Yes! Found the problem you had. However, switch is burnt out and plastic disintegrated, so have to buy a new unit. Thanks, mildly entertaining too.😂

My bike has been off the road for a week. I tried this and it worked fine. It also saved me some dollars. :) Just subbed as well......

Thanks for video, it solved my problem. I did not have headlights but also could not start, no cracking. I cleaned contact plates initially, no help, then I testes with pliers as in your video, and lights came up. I finally realized that the plate with two contact dots was stuck and spring below it, so I put grease and unloose it and voilà all perfect, lights are there and more important can start motor!

Thanks. Just picked up a ‘06 650 vstrom. I’ve read about Suzuki not using a HL relay and thus running all the current through the switches. Thought that stuff ended in the 90’s. Guess not. I’ll be adding relays to mine. You might want to look into that, too.

Thanks for that! I have a 2013 DL650A and they still have the same switch!! mine was a bit burnt too but after a clean up it's good to go. Many thanks all the way from New Zealand.

Thank you for the video i have almost the same problem that for the moment i fix temporarely by moving the starter switch button up or down and the lights turn on and usually remain unless i pop up somewhere.
I also saw a video that you can connect the headlights cables to an extra switch near the main switch to cut off the lights when you want to. I just didnt understand if i must put a relay also or it would just be ok with a switch only.
