Many years ago, I became friends with a guy who was always full of energy, good humor, giant plans for his future, and a lot of fun. I could not keep up with him since he never seemed to need sleep. He didn't know any limitations in what he could accomplish in life. I'd never met someone who exemplified the typical life coach like Tony Robbins. Then....one night I got a call from an ER, saying that my friend had come in weeping and was now in a fetal condition. They confirmed that he was bi-polar and had a very long cycle of manic versus depressive condition. Sadly, when manic, he thought he was "cured" and stopped taking his medication. Eventually, this would lead to a terrible fall into suicidal ideation and tears. I helped him by contacting his family back East and they came to get him. Never saw him again but think about him often.
Dude, your video on delusions was spot on. Thank you for that one and for all the other ones you have done. Very down to earth and informative. I know it’s a huge risk putting yourself out there but I’m sure glad you did. I can tell you’re very passionate about what you do and just know you’re appreciated. ✌🏻 🤙🏻
The very first video that I watched of yours was about how to deal with someone with delusions. My youngest daughter is in her early twenties and she suffers from bipolar with delusions. At the time I didn't know what to do. I felt very isolated. It was just myself and her in the house. Perler sister moved out she didn't feel safe living here. Her mother and I are divorcedent was afraid to be around her because of the physical altercations. Your video really helped me understand what was needed of me. She's not a medication doesn't believe she needs to be. she does exhibit reckless behavior at times I worry about her a lot. Your video really really helped things are great they're better. Thank you
Just discovered you via your van conversion video (I’m obsessed with the subject, and yours is one of the best videos for my purposes, that I’ve seen yet!) THEN I found this video, and now I’m getting ready to email you. Thanks for all the ways you help others and give of yourself. 🙏
I am starting a new job as a PCA next week and your videos about what it’s like to work in a psychiatric hospital were very helpful! Would love to hear more about it :D
@@ZachGood I have so many questions! Did having a mental health illness interfere with your ability to function properly at work? For example: making rational decisions, keeping commitments, and dealing with the stressors of the job in additional to your personal problems? Also, I am more so introverted. How can I get past that and not be afraid of offending people or making mistakes? I want to be able to effectively manage varying situations without being intimidated by patients. Any advice?
I feel you i am posesed with reading about drugs or mental illnesses for example from 3 am till now 12 pm i am still in searching and readin mode when i stop i start feeling irritated
My late husband was rapid bipolar. When he was manic, he did stuff like, place all his old album covers all over the living room walls. Uhmm 🤔 no not a good idea we were in our 50s When he was in his depressed phase, he sat on our sofa, no TV, no radio , just staring at the walls, for hours.

You definitely seem like a different person when hypomanic
Didnt know you were bipolar
Just curious , are you married?
No, I'm not. I imagine that I'll get married someday, but it's not something that I spend time thinking about.
