Thanks! I just took a spin class for the first time ever and I could not figure out why I couldn't stand. I felt weird sitting the entire time when everybody was else was vertical 😂 now that I know that my gear was too low it makes sense but some of these class environments are intimidating !

Very helpful - I was hurting my knees standing because I was using completely wrong form. Spin instructors NEVER explain proper form!

We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.

These are the best tips to get the differences bettwen jumping and standing on a bike, while you are cycling. This is better than hurting your butt during a good workout, but make sure that when you are done workingout, make sure you stretch.

Thanks for this. I kept getting frustrated at how I couldn't spin fast when standing. Now I know it was because I have poor technique. I'll practice what you preach and hope to get better.

Definitely one of the better videos I've seen for people to build a strong foundation with. If the basics aren't correct, the advanced techniqies will be much more difficult, if not nearly impossible.

I have a hard time standing for awhile & getting rpm up during spin classes and this was definitely super helpful for me. My instructor always said that the seat should be flirting with you while standing 😅

Standing pedaling feels so much more intense and closer to running.
Is is safe to pedal standing for an entire workout?

I'm so happy I found your TH-cam channel. I recently gave spin a 2nd chance and I've been doing it twice a week and after yesterday's workout my hip has had it. I've had to make an appointment with my Orthopedic specialist who I haven't seen in years. Anyway I'm hoping that when I do return to my spin class that I have a better experience with the new knowledge I have gained.

So, more tension or making it harder to pedal actually makes it easier to pedal standing up. Makes sense. I have a knee injury from sliding on a huge mud patch on the bike path. Used my leg to try to not fall. Injured. So, trying to do indoor cycling, so I can take breaks for my knee. I kept loosening the tension and it was hard. :D

Anyone have any advice?? I had knee surgery in December. I can’t stand and run on the bike!! I can only get up to about 70 (pelaton), and the run should be 70-90!! I have strong legs and core! Is it because of my knee I can’t go fast? Or am I doing something wrong?

I first went spinning 25 years ago and I still use the three basic positions which allow you to stand tall, lean slighty forward and the grip this instructor is demonstrating. Combined with different grips I can lock myself by turning the palms of my hand out or turning one hand out (that lets you sway to the beat) or two palms flat which allows you to sway from side to side like a real cyclist on a hill climb. At my age (57) I dont do classes where fast rotation and rising/sitting from your seat are involved. I came back to spinning 15 months ago and with the gear (brake) fully wound off I can stand none stop for nearly three hours keeping pace with the music. Or a quick spin will be 90 minutes standing(no sitting) winding on the gear until the last five minutes when Im only one turn from locking the wheel. Are there other spinners out there who can excel at standing non stop or am I the only freak

should the lower back be slightly arched out, in or following the general line of your upper body? I get a stiff lower back on high gears and it's not from twisting because I keep good form in that respect

I’m new to spinning but am having pain and clicking in my wrists. I lean on my wrists I don’t know how I can avoid it. I hear you about core strength but as a beginner I can’t improve. Light on my hands seems impossible without falling forward. Help?

    • @StudioSWEATonDemand

Hello! Generally if you find yourself falling forward it means you don't have enough gear on to stabilize. So check out these videos. I hope they help you!

    • @StudioSWEATonDemand
      @StudioSWEATonDemand  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Usually the biggest issue with this is it loads too much pressure on the knee joint and gets them out of line. If it feels good to you though you can keep doing it! Just listen to your body!

That would bug the hell out of me. The adjustment knob on that is actually tight 😂. Due to that design, that's as good as it gets. The only way to "fix" that is to make some sort of shim. The seat is probably wobbly too.
