  • Watch before Spinning! Your foot should be positioned properly on the pedal so that you avoid foot pain, foot cramping or loss of power. In some cases if your foot is not properly placed you can develop knee pain, achilles tendonitis and other foot problems. But don't worry, Indoor Cycling instructors Cat Kom and Brian LaRose are here to explain how your foot should be positioned on the pedal.

*Great **Latest.Bike** , good looking, good suspension and love the gearing. I've tested some bikes that were more then twice the price but not as good. Get lots of looks when riding.*

Great video, I'm new to spinning and have small feet and just realized I was pushing my foot all the way into the cage and when I pulled it back out it felt better but had no idea if that was right as I am at home.

For me, the toe dips a little at the bottom of the pedal stroke, due to ankling, but level other than that!

Hello! I have a regular spinning bike with normal pedals (shoe box) and doesnt have cleats on the other side.
My question is if I want to start using spinning shoes with two with two bolts, what do I have to do and buy?
Do I need to buy: 1) pedals separately and then buy cleats and adjust them to the pedals? 2)Spinning shoe separately and then buy cleats and link them to the shoes?
Or there is and easier way where I can buy them already adjusted!?
Pls not that I live in a country that has zero spinning places at this time, so i would have to do all this online

Can you show us or tell us how to "lock down the cleat" I have used my spin shoes for almost 3 years and never done this nor knew I needed to. It is just light making sure it's tightened? Great video and good points for us instructors! Thanks! Oh and when I came into one of the studios the other day, I was wondering why a shoe was left clipped in. LOL

Hey Rita! Cat said, "Yes, just making sure the screws are tightened down and that the cleats are in the proper place. I like this video on placement: th-cam.com/video/e2BXOkM-wHs/w-d-xo.html&vl=en"

My right foot sometimes gets hot and then my knee kind of hurts the next day. Only has happened once on the left foot. Really confused as to why.

How does someone who has natural toe out, spin. Feels like it misaligns my knee and then my quadriceps tendon gets tendonitis. Happens every time I ride at the gym and then I'm down for like 2 weeks.

Hey Matt. That's a really good question. I wish I had the answer. I feel like if it were me I'd do my best to train my knees to come in and hope my toes would follow. I'd also make sure that I had some play in the tightness of the clip if I were wearing cycling shoes and if I were just using toes cages I might leave a little slack there too. I would hope it'd just be a repetition thing to train those toes to come in though. Sorry if that was not much help!

Hi guys. I'm just wondering what is the best way to break your ankle while pedalling? Thinking of leaving my spin studio but I think it would be funny to break some clients ankles before I leave just to leave my stamp on the place.
