Not a manager or a supervisor but I witnessed this. Was working at a major airport for a car rental company that starts with a H. Guy stole a cell phone out of a customer's car after the customer accidentally left it behind. Customer comes back to try and find it stolen. Everyone is questioned. Me and another guy are talking to him before he is caught and I told him "All they have to do is call that number or trace it and they will find the guy who did this." As soon as I tell him this he has a worried look on his face and runs off. He's caught a few minutes later.
I remember, when I worked in the Co-Op, in the UK. My day off and my manager called and asked if I could come in. I didn't say no, but suggested I may not be in the right state. He asked if I was drunk, I told him I was a wee bit stoned. He brightened up, and said if I just had to re-stock the shop floor, would I come in. I did. He kept his promise.
About two / three hours in. I was sitting on a kick-stool , discounting refrigerated products that went out of date the next day. Something we did around two hours before closing, every night.
Suddenly. I had these two massive policemen standing over me, I was still sitting on my kick-step? Still pretty stoned. They looked down and asked 'Are you the man with the gun?' As I said, the UK. That's just not a thing. I, stuttering, in shock, asking what they meant.
They held out a couple of yoghurts and some cheese sandwiches. Asked if I had the scanner (gun) that could discount them, as they were dated for tomorrow.
I gave them 95% off. Best I could do. Cunts for traumatising me like that. Bawbags kent whit wis goane oane. Bit of Scots for you in the last sentence.
1:26:58 This is why I love trade jobs. Human error happens and usually your bosses have also gotten down and dirty doing the job so they end up having respect for the worker.
Pretty sure if an employee died on the floor due to asthma because the manager insisted everyone ignore it they'd be even MORE Liable.

I spent many years in the car business. A calm resolution is a very rare thing. There are still a lot of old school guys that want to fight everything out on the back lot.

I was working at a smoke shop in SC. We had a new guy from CA. He had been Working for about 2 weeks or so and wanted to go on break to smoke a cigarette. One of our regular customers who comes in for Kratom and vape juice. My coworker catches him before he gets into the store and asked the customer if he wanted some dabs(thc concentrates). The customer tells us the dude smoking on the bench offered him drugs.. he was swiftly fired ten minutes later after talking to the DM
For the second prompt (the one about “that one employee” getting fired) I have quite the story from the deli of a local grocery store. She was mean, short tempered, and lazy. She took longer breaks than she was supposed to and more breaks than she was allowed. One day she cussed at the assistant department manager and stormed out. She was initially fired, but begged her way back in with just a write up. Later, a coworker got fed up with her constant break habits and l talked to a store manager about it. She assumed I was the one who tattled on her, and got in my face about it. When I calmly told her that it was someone else (I didn’t say who, because I didn’t want to throw someone else under the bus) she said “it had better not, or we’re going to have a problem”. She got a second write up for that. Then, on the last Sunday before Christmas, it was just me and her working the deli. I’m running around helping customers while she works on an online shopping order, when she disappears into the back without saying a word. I assume that she had to get something from the back and don’t stop her. A few minutes turns into twenty and she hasn’t returned. I grab a coworker who was working on the back area of the deli, and once we get customer flow under control he tells me that Jessica said she had to use the restroom. I have to pee at this point anyway, so I offer to check if she’s still there. She isn’t, so I text the department manager to let her know what happened. A couple minutes later the store manager calls and asks if Jessica quit. My first instinct is to say yes, but I stop myself, I don’t want to let my personal bias affect the situation, so I tell him I don’t know, and explain what happened from my perspective. They end up firing her. The craziest part is that the next day she was scheduled to work, she tried to come in and work like nothing happened

"He wanted to feel what cats feel." I can actually kinda understand that. I shaved my head my first year of college because I wanted to know what it felt like to have short hair. And if I started at 4 inches long or whatever, I wouldn't know what hair shorter than that felt like. So I shaved it all so I could feel every length of shortness. Completely sober, but suffering from a bad case of spring fever, lol. Then it got cold again and I realized why men wear hats in the winter. Also, when my hair's short I look too much like a chubby guy with boobs.
