@@VoGusProspecting One hour ? Unless you live right there I'm assuming there was travel time there and back, time working the site, plus fuel cost, plus equipment cost. At today's gold price of $1305.00/oz. you made roughly $23.00. Don't get me wrong, it looks like an enjoyable way to get outdoors. Just not a very profitable one. But more power to ya

I am a retired Air Force disabled veterean. Lately I have been diagnosed with PTSD. I use panning along with medication for theraphy for treating my PTSD. After watching every video from Vo-Gus, I have tripled the amount of gold I have been finding. Biggest difference is test panning now, before I start digging in one spot. Thanks for all your wisdom and keep with all your great videos.

Work all area behind the rock bar and funnelled area then work towards the banks. Dig down till you hit rock floor or clay layer. In dry season clean out creek or work area completely, including cleaning out the crevices, then process. I've cleaned out many small creeks over the years in far north Queensland and had lots of success with gold, tin, gemstones. I use home-made sluice box in a kit form for easy carry or a "Banjo" type sluice box set up once on a good run that's long term working. Any old timers reading this will know of a " Banjo " type sluice box set up. Best way to remove ironstone from pan is with magnet from underneath before you fully concentrate your fines or use magnet in old film cannister gently gliding over top of fines in pan. Hope this little trick helps those who read the comments. Cheers from an old fart now in WA still, digging gold.

Thanks for the simple speak. I’ve had the habit of not testing enough/properly. And it frustrated me every time! “Good pan on the first go! I’ll keep working this section.” 3 pans later... “Where’d all the gold go?” 🤔
Yes, the hills are starting the thaw right now here in Canada. Creeks are slow enough to do some preflooding work and then in a few months will be low again for flood gold/flour.

Good Going Chris! I've just started watching your videos and have noticed the struggle you have with the the black sand separation process. I'll Agee its easy to accumulate the gold in the black sand. I'd like to make a point about how we always arrive at two basic elements in the pan. At this point do you separate the sand from the gold or do you separate the gold from the sand ? I'm sure you know the specific gravity of each. Something I've learned over the years is that when you get to the two in your pan it's time to steer the gold, not the sand. Gold will walk up a very steep hill compared to sand. I would like to show you a paning method that makes the fear of black sand a fun challenge. Cheers!

Thank You, went panning for the first time of my life yesterday only for 2 hours, didn’t find gold, but I have a great time. I find probably one of the good reason why in your video (and I watch others) - The hint was to find a place with a concentration of big rocks and gravel together. I wonder if you have a concentration of bigger rocks if you can find bigger gold between? Need to experiment and learn, I Love it!

i have a 8 inch wide gold rat sluice, dream matt and that i fitted a home made highbanker to it , i put through about 100 plus shovels through it before i clean up . is that to many , whats your thoughts i run a bucket at end of sluice to catch the sands etc even thou the bucket overflows my thought that gold would sink in the bucket ??, and pan it out as well seam ti find 2 or 3 flat specs in it , the other day i was out found 4 or 5 nice flaky pieces in the bucket, whats your thoughts mate

Hello from Edmonton Alberta Canada. Another great video Chris, very helpful. Yes spring is coming and I'm getting excited and ready with some DIY gear. Unfortunately Alberta isn't known for nuggets but we do have flour gold for those willing to do the testing and finding that paystreak. So far I've built a multi stage classifier-condenser-saruca out of buckets and looking forward to testing.

Hi Chris, do you eat ricotta cheese? In Woolworths deli you can buy ricotta cheese in a plastic white sieve, the sieve fits those buckets perfectly and they work great as a classifier.

Great video, excellent information. I've been dabbling in gold panning recently and had little knowledge of how to actually identify a probable gold deposit location. Thanks!

Hi Stuart, got some 15 litre paint buckets if you want ideal for classifiers, have you had a chance to use the high banker yet?. Got the go ahead with alluvial lease 😊 I'll have to get it back for some sampling,I'll give you the heads up when getting closer.cheers Craig

Only had it out once and not for long. Last couple of month haven't gone to plane. Cool news about your lease though. I tried to get some sense out of ER re my shaft and got nothing useful except maybe I don't need a lease and can just rely on my miners right.

Some of these comments on here are ridiculous. Unless you have gold fever, you won't understand. I've never been gold prospecting, but I've bought and sold some on Ebay several years ago and I still have the fever. One of these days, I hope to be in a position to do what these guys are doing. How awesome it would be to enjoy nature and find gold at the same time!?!?!?
