- Tadej Pogacar destroys Jonas Vingegaard in Grand boucle 2024 stage 4, right where the Dane humiliated the Slovenian in 2022, on the Col du Galibier. UAE puts on an exhibition with Adam Yates, Marc Soler, Juan Ayuso and Joao Almeida and sends Visma away without Wout van Aert or Matteo Jorgenson. Richard Carapaz today lost the yellow jersey which goes on Pogi's shoulders and Remco Evenepoel continues to shut Lance Armstrong's mouth with a great performance that puts him second overall. Tomorrow on stage 5 we'll see if Mark Cavendish, Biniam Girmay, Mathieu van der Poel and Jasper Philipsen put on their show.

Nothing about that looked real when Pogacar flew over the summit of the Galibier like it was flat, and I have been watching the Tour De France ride over the Galibier for 40 years. He reportedly according to his Strava was riding 38K/hr at the summit. It was a new record by 2 minutes into a headwind over the last 8.51 km, 6.88 %, 585 m. If you think it is real, then you also still believe in Santa Claus.
Never pulled once except to race at that final km to the summit and descent
its not a difficult mountain in terms of gradient, its like 5.6% average, highest probably just over 9% where he attack.
According to his Strava, he was doing 18-20 kph at the summit. He had briefly accelerated to 38 kph as he attacked Vingegaard,. He did the last two minutes of the climb, including the attack, at just over 24 kph.
Let's get it straight: Vingo broke every bone in his body that is prone to breaking. He was in intensive care. And after just few months he is the ONLY one who can answer to 920% clean Pogi attack? No one else could. Vingo did it. Doesn't this look a little bit fishy?

I know this stage was all about the GC, but Cav looks like a husk this year lol; these last few stages have been tough to watch him "race". You don't need 35 wins for everyone to acknowledge your achievements, 34 was already an insane feat. This is kind of embarrassing for the Astana squad, imo.

@@jaysparc I thought he didn’t look that great coming into last year’s tour… Let’s see what happens in some of these sprint stages. If he can justify Astana’s trust in him with a stage win, maybe that counteracts the embarrassing display thus far? I just don’t think he’ll be winning anything personally, there are much stronger sprinters in the pelaton, and even some average ones that are probably better than him atm.
Hes probably lost a step but it’s hardly as dire as that yet. Been 1 sprint stage that didn’t really suit him.

When Pogi does his training on the planet Vulcan, it covers all the bases. The atmosphere is thinner and temperature much hotter. Wonder which doctor did the surgery on the alien Pogi ears.

And for the beauty of the sport (or the nightmare) if he win the tour de france 3 years in a row the anchovy will be crown in denmark the king of anchovy for the miracle, miracle, miracle performance since 3 years. Stage was too short and not enough endurance. After San Luca it was obvious that he can't lose a lot of time. Maybe if it was Galibier via Telegraphe

Nearly 2 weeks at hospital, 2 month of recovery, if he win the tour de france he will be a paranormal anchovy... at least.

"Dracula Gianetti"... well said, you know. It really does lead to that. Every time I see him at the end of the stage, it reminds me that something is not right in cycling. These guys, like Gianetti, Infantino... they belong in a movie like Reservoir Dogs. Still, that's the best-case scenario because they would be more fitting in those horror movies from before WW II. With the way they look, if you have a bit of an eye, you simply can't trust them.

Well well well. Dopgacar pulled it off. The Anchovy, Vingedope, had nowhere to go. This isn’t the end for our beloved anchovy, however. Remmy Evenedope was also impressive. Shoutout to Tom Dopecock, who I think can still make top 10 GC. Tomorrow stage winner: I want to think Biniam Girdope doubles up; however, I imagine the win goes to Jasper Philipdope. May the best doper I mean MAN win.

how was his win on coll de romme not similar to this? altitude he went over two summits solo and descended into run in won by couple minutes? This was more impressive descent because thats where he made the gap as opposed to climb but that was smart to make jonas whos endurance should be lacking by comparison work for entire duration of climb and run in. Logical smart tactics and better execution. Remco if he continues to enjoy the process and starts to believe can compete for podium he should be in great shape after stage 7 ITT. Profile right up his alley.
