As it may not be well known things were not good with Eric and Graham from the beginning of the 4 splitting up. Before Kev and Lol left, the four of them actually had a meeting and kicked Eric out of the band because they were tired of his perfectionism. Then, as we all know Kev and Lol left to make Consequences...and my memory fails me, but either Eric or Graham were going to go with them, which would have been the end of 10cc, of course. In any case it worked out with Kev and Lol on the off to make the greatest album in history (my opinion, of course), and Graham and Eric made the wonderful Deceptive Bends, and carried on. Apparently Eric rightly felt stabbed in the back and worked with Graham as a colleague...this was a band he had helped build too, after all. But yes, at the time of this interview (after Eric had had an horrific auto accident which damaged his eyesight, hence the shades), he and Graham essentially did not work together to make the Mirror Mirror album. A shame about the original band breaking up. Even with only 4 albums made together they reinvented pop and certainly helped invent art rock, though l would hesitate to call them prog. Well maybe How Dare You! In any case there is a doc here on YT from 2015 everyone should watch. Graham gets his due nowadays from being a brilliant songwriter, but l feel Eric has been totally overlooked as a brilliant songwriter, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and one of the greatest engineers (self-taught!!) who ever touched a mixing board. Those incredible sounds didn't get on tape by accident!! Truly, honestly, England's greatest overlooked, ignored band, with literally too much talent to contain it for long. Sadly, they were at their best together. A shame there is so much bad feeling between different members, which is almost comical. Eric and Lol have been brothers-in-law for 50 years so they get on. Kev and Graham have been friends for 60 years. Odd, that. A shame that with all of them still with us that we won't see them together again...and the point in doing so has long past... except, if there were some way to remind the world of how great this band was before they leave us. I personally would like to see Eric Stewart receive an award like was given to Geoff Emerick, for his engineering brilliance. Quite a bitter man, and to be that brilliant and virtually unknown, even after working with McCartney and Alan Parsons also, who could blame him? Hey Paul, put your influence in. How about Sir Eric Stewart? He's already that to me, anyway, along with Sir Lawrence Creme.
Geoffrey, I understand that when you feel passionate about your favourite album that you say things like "greatest album ever" etc, but I'm sorry that album is not the greatest album ever made, but Heck, I don't know what album is to be honest🙄🤔
Yes 'I agree 'why not Sir Eric Stewart ? or the same title for the rest of the band . I've alway's loved 10cc ' in fact I can remember me' here in New Zealand at the age of about 12 year's old handing over the money for my first ever record ' "art for art's sake" on 45rpm . I never got much detail about Eric 's car accident 'I'm wondering how horrific it was ? and also 'after seeing a fairly recent interview of Graham Gouldman 'why is it he said he doesn't talk to Eric these days?.
10 cc lived rochdale mr gouldman , i m not in love , i am with the song , mostunderated band.ever .............i m not in love not a love sonng , hes not in love , monster TRACK utc
Soon after this interview it was all over between Stewart and Gouldman. Too bad they blame eachother and are not on speaking terms anymore. I wonder if there is one person in the world who is able to reunite all 4 of them, if it just was for 1 concert, or 1 album.
Graham Gouldman, brilliant songwriter. He wrote Heart Full Of Soul, For Your Love The Yardbirds biggest hits, and Bus Stop for The Hollies. Just perfect pop songs. He’s not as renowned but he’s up there with Ray Davis imo
Wonder why Eric is wearing sun glasses in doors , he does not come across as shy or lacking in confidence , I always wana see peoples eyes , it's disconcerting , Love 10CC ;D
Ho urgentemente bisogno di parlare con qualcuno che ascolti questa storia importante.... NE va della vita di una persona sola, a cui stanno facendo tanto male... Io voglio parlare! Vi prego è IMPORTANTE...
Il male, il dolore di tutto quello he hanno fatto a me, senza capire, che tutto questo deve avere una fine. Lui... Era proprio.. COSI!.....Spero che Qualchuno, possa rendersi conto, cosa significa sopportare delle criminalità da anni. Qualchuno, come ho già detto... Deve portarli via... Loro meritano quello!!! Più di cinque anni... A tutti... Di più!..... Che Qualchuno ne prenda ATTO!...
Thank you for this bit of history. I love Eric Stewart so much. I’ve never seen him perform. I was born in 1977, but I would love to see him perform this song now. Too bad he’s not with 10cc anymore. When did you record this awesome interview? 😊
Hi, no from 1995 from an ITV morning programme, I don't think they were getting on particularly well having recorded the songs apart from eachother, two solo albums pasted together in affect..
Such a shame these two great guys fell out. I would love to see them become friends again more than anything else. .
A great band who didn’t get the credit they deserved shame the original band parted company
Original 10cc were the Beatles of the 70's and my favourite band is the Beatles.
they made such legendary tunes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Consequences was a thing of wonder

thanks for sharing so understated considering they are legends
Amazing band amazing talent such a shame they didn’t stay together
Great band. Sheet Music album was a classic.
In the days when they actually spoke to each other.
10 cc lived rochdale mr gouldman , i m not in love , i am with the song , mostunderated band.ever .............i m not in love not a love sonng , hes not in love , monster TRACK utc
Probably the smartest band in history but they were missing a frontman like Mercury so they would not have been huge today.

Recorded 95, but things collapsed very quickly. Very sad.
"you've had the time, you've had the power..." ;)
Wonder why Eric is wearing sun glasses in doors , he does not come across as shy or lacking in confidence , I always wana see peoples eyes , it's disconcerting , Love 10CC ;D
He suffered a road traffic accident that damaged his eyes. Hence the dark glasses.
And what is the reason Eric and Graham did split and dont talk to wach other?
great interview
Eric eres el mejor💘
Ho urgentemente bisogno di parlare con qualcuno che ascolti questa storia importante.... NE va della vita di una persona sola, a cui stanno facendo tanto male... Io voglio parlare! Vi prego è IMPORTANTE...
off the top of my head, the only american band, I can compare them with in terms of all members being able to sing and write songs are Moby Grape.

R.sole.
I don't think there's 1 In history , queen
From the "Mirror Mirror" era. Not a good album unfortunately.
is this from 1993?
