  • ! I’m so excited to finally be releasing this video after four years in the making! I worked at the American girl store when I was freshly 18! A lot happened in the year that I worked there! I cannot stress enough how much gratitude and love I have for the brand! Despite the way things ended and despite how upset I was towards the end that doesn’t discredit the amazing year that I had with them as a whole. I cannot think the brand enough for all of the amazing opportunities I got to have while working with them! I really am not bitter about anything anymore and I hope that that shines through! I hope you enjoy this video and please make sure to follow me on Instagram @thedollstudiobykris

    Don’t you wish someone who works at the factory in China could make a video of that experience? I love American Girl and just hope the people who make the dolls are treated fairly.

      That would be so interesting and cool to see! I hope they are treated fairly too, as everyone deserves to be.

    Loved your videos! I’m definitely looking forward to more! As a 31 year old mom of an 8 year old daughter and a 3 year old daughter Whom both LOVE American Girls I sometimes feel like I’m living my childhood dream of being able to play with them through being able to sit with them and play! When I was a little girl I would get the catalogs and I would always dream of having one! Unfortunately I never got one as a child because my parents were young and didn’t really have the money for them and that’s ok because now I am soooo excited to be able to get my girls these dolls and some sets however we do purchase similar items by OG and MY Life because they are so much more affordable! But anyways it always good to see an adult video about dolls and someone who enjoys them as well! I do! If possible I’d love to request some videos to help a momma out sometimes! I’m not anywhere where I can go to an American girl store so I loved being able to virtually walk through and see what it’s like! I would absolutely be thrilled to see a video of you talking about hair care for the American Girls! I have a Kira doll that I keep maintaining however her hair has gotten so so thick feeling and almost hay like … I’ve always wanted the fishtail braid in her hair like pictured in the magazines but I cannot get the hair to be silky and new again… I definitely would love to see a tutorial and informative video from you being that you did work with them in the salon ! I would value your information because you’ve been there done that! Not just someone that like you say “ quite literally “doesn’t know how to Appropriately style and manage their hair! Please as a begging mom of some nappy headed dolls help me out! 😩😂😂😍

      I can kinda relate! I have my own little girl now and she’s only 1 but I’m gonna get her into AG because I never really got to.. I had 1 doll and trust me I was beyond grateful but by the time I did finally receive one I was kinda outgrowing playing with dolls.. but now I have a mini me who will wanna play and I can’t wait to spoil her with AG

    I wasn’t around when you were agsalonstylist as I was a long hiatus from 2009 until 2022. Welcome to this new adventure! I love your diversity in other doll brands outside of American Girl like Maplelea, Our Generation, and Healthy Roots. I can’t wait to see hairstyles from you on other brands of dolls and recommendations

    I loved where you talked about it all being a learning experience. That is exactly what life is! And very mature of you to see that. You are gifted with a magnetic personality. This enthusiasm cannot be taught in school or trained. So always value that aspect of yourself. It will always serve you well! And build upon every single experience in life and at work. Even "negative" experiences are always positive- because they add to your wisdom and become the fabric of who you are. Keep creating!! :)

    How informative. I loved this, the AG store is one of my all time favorite places in the city and it’s because of the staff that’s made it all so effortless for a consumer. It’s nice hearing someone had a great time doing what they loved with such fun dollies.

    Thank you so much for sharing this, I truly appreciate you! I have been a fan of yours for some time now and again am glad you are back and creating freely! I also worked for AG at one point in my life. Unfortunately, the store in my state closed and that was the end of that. I am so disappointed with the few negative experiences you had at AG. It was truly their loss (and ours) as I can only imagine the new and wonderful things you could have helped the brand with. However, I totally agree that hindsight is 20/20 and things happen for a reason. I am wishing you continued success with your new accounts!

    This is honestly so interesting, I've always wondered what it was like working at the stores as a member of the online AG community. I'm glad you're back and am so excited to see what this new chapter of your AG journey holds in store!

    Thank you for sharing your story. That sounds frustrating to not be able to create your own merch and original work without it being tied to AG, and then not having control over how other stylists were doing your original hairstyle!

    Thank you for sharing your story, I wondered what it was like to work there. Sounds like you had a lot of fun back then.
    I feel that AG treated you horribly regarding your creative collab, and refusing to put you on their PR list is SO petty of them. I’ve seen creators who get PR and have absolutely terrible videos with almost no one watching them; your videos are so professional in contrast to theirs, you should definitely be on their PR list.

    In my personal opinion I think there should be a special recipe for a shampoo and conditioner for the American girl doll hair

    • @ALT-vz3jn
      @ALT-vz3jn 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can use any synthetic wig shampoo and conditioner for American Girl doll hair... It’s the same type of hair (Kanekalon) that’s used in many synthetic wigs for humans. If it’s safe for synthetic wigs it’s totally fine for AG dolls. Look for products that are oil-free.
      Personally I love using the Revlon wig care products on my AG dolls, but I’ve heard that Sally Beauty offers a very reasonably priced synthetic wig shampoo and conditioner.

      @@ALT-vz3jn Don’t you also agreed that American girl should come out with their own organic recipe for the dolls to have their own shampoo and conditioner?

    Gosh, they could have put you on the PR list, with all the work that you did. And forbidding people from speaking on injustice? Awful. I’m very grateful that I was gifted my doll years ago, and now that I’m getting back into it, will be purchasing clothes from independent creators. Yikes.
