. He is such a hypocrite
As many have already stated, Mike likely did that immoral move because Phil is staking him.
can someone make an hour phil bad call rages please it brings me so much joy.
I totally agree 100% with your statement Doug , if you've run out of gas don't step out the car and start help pushing your opponents car!
Doug, I just can't get into your videos. No offence, but you talk more than we hear of what the players are saying. gl
13:27 - when they started mocking Phil with the "Honey he moved all in with Ace King!" line I lost it.
i checked comments just to have more fun about it xD priceless
If Phil called Nick would have slapped another part of Mikes anatomy.
Phil actually takes it pretty well.
I love how they’re morphing into the same person in looks 💁🏻♂️
As Doug said, there's nothing wrong with just being quiet........unless your nickname is "The Mouth."
Matusow telling him he made a flush should have made the call easy for Phil
You're all gonna learn a lot from Phil and look stupid, once trapping an opponent comes back into style in 2045.
all these pros collude. they pretend they hate each other but they are always either dumping chips to each other in tournaments and acting like they hate each other, or like this at 9:40, where Matusow tells Hellmuth he had a flush thus letting Phil know he had 2 spades and thus Nick having a flush was less likely.
Juanda: “I had trips”
Matusow: “I had Q9 of Spades”
Twips
Plot twist: Phil is playing music with those Beats by Dr. Dre
"Q 4 suited, one of Barry's better holdings that I've seen him with" lol I'm dead!!
You're absolutely right! Thank you for analysing the hand.
Any video that shows Phil losing this hard and being made fun of is 10/10 in my book!

Doug Polk is the greatest of all time and the best poker channel on TH-cam
smart of Nick not saying anything during the hand. Who knows if he would have been pissed @ Matusow had Phil called.
God help me I just love Phil, he's so damn entertaining, I'm sittin' here laughing, he kills me! LOL
For some reason I actually kinda like Phil, but can't stand Mike.
I've been thinking about why that is for years, but I still can't come up with an answer 😄
can i please have the link to the stream would like to watch this.
7:30 with subtitles: "it's much more likely that nigga actually as a hand" LOL
Kmillz TFT there are no subtitles my nigga

Mike is lucky Nick is a chilled out guy. I would've lost my shit right then had he pulled that shit at my table. He would've needed his little scooter after I was finished with him for such a horrible violation of table ethics. 🤣
Seriously though, that was bullshit. He could've screwed Nick. The floor would've given me my loss from his stack or something would've happened had Phil called.
Mike should be banned from the Bike for attempting you cheat and help Phil decide his move. I'm surprised the Bike didn't review this hand.
Watched this hand on LATB’s channel earlier today. Knew Vanessa would have something to say about this.
Don't title your video like that, they didnt even notice. This is a commentary, clickbaiting isn't nice
Phil and Mike are so self-absorbed that they don't notice when they act like complete fools
Actually, it is rather you who doesn't realise, that these guys been joking around for the past 10 years+ and just shittalk eachother for the content and fun..........so yea, you look very cringe as fuck with such a dumb comment, it just shows, you know absolutely nothing about these guys.
@@derek4177 I like them both, but godamm there is more then fuckin 30k $ on the table, and you say what you fold??
Mike Matusow is out of line....and should have been kicked out of the room...And there must be some other penalty imposed on such ignorant conduct.
You slammed your chips like you gave the pot away....
we're playing for a lot of money here
I like this guy Nick, he isnt daunted by Phil's ego. They need to televise these two together more often to balance Hellmuth's "talking" range.
I am sure this has been said but Nick totally looks like a thick David Cross. I'm not the only one who sees this right?
Matusow is such a pharken muppet. He can’t play poker and has been bankrupt so many times he needs others to stake him to play.
Do us all a favour - Retire Matusow..!!!!
