After the third pull you had me talking to my computer saying "Make sure it is turned on!!!"🤣 We get so used to momentary switches it's easy to forget that some equipment has a real on\off switch. Good call replacing the filter, when I see white stuff in the screen I always go straight to the filter.

I'd definitely not keep it for myself, glad to see you got it running again. I knew it wasn't the canned fuel that was the issue. I've been using Tru-Fuel for years and years and never had a single issue, Chickanic says it's garbage but like I said I've never had a issue and everyone that I know uses it and they never had a issue. I also let it set in my equipment all winter long and it starts right up in the spring time. So my opinion? It had to of old varnish in the tank? Great video as always

If you are looking for a borescope to see inside the gas tank/cylinder, I'd recommend Depstech model DS450-SJ Amazon has it for $$77.38 with an additional $5 off at the moment. I had two of the wireless models, and pairing them was hit/mostly miss. This is an all contained unit, with a side facing camera as well. Once you have one, you will find all sorts of things to use it on.

Simple fix by cleaning the carb and replacing fuel filter. I would still try to get it to run especially since I worked on it before. Also, why not have the owner watch what you do to learn why you did what you did and how to avoid having the issue again. I keep hearing canned fuel is not always the best option. No octane fuel and still empty gas tank before long storage. Simple tips to keep any unit long-lasting!! Thank you for another skilled tutorial!!!

Pressure gets built up in the fuel tank. The tank valve isn't meant to relieve pressure, it's meant to keep pressure by letting air in while the carb sucks up the fuel. You can stop this by cracking the gas cap and then taking off the hose going to the carb.

My black max weed eater is having the same problem as the leaf blower. It had some other problems as well. I replaced the bad fuel line and primer bulb. I haven't taken apart the carb yet. It's been on the back burner. I tend to just fix instead of replace my mower and weed eater. Even stuff I find that people trash. Found a mower and weed eater that someone trashed a few years ago. Based on the amount of rust(?) on the top of their can, I wonder if a bunch of that fell into the tank also. My brother had an issue with a bad can of the Tru Fuel in his chainsaw. Luckily, once he got a new one, everything worked fine. I believe I read they claim a shelf life of 2 years, if unopened. I could be wrong/mistaken on that, though. I have a few unopened cans, that I should probably start using soon myself.

I'd get it, fix it and probably give it to someone that had none. As you know I use Tru-fuel and have for a while but a lot more now. I always put my wife's blower, a 230 Echo LN with fresh Tru-fuel up at the end of the season and poured what was left into my container and used it in my stuff. With the leaves falling hard and fast I decided to run the Echo since my Sweetie has a battery job to go with the Kobalt trimmer. It hadn't been run in ages and very little before that. I doubt seriously it burned 1/2 a tank of gas since it's been here, since I did everything with the 85. So I filled it up this morning with fresh good stuff and the piston was about seized up and very hard to pull but it limbered up and started on the 3rd pull and ran like new. Blew all the leaves with it and was thinking how handy your BIG one on wheels would be but now I can use the Echo and leave the vacuum hooked up on the 85. Progress but ethanol fuel will kill Tru-fuel. The good stuff absorbs the smell and probably the ways of the alcohol. Sure gets to smell just like it. I poured some in my old plastic container but no more. Happy week and Blessings!

Tru Fuel is great for people that use a gallon of pre-mix a year. If you are actually using equipment that needs pre-mix (2-stroke) then it is a big waste of money. I am suspect that the owner put in old crappy pre-mix and clogged the carburetor.
