well, i don't see her use salt in there and in her version she not use sambel cabe or sambel tomat, but instead the big red chili for to be mixed with the nasi goreng. and i don't see any other Bumbu that will make Nasi Goreng more Yummy beside the brown one that looks like terasi and the yellow one that looks like will make the nasi goreng have chicken curry flavor. +Those Onion is so big, i don't like eating those big piece Onion.

@@Wahid_on_youtobe Everything is wrong what Marion does. First you need to put the shrimp paste, unions, garlic and red pepper in a blender, then you put it in the pan for 5 minutes on medium heat. The chicken you will do before everything and put it in at the end. Never ever put a chickenstockcube in! Maybe put it in when you cook the rice, but i would leave it out. If you like a salty nasi goreng use bacon instead of chicken.

We Dutch all practically grew up on the Indonesian kitchen.
Indonesia was one's (until very recently) a Dutch colony for many centuries and most of the Indonesian dishes are known for probably that same amount of time here in the Netherlands.
It's so normal here, we practically see it as a Dutch staple.
And it's a very healthy and tasty way to cook.
Nasi Goreng is every Friday, like Sate is Sunday to us Dutch xD.

that looks so indonesian, but shallot is often used instead of onion for indonesian nasi goreng though.. but I think anyone can make their own style nasi goreng, and what I love about this recipe is using shrimp paste, adding more spiciness would be great with this recipe. good job.

kecap manis literally translated to sweet soy sauce. but it is different than the thick soy sauce which is a salty soy sauce with a thicker consistency. while quite common in south east asia, kecap manis is very popular in indonesia. if you want to find kecap manis in the asian store, you can look for brand like Bango, ABC, or nasional. these are the big brand name

I made it right after watching her video, with a few tweaks of course, added sambal belachan, bok choy, and homegrown laksa leaves (coz that’s what I had) and it was soooo good! The key thing to note is sometimes not really what that goes in (if you can’t find or don’t like something just substitute with something else) but when they go in and how, how long to cook, how high the heat is, searing your protein etc...and that is the strength of Marion’s style of cooking and once you get it, your dishes will be as good as hers. 😋😍👍

I recall indonesian fried rice rarely include regular "salty" soy sauce in the recipe except served in chinese restaurants. I think this is some "indonesian style" fried rice cooked by most chinese indonesian since regular soy sauce are not usually found in the local market but available throughout the chinese market. Anyway, amazing recipe!
