People need to realize that social media is not a diary. It is not a journal, and it is not always your friend….
Not to sound rude, but no one's really making you read it. I journal, but some stuff I just feel like sharing in case someone needs the recognition for how they feel. I have friends, but they don't know what happened to me growing up. Some people just don't know who to talk to or what to do. Although, journalling helped me get out of my psychotic loop. It really helps. Even if it's things you get shit for posting online, at least journalling no one's gonna look at and get mad. hoping no one snoops through your shit lol

Little Brother (11) was sick and in the hospital. Had 2 weeks off. I (14) knew details but I was not suppose to tell. His teacher asks me in the hallway. I say I don't know. He follows me and keeps asking. After 5 times he grabs me at the shoulder, leads me into an empty classroom, closes the door and sits me down.
Asks 6 more times before I tell. This was before smartphones.
I come home and it is on facebook.
I explain what happened, Dad grabs me and we drive to teachers house (small town). Teacher at his frontdoor explains he overheard me yelling it in the halls. Even if that was true it would still not be okay for him to post. Dad asks me if teacher just lied to his face. I say yes. Dad beats Teacher up, right then and there.
Cops show up, tell Dad not to do it again and arrests Teacher for endangering children.
Love you Dad, world used to be a better place.
i know someone who posted their professional license in FB to brag about passing. Years later, dude was surpsised someone used his name, made a fake passport and left the country using his identity with fake professional credentials. what a mor*n.

Yeah. Like, either leave them both alone or shun both. Why does one person have to bear the brunt of it if they both consented?
It’s not explicitly stated, but those kind of situations are commonly packaged deals. I highly doubt the husband is hanging out with the family and only the wife is shunned.
Also, they’re always gonna be more critical of the wife in the situation because she is the direct blood family.

I wouldn’t consider it over sharing but at the time of freshly escaping an abusive relationship, I took to social media and aired out the disgusting things my assailant did to me. While I didn’t detail every sickening thing, I described just enough to create a picture. It was both to speak my truth and help keep others protected since my assailant is a covert narcissist. I was fortunate to be met with support and to receive professional help thereafter, but the legal proceedings was exhausting.
I received justice in a way that felt good to me so most of everything was removed by choice. It was traumatising then but looking back now, I can only regret how embarrassed my assailant must be to have had someone cosplayed as various anime characters exposing him for being a rapist and abuser to over 160K people.

I overshare online because I have so much shit I just want to get out there. I don't really have friends, and even then my group of friends through my bf are my healthy friends and they don't know what happened to me in my life. And that's ok because they see me for who I am now, and not who I used to be. I met my bf during one of the lowest times of my life, and he has no idea how grateful I am for him helping me get out of that.

It's good you have accepting friends, but maybe getting a diary, or some kind of creative outlet would do you better than trauma dumping it all online. It could come back to bite you in the ass in unexpected ways
