Thank you for sharing another great video with us. My favorite thing about your channel is how wholesome you are as a person. For example, you named your Ocean Picture Stone after your wife. Those blue and green pieces might be neat to sell in your store.
11:13 comment rebuttal. for 30+ years i've been a concrete mason, digging up, down, and linear is near day to day, among other personal physical horrors not limited to overfilled wheel barrels on steep grade. breaking concrete out by hand with sledgehammers, hand loading, unloading. pulling and finishing concrete. i'd love to just dig holes for money, chizel rocks for gems, and run an excavator for pay.. what a beautiful life
Dan I know you are not really a fan of suggestions (because internet is bad we know that) but I think it could be a really cool idea if you find lots of old railroad spike to sell them coupled with a piece of that beautiful blue ore from the mine. Jason did something similar too and sells went absolutely nuts 😂
Seeing what could come out of that after grinding it to dust would be really cool... We have a forest road here in Oregon with a crumbly hillside that just dumps perfectly formed pyrite cubes and clusters all over the road. When the light hits it, the whole hillside glitters.
5:40 I've been saving Copper since I was small boy .. MY Dad taught me, everytime you find some put it in your pocket or vehicles!! Then sell it every year or two, I normally get $40 or so, but one time three years ago, I got $140 !!
5:40 that ore specimen would be fantastic to sell as a sample at one of the rock and gem shows. And Alex has beautiful hair. I think red or golden red hair is fantastic.
I worked at an open pit iron ore mine. Try doing that 10-16 hours a day. I did it for 3 weeks before stopping. There was still more I could have done but I needed rest. I was 23 years old and fresh out of the marines.
Some of those pieces you held up would look amazing shaped and polished. A metal rake and pick likely would help out a lot doing that.. rake down the surface and then break it apart with the pick when it gets hard. Seems like that stuff would be good to run through that magnetic con separator.
Dan, what are you & Dana feeding Alex! He's blown-up to be enormous! I'm just so used of seeing him thru the years as the slender red head in the family, Lol! Great hair Alex, now all you need is a red Prospectors Beard like dad! Wize choice Dan getting a copper mine, it's used in almost every electrical gizmo produced, will be extremely valuable in the future, for sure... I'd definitely get in touch with Jason, between you all, I'm sure ya can make things happen! 💪⛏️⚒️👍🤠
Hey Dan, I am in now way saying "you should", I'm saying that digging a shelf into the pit at knee level that you pull material onto from above has saved this old geezers spine on more than a few occasions. Guiding the material down the hill to its destination makes more sense than bending over to dig it out and pick it up.
Nice to see how pretty it is ! I live near (45 minutes) Copper Hill Tennessee. The copper mines from the late 1800s on ,devastated the area. Since the 80s reclamation has brought it back somewhat, but still does not look natural. Love the video. Thank you for bringing us along!
Dan I live behind South Mountain in Phoenix Arizona and it was loaded with a lot of copper in the process of going through the minds I found a lot a lot a lots of gold I'm going to suggest you take about 20 bags of that dirt to Jason
Hi Dan and family, came upon your channel by accident and have been binge watching all your videos, I absolutely love your enthusiasm, outlook on life and your honesty. Thank you for taking me along with you on your awesome journey. Fantastic to hear the old ticker got the all clear. Love, respect and admiration from Edinburgh Scotland 🏴 👍 🙏
Skin so soft oils work to keep the mosquitos away or 2 table spoons of instant coffee in a spray bottle with water, spray around the ares ur working keeps all critters away
Try digging footers in the Florida sun for 40 hours/week, or tying steel for up to 50 hours/week in the same conditions as I did in my youth. It convinced me to return to school to become a tech working in nice cold hospitals.
Definitely have dug and labored for 12-16 hour days 6-7 days a week for many years , but you definitely feel it years down the road .. especially paving with Hot asphalt , that was one career I didn’t exactly love doing . Black Gold ! lol
I had a guy work for me who Guaranteed he could dig for 8 hours. Said he has done it for years. three hours in he quit. Feeding a high banker is relentless.
When I was younger (25) I worked installing manholes for fiber optic cables. My job was to follow the trencher cleaning out the trenches. We averaged 14 hours a day 6days a week, for 4 months all I did was shovel dirt from a 10in x 3 foot wide trench. But it paid $$ ( prevailing wage in a major city)
What a wonderful family outing! Wow has your Alex and his red hair and beard grown. He seems to be a natural at mining with everything you have taught him. Hopefully he continues his education in Mining and Envormental Restoration. One day you will do the filming of his show and with his good looks that he got from Dayna he will do great. Love your show Dan, God bless you and your family. Happy Canada Day everyone!
Dayna was a Shovelling Machine there on the High-Banker! WTG DAYNA! WOWZERS ALL THAT PYRITE. You are most likely right about the Copper Future Dan. With the state of Existing Working Mines. And Thanks for sharing and doing what you Enjoy. Also involving the Family. I NEED to get back out and start Prospecting myself, here in AZ. Not to mention Rock Hounding to rebuild/replenish my stock.
-‼️‼️‼️Great to see Alex again‼️‼️‼️ -That was suck a beautiful shot of the stream & waterfalls. -Alex great job editing the videos. -💡💡There is a guy that makes bottle openers w marbles on TH-cam.
Copper is going to become expensive. Good job on that mine. Can you drive a truck up to the mine, and are you thinking about getting a truck with the equipment for processing ore?

What a great way to spend the day with family. Beautiful! And great hat Dayna! Last time I commented on your Oilers hat, they went on a 16-game win streak and Cup finals. So I'll compliment it again, and next year, we should win Lord Stanley! heheh
I have a question about the reclaiming process, or to be more precise wondering if there was something else that can be added to the process. Have you ever considered picking up some seed packets of native plants for the area and scattering them after reclaiming? Personally, since you're in BC, I'd try to get some seeds for showy milkweed. It's the only native milkweed of British Columbia, and great for monarchs. A quick google search turned up a few native seed places in BC, like Satinflower nurseries or Metchosin farm, though I know there are others. Maybe if you reached out you could see about some native seed blends for reclaiming land, I think that could be pretty cool, and pretty awesome for the environment too. Depending on the seeds they can also do better in certain times of year, so you could have stuff for any time of year if you so desired. I love the videos and the geology education, I just saw the patch of land in the reclaiming video and the ecologist in me is just going "that would be a great place to put down some native seeds and wildflowers for the critters"
Definitely from Dan. My wife has red hair and her dad's hair was pretty much white when we met. Now some of her red is turning that white color you see in Dan's beard.

It’s crazy to see how much Alex has grown up. Feel like I’ve only been following for a couple years and he’s literally grown so much lol

Dan, Dayna is a Gold-digger. In this case the good kind of gold-digger.
I think Dayna is onto something... A lot of those stone could be mighty pretty, cut and cleaned up like ocean picture stone. Galconda Ore cabochons?
14:17 I see what you did there Dan! That is also one of mine and my fathers favorite Simon and Garfunkel songs. Such a beautiful piece of music!

malachite is one of my fav stones, looks so good polished
there are really fun things I can make with old railroad spikes! giving that history some new life.
1:10 they way you said that made "Runnin' up that hill" start playing in my head! 🤣 🎶
Thank you for sharing this wonderful and enjoyable video with us six stars

My father brought home a COPPER NUGGET(Over 12 pounds) when I was young. Out running drill rig in Midwest.
Probably the UP in Michigan!
@lawrencehaw8780 no, illinois, he was a state employee, he saw all kinds of stuff come up. That was on big nugget¡!

Looking forward to the processing videos😊
Hi Dan i like your way...
Positive and happy attitude 😇🤠
The wife never stops and the guys switch lol 😂
Lord knows that a Miners Wife is more than a pack mule! Pretty, Smart, Strength and realy the back bones of the family.
Like the wife's hat! 😁 sucks game 7 didn't go our way 😔

thank you
I do wonder why they don't use a picaxe to loosen the soil and then shovel it up? It would make shoveling easier.( In my opinion)
I'd be using power tools to break it all up
It’s already loosened 😂 see how easy they were digging… that’s just making more work then you have to do
That's a dumb question

Dan, I dont believe I've ever seen your Misses in a video before. May I say, GOOD FOR YOU sir! You did pretty good for your self😉
You have an amazing wife. She out worked you and your son.
Dan doesn’t have to ever worry about leaving his gold mats at home. He always has a spare one on his chin 😂
It's like trying to find gold in a copper mine. It's like trying to drink whiskey, oh, from a bottle of wine!
Curious on the magnification level you used to show the gold?

And also a lot of learning. Thanks 🙏🏾

I've came across deer with with hole in foot cause boards like them they get infection and suffer till they die.
Ay nice guns 🔫
need the gold cube for that spot, with the trommel
I'm so jealous! I'd LOOOOVE to go out mining 🥰 but alas, I'm stuck farming and building a new house 😢
