    I used to deal with crazy customers, when I worked at the hospital. This is an interesting video. I would only get a doll’s hair re-curled or get an ear piercing. I had my ears pierced at the Piercing Pagoda. I wanted my ears pierced so badly, that Nana sneaked me over to the mall to get it done. Also, it was done without numbing cream. Because, back in the olden days, they didn’t have that. Parents need to wait until the child wants her ears pierced. My niece in 19 years old, and still doesn’t want her ears pierced. I told her, if she needed earrings, to wear the clip on ones.

    RE: having your ears pierced with a gun. You are literally shoving a blunt object (the earring) through the ear, which tears up the skin and leaves you more likely to have complications like infections and swelling. Needles are always going to be safer and more sanitary than a "piercing gun". I had my ears done in a Walmart with a gun and they were not only uneven but also left me with scarring that wouldn't have happened if we'd gone to a professional. Now I can't wear earrings at all, 10 years later, because of the scars.

      I got my first ear piercing done when I was 7 at Claire’s and just a week or so ago I got my upper lobes done and the girl doing them told me that they actually did my first piercing uneven which surprised me because it was something I never noticed. I’m pretty sure the first time they used a gun and at this place she did too. I hope I don’t have problems with the healing but it seems to be going well so far

    Dallas has child/doll ear piercing. And as an adult I only take my dolls in to have their hair done is to get their meet style redone. I took Addy in to have her PC hair style done. I tried like 4 times at home but could never figure it out.

    I recently took my American girl doll Samantha to the American girl Doll salon here in Charlotte to learn what kind of styles I can do with her hair at home and how to take care of her hair and I'm a collector because I never experienced that before back when was 10 years old and I had Molly and I found it extremely helpful

    Dang… I just got turned down for an interview at the Dallas location’s salon, and now I’m kind of glad I got turned down. If they’re not training consistently or properly, I wouldn’t be able to do the hairstyles super well. I’m autistic, and while I do really well when I’ve got consistent direction and training, I’m truly not good when I’m just thrown into the water.
    It’s a huge shame I got turned down because I’m actually a doll artist (I make reborns) and I would LOVE to also work with dolls as my day job, but not having the proper training would screw me over. That’s why I haven’t worked a “real job” since I was in high school.
    Also, YES to the tattoo parlor suggestion! I had my first two sets done at girl stores (Libby Lu and Claire’s respectively), but got my cartilage done at a tattoo parlor, and the difference was night and day! The cartilage hurt less than the lobes!!

      I have schizoaffective disorder. So, I feel your pain. The Miami location is closing. However, it’s way too far too travel. So, I won’t be able to drive there. I need direction and less change. I am so tired of hearing people say, I won’t”
      spoon feed you’” and “you’d better learn we quickly.” Because, it takes me a long time to learn things. I am glad that you like American Girl 👧 dolls, too. I know it’s an expensive hobby one needs to support. I had to stop working. So, I cannot get everything I want for my dolls, which is a bummer.

    OMG you are SO right about taking new dolls to the salon! It makes me so mad to see people get their brand new dolls’ hair done because whenever I get a new doll, they shed a TON when I brush their hair only a little! I used to think they de-frizzed their hair because I had dolls with very messy hair when I was little that I thought was “frizzy,” since there were SO many flyaways, but they just recurled it so I was disappointed when I brought a doll with ACTUALLY frizzy hair and they didn’t “take out the frizz” 💀- I think the hair salon is a great option for people with older dolls who need a touch-up

    • @AGBob_DollPants
      @AGBob_DollPants ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also, my 73 had a bad ear piercing :( I couldn’t send her for a new head because they said to not take it out for 24 hours and during that time period the dolls had the new eyes and I still think they send out 73 with new eyes sometimes… mine had little pieces of vinyl sticking out around the ear that were a bit lighter than the actual skin tone :/

    Regarding parents telling their children that less expensive knockoffs are American Girl dolls, I am thinking that a great deal of them may be lying; especially by the time they get to the American Girl store. I am thinking there is also a percentage of parents who know nothing and care nothing about different doll brands. They may be generalizing that all 18 inch child type dolls are “American Girl”.
    However, I agree that by the time you have a child who is interested in 18 inch child type dolls, learn the brands, the cost, and where to buy dolls appropriate for your child and budget.
    I am also interested in more customer stories and how to be a smart consumer at America Girl doll by knowing the doll line and the line of behavior that sales representatives won’t be talking about after work.

    Hi Kris I have a question, what hairstyles can I do on Maritza? I would really like to have her hair out of her face. American girl pictures Maritza with such pretty hairstyles but I’m guessing since you mentioned wavy hair shouldn’t be in braids that doing a French braid on mariza’s hair is wise.

    • @ALT-vz3jn
      @ALT-vz3jn 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For my Maritza I usually take a small section on each side of her head and twist them in the direction towards the left (all AG dolls have their hair curled to the left), then I tie them together with a soft fuzzy hair tie in the back. That way you don’t lose the curl, and her hair is out of her face.
