    You can also use hard, rounded river cobbles instead of or in addition to the steel balls for more grinding surface.

    Hey Chris you can put a lid on your concrete mixer with a seal which will allow you to "tip" your mixer further and carry more "product" :) the metal clip lid off a 40 gallon drum or possibly the next size down drum works well! Also has the added bonus of making the unit way quieter lol As alway love ya channel ferns a sweet dog with awesome ears love seeing her wantin to listen and please ya :) Anyways.......... ONWARDS TO THE GOLD ME HEARTIES!!!! AARRRRRGH!!😉

    I have a mixer-mill also. I use balls from 3" graded down to 1/2", use as much balls as ore and it gets ground down to powder. They key to size is that the ore will only be guaranteed to be ground to the inside walls of a tetrahedron of your smallest charge. The smaller stuff is from random impacts so is just a buy-product of what is happening. More grading of charge will get your ore powdered faster, and you have to have it somewhat crushed to start with rather than just tossing boulders in there. Heavy pans mate!

    That is sooo awesome Chris !! Forget everything else. Start drilling and blasting that vein ! Super nice show on the shiny ! We use to have a lode mine. Had a crusher, impact mill, sluice and shaker tables. Made enough $$$ to pay expenses and purchase a tractor and drilling equipment. We didn't get nearly the gold from such a small sample. Go for it mate !!

    Good work Vo Gus. Excellent result from your ore and interesting ball mill. I have a few suggestions which may have made your vid even more interesting from my point of view.Firstly, I noticed after you had finised the ball mill session and isolated the bigger rock fragments ,that there appeared to be some shiny ,clean rock faces that would lend themselves to a close examination through a lupe,to assess if any visible gold was present and an analysis of other intersting minerals such as pyrite,amd other sulphides
    ......Secondly,if you have been watching Jason of the chanel 'mbmmllc', you would know how the gold can be locked up in sulphides and that various methods of oxidising sulphides can reduce them and liberate some of this hidden,(usually discarded) sources of gold. In your video you could have isolated the sulphides from the sluice run tailings ,and from your magnet captures,and tried an oxidising technique, e.g. oixdisation with peroxide and or roasting the sulphides. then the reduced sulphides could have been sluiced and analysed for freed up gold. To my mind these 2 suggestions would have made your video even more captivating. Just my thoughts and I hope they are some value for you thoughful consideration.................In addition, if you haven't made a video yet of this aspect of gold recovery,(since I haven't been through all you works),I would love you to see do a video on Magnet fishing for gold......(see 'Prospecting River Gold With A Magnet!?' by 'Klesh' chanel). ..amazing and unexpected results. That's all for now my man.Keep up the good works.Good golding to you.
    p.s. don't do any golding or videos atm due to other demands of life.But would love to get back into it soon.

    Keep Safe & keep Rockin

  • @cheguevara5940
    @cheguevara5940 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    No, it's OK that way!
    If you would add some inner strives like in a regular cement mixer, it would be even louder, and the mixer would be done in a week, because the Hits, the vibration and the frequency of it would rip the mixer apart!
    So it's a unusual, diy way of doing it, but rather a little bit more time, not annoying the neighbors to much and no need of big investments!
    😂 😂 😂
    The Dog bunch is phenomenal 👍🏻✊🏻,
    The puppy is just a sweet little buddy!

  • @hardrockuniversity7283
    @hardrockuniversity7283 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Very nice grade. Did you check your sluice tailings for losses? Most hard rock ores get poor recovery in a sluice. I'm currently working with a good grade ore where 80% of the gold particles are LESS than 7 microns across. Gravity extraction is out the window on this stuff.

    • @hardrockuniversity7283
      @hardrockuniversity7283 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@timeisnow9855 They would be better than a sluice in general. This stuff has a lot of very coarse gold for hard rock, so exact comparisons would require testing.

    and dump out the ore when it gets full. i've checked severa; five gallon buckets to see what i miss in the clay slurry and it's almost nothing.

    Wow, amazing find! I love that crusher, I was honestly thinking about making one just like that myself and just can't find balls that big without actually taking time to hunt them down
    when I was thinking about mine in my head, I came to the conclusion that instead of welding bars into the drum, which would probably get beaten off anyway, just skip the welding and toss in some 20-30 cm bars of rebar loose like the balls. they will help stir up the balls for harder hits. while they might be falling right now, they don't have the energy they should. also, if you can find some smaller balls, that will help as well because there will be more steel-steel contact. you're getting a lot of stuff in that middle size because there's too much void space between the balls. think about how you would stack a pyramid of 4, there's that void space at the center. you want a ball that's just bigger than that area so that the others won't rest on each other during the rotation. this happens naturally in big mills as the balls wear down and they just dump more in. with a little fine-tuning, you should be able to crush that all down to process grade in an hour
    also, if you are thinking of welding onto the drum, weld some bolts on and stick hockey pucks or something onto them to act as vibration dampners. even just clean a spot off and see if anyone has any automotive sound mat to stick on laying around as a leftover

    That’s a heckin good result! Very good idea with the concrete mixer. Question though, would metal lawn bowling balls work as a tumbling media? I imagine those large steel shot to be worth as much if not more than the mixer. Also, spraying the outside of the mixer with tub liner would silence it quite a bit more. Maybe even plasti dip... BIG LOVE!

    Would the fire trick first have made it easier for the Balls ?

    We need to see all that ore you got crushed and then see how much gold you get and see the weight all together, that be a good video. Keep safe.
