You should also take a look at the Arc family, they have an absurd amount of aura, another potential "mutation" of magic being in the bloodline, it was never stated in the show that Ozma's and Salems daughters died..or at least all of them, one could have survived and been the progenitor of the Arc family, reason why I think this is possible, well, the Arcs pretty much ALL have blond hair and blue eyes...kinda like a certain evil witch queen before the witch part, not to mention the Arc family crest resembles Salems old family crest. Could also be the reason why Oz let Jaune into the school, he might have felt that he has some-kind of responsibility towards his distant descendant.
I've been thinking about a theory like that for a while. I want to meet at least one more member of the family or get another mention of members before I dive into the topic. Was it confirmed that the entire family has massive aura? I don't remember if it was mentioned when Saffron was introduced
@@PhoenixNight I assume the family has a history of strong aura possessors, due to Jaune indicating that his father and grandfather and great-grandfather etc all were/are known for being incredibly powerful warriors. One of my theories is that, It's quite possible that Jaunes father forwent Jaunes training even tho it seems like their family norm to produce fighters, reason being that Jaunes father knows the family roots and was afraid what could happen to his only son if he got involved in the war against Salem. I am hoping that we will meet his father soon, since he is said to be such a strong warrior, I'm sure eventually such an individual will make an appearance.

Apparently I have been told that in the RWBY Volume 6 dvd commentary, it is stated that silver eyed warriors were Ozpin's children he unknowingly passed god of light power to. But I haven't checked the commentary myself.

This is also going off the idea of Qrow being Rubys dad. And Summer being a maiden. Ozpin gave Qrow and Raven their bird shaping powers. Summer has Silver eyes. So Ruby does as well cause genetics. In s7 its been mentioned that Rubys semblance isn't speed. While we don't know yet. (ep 6 is the latest ep) I feel like the silver eyes and being a maiden is connected. I also feel like since Qrow has magic and silver eyes may be connected to magic, Rwby's semblance IS magic.
I love how you almost got sidetracked into talking about the two brother's "gender". Ozma creating silver eyed children is and intriguing theory though there isn't much detail regarding the rules of reincarnation aside from being (presumably) male and that their aura resonates with his.

I had a bit of a theory about the Dust crystals that we've seen through out the series, I believe that the dust crystals is fossilized magic from the first iteration of humanity, before the god of darkness massacred them, although I don't know if that means that they also contain anything else like human essence for that matter.
That would stand, if there were any bodies or bones left behind. Though, looking back at the episode, it appears all the people on the planet -- save Salem -- were vaporized. Nothing remained behind to be fossilized.
I thought dust came from the moon and i mean it makes sense when you think about. They once talked about how dust doesn't work in the upper atmosphere for some reason unexplained. So it make sense that dust came from the moon and and it's shards crashing down and hiding away in the dirt. Most notably, in atlas, where there is the most dust.

Ozma lied about "gifting" his magic to four maidens. It was an easier story to tell than the fact that "we're fighting my immortal ex wife who wants to kill me ever since we split up and our fight resulted in the deaths of our four children.....who happened to be reborn".....see, the maidens were reincarnations of his daughters...daughters he had with salem....daughters who inherited from him, a similar method of reincarnation and a genetic access/capacity to perform feats of magic (inherited from ozma and salem both). But their method of passing on the maiden powers, and the aura it's tied to...the aura, that is the embodiment of ozma and salem's daughters souls is a bit different. it attempts to find a FEMALE host (female soul), in which to inhabit, preferring a young able-bodied one who the previous maiden was thinking about at the time of their death.
It could be possible, if you think back to the first time Ruby meets Ozpin and his first sentence is "You have silver eyes." It could be that Ozpin already new they would show up but was curious and new that silver eyes had finally surfaced after many years of his current reincarnation.

Those who embody the relics are the Arbiters; the Maidens and that's more in regards to symbolism. Raven is the Arbiter of Knowledge who allowed what she knew to eventually overtake and diminish her. Presumably Cinder is the Arbiter of Choice, but we have not seen anything to that as of yet. She seems focused on her single path. Summoning may be a result of being Arbiters of the Relic of Creation, I won't say that it is not suspicious.
Jin said Salem can't be killed so it's a matter of getting the gods on their side to remove Salem's immortality. In my perspective they were complete Hippocrates who punished a woman with an immortality curse because she didn't respect death, meanwhile brought back her lover anyway and either purposefully or naively put them against each other. The whole plan was quite dumb or convoluted to be useful in practice. But they did it anyway, or rather the light god did, the dark god was just a jealous little brother throwing a tantrum who wiped out all of humanity because of the acts of some stupid leaders and soldiers. The gods are kind of overpowered jerks, so I kind of want them to stay away from remnant.
I don't think you rambled that much. I could follow your main idea. Since aura is a fraction of magic but semblances are a kind of refined form of an individual's aura, I would say semblances are a bit closer to the true form of magic, and so would make sense that a genetic enhancement from magic would foremost surface in the form of a super semblance (coincidentally, in my own rwby fanfic, the wizard of that universe gives 4 random huntsmen super semblances boosted by his magic). For magic to manifest in the form of eyes, which mirrors the Light Dragon's eyes, the only link I can think of is as you mentioned, through Ozma's reincarnation from the Light Dragon. I wonder though, could it be possible for someone not related to Ozma to have a silver eyes like semblance; and Grimm bane? Because Ren's semblance is really similar to how Maria said she could blind Grimm (although Ren's is far more subtle).

Sounds like it would be an interesting Fanfic! An anti-Grimm semblance could be possible, it seems that semblances can be almost anything within reason and that would fit very well in the World of Remnant, though it wouldn't be as strong as the silver eyes
Maria's actual semblance is technically spidey-sense. She called it reflexes. She essentially could almost predict what would happen and was able to dodge away from danger, much like Spider-Man.
This is surprising similar to the "Child of Valen" concept from Babylon 5, where Commander Sinclair traveled back in time, was transformed from a human into a Minbari, took a Minbari wife, and thsu began human souls mixing with Minbari souls.

Last time I viewed the episode that dealt with Ozma/Ozpin and Salem's past, it looked like Salem killed the kids in that first attack against Ozma's first reincarnated form. Plus the fact that the house was a flaming ruin while they fought -- and how intensely they fought -- so, it doesn't look like the kids made it out alive. Plus, if they actually DID have the ability to reincarnate, shouldn't they have the means to recognize themselves and know Ozma in any body he reincarnates into?
Assuming that they did reincarnate, you would think that after several hundred years they would finally get fused with a random kid rather than sleeping in the people the reincarnate into and begin retaining enough memory between each body to accidently stumble upon Oz, or at least notice a combat genius that weilds a very similar cane appear at most a few years after the previous cane wielders death but never before there death. They would presumably look into them in the hope that they were also immortal and willing to spend some of that time together becuase by then, they would have realized how bleak eternal life is without anyone to share it with. Except no such being exists as far as we can tell, which only reduces the odds that such a being ever could have existed.
I'm not against headcanon despite what my previous comment might imply. heck, I believe ruby is Qrows daughter that came about from a single drunken fling between him and summer. this bit of headcanon fits all we know about qrow and summer. unless some new information comes out that disproves that having ever possibly happened, my headcanon will stand. my issue with your headcanon is that it should have a large effect on the story if it were true that isnt there. there is also the issue of the curse being more likely to infect the children between ozma and regular people becuase their magical potential is lower. yet the only thing to come of that are the silver eyes, not the entire curse. it would make more sense for the entire curse to be transferred to the half magical kids than it would for fully magical ones, but it wasn't, making the fully magical kids reincarnation even less likely to be even possible. TLDR I dont have an issue with headcanon, but I do have an issue with headcanon that both lacks a basis and would drastically change the plot of the story if it were true.
Just tossing out a thought, but it could be possible that Ozma/Ozpin does have lineage from each of the lives he has lived, giving Salem a personal hatred for Ozpin's bloodlines too (silver eyes). While on the other hand, the Shnee bloodline could have come from Salem's side, her daughters having families with normal humans...this would make it a poetic twist to have Weiss and Ruby as partners who overcame their starting disputes and are now close friends. It wouldn't surprise me if RT uses those two to bring peace between Ozpin and Salem.
Given what we've seen and been told from the show, it's apparent that magic is indeed tied to one's soul just like aura and semblance with the difference being that you can still use magic even if your aura is depleted but you CAN'T use semblance with no aura. However, it's possible that this is only the case because it's Ozma's borrowed magic being used by the individuals we've seen with this limitation instead of something that's natural to them. Case in point, Ozma's gifted magic seemingly doesn't allow those who inherit it to pass it along genetically like they would the ability to use aura or semblance. On the contrary, Ozma's gifted magic seems to follow the same rules as HIS reincarnated soul being that the power actually leaves the maidens upon their death and seeks out a new host.
While I don't particularly subscribe to the theory you're describing yet. I will say it was well composed, your ability to think on your feet without a script is laudable. I'm not sure I believe that Semblance refers to lost remnants of magic. To me a Semblance is a semblance of a person's personality, only because magic so far seems to be control over the elements (and transformation... apparently) and judging by Salem's Summoning ability, may also be related to magic, ergo I believe the only Semblance which is related to magic from what we've seen has been the Schnee Summoning as the Glyphs, while powerful and versatile, I'm not sure they constitute as magic. But those are just my thoughts. Your thoughts were described strongly and lucidly.
I disagree, using what we saw in the category of Dust/Semblance, and what we saw in the category of Magic, there's no way to tell which is which unless we're told, as Qrow's tranformation doesn't break a single rule, (Ruby changes shape, Flynt quadruple his mass, Wiess has more than one ablity (which is even more different than Qrow's Crow and Bad Luck))

The parts about the genetics, inheritance possibilities, and magic's impact on Semblances made sense. But, the part about those two kids of one of Oz's past lives/hosts having Silver Eyes is a pretty big assumption; their eyes could simply be grey, or some shade of blue (Like Winter's). It's way too difficult to discern grey or certain shades of blue from silver, so until a RWBY writer comes out and confirms that they did, in fact, have Silver Eyes, or (preferably) it's said plainly and outright in the show itself, I can't take it as a fact.
@@HighPriestFuneral That's fair, but I still feel that the writers are the higher authority over animators in these cases, since writers have way more of a say and an impact in the overall story and the story canon and world-building. So, while an animator's confirmation does make me lean a bit more into believing it, it's still not good enough to make me buy into it fully. This is why I believe it's just so much easier if they just said this stuff plainly in one of the episodes, or even in a World Of Remnant clip; that way, there is no question about it. Stop trying to be so unnecessarily secretive about things that NEED to be and SHOULD be general knowledge, CRWBY... I had been think of this same thing myself but you bring up some very interesting ideas that I had never thought about. especially about silver eyes being genetic, considering that neither Ozma's incarnation or wife had silver eyes yet the kids do.
I feel like some points were missed or not fully explored when this was made if you pull information across volumes. I agree with everything, kind of. PS this will come around to silver eye's in the end. I'll be referring to Destruction, Creation, Knowledge and Choice as Ideals as this is how the God of Light referrers to them in The Lost Fable, just an FYI. So, In volume 4 we learn of the creation of man. Created like the powerpuff girls, with Destruction, Creation, Knowledge, Choice. Those are further elaborated on throughout the series. Destruction, being the primary domain of the dark god, was the gift he instilled in man. Magic is an extension of destruction, this is supported if not confirmed in the episode The Lost Fable, the dark god says(referring to magic), "My own gift to them, used against me?" Where all the magic humans used against him culminated into a purple ball(his symbolic color in the ideals of man) that he uses to DESTROY all of man kind. Except Salem. She was given a fifth gift, by the God of Light specifically, not given to the rest of man, but I'll get to that later. Creation, the primary domain of the God of light. Creation is pretty simple but expansive, it is the ability to make new things. I think reproduction and the passing of genetics fall under the aspect of creation, lending toward the points in your video. I think this might also be related to evolution and how Semblences manifested as well as the Faunus even, but I'm not 100% on that. The second iteration of man isn't devoid of the 4 ideals of man the first iteration, they just have less. To quote the God of light again in The Lost Fable, "They will be a fraction of what they once were." Following that, Osma was returned to Remnant to live eternally, but never be alone. And essentially told being with what remains of Salem will only lead to pain. These last two ideals were likely joint shared byt the Gods, which I think can be assumed as they are Neutral relative to creation and destruction and can be used for either. As well as they overlap light and dark in the depiction shown when Qrow talks about them in A Much Needed Talk. Knowledge, was described by Qrow in A Much Needed Talk as being given "so that [man] could learn about itself and the world around it." Choice, in the same episode describe by Qrow as being given "...so man could take everything it learned and choose which path to follow." Now on the "CHEMICAL X!!!" in my powerpuff girls analogy. I think Salem and Osma were given a fifth ideal by the God of Light he didn't intend to give to man, but the Gods are fallible and didn't see its utility. Both of them were given it by only the God of Light, making it strictly a force of light. Again refer to the Lost Fable, and it also comes up in Dead End kind of with Maria. I think they were given something like Preservation, too much of it though, just like the original man was given to much of the first 4 Aspects. This Preservation is what gave them immortality. It is what preserved Salem, but also made her a force of Destruction in the Pool of Grimm. It's what supports Osma's Soul(or whatever). It's what preserves the Maiden's Magic across time. Two beings with excessive amounts of the Preservation Ideal created 4 children with some amount of the Preservation Ideal which caused there magic to live on in similar fashion to Osma. Even the way the powers are passed preferentially on to the last person the maiden thinks of before they die echos the Osma style of Preservation by never passing them on to someone who was alone. The maiden had to be influenced by that person whether they Chose creation or destruction. Also, the Ideal of Preservation was distributed into the human population over time by Osma's "hosts" and the original Maiden's offspring if they exist if, kind of illustrated in the video by Osma's Silver-Eyed Children, but I'll flesh this out later. Preservation really isn't "good" when in excess either though. That leads to immortality, as demonstrated. Optimally a unity of Creation, Destruction, Knowledge, Choice and the intent of Preservation create Balance. For those who argue creation and preservation are the same, I disagree. To create is not to preserve, it is to make new. Excessive creation necessitates destruction. You can not create your way out of excess. But yet Destruction in the name of Preservation can be a good thing. Another example is Death is part of Destruction, yet it is part of the Balance describe in the Lost Fable. When Osma is brought back, the God of Light says it upsets the balance. Those two forces, Creation and Destruction, are the domains of the Gods that in excess are always at odds, always in conflict. But, when enough Knowledge is gained about the yourself and the world around you, then you must Choose, not to create or destroy, but to Preserve the Balance. Now we get to the Silver-Eyes. Which I believe are a manifestation of the -->5
I like this theory. It makes a lot of sense with the lore of the show. The one problem I have with this is the percentage part. If it were just 25%+0%=12ish% then it would eventually dwindle down to negligible. Perhaps it's more like the possibility to activate a latent gene. Like, all humans/faunus have latent genes that would allow them to have magic. However, when they have a parent with the gene activated, it is activated in the child as well.

I like the silver eyes theory with the GoL (God of Light)'s gift to Ozma being passed down to humans but altered, effectively (possibly as part of GoL's plan) giving humanity a way to fight Salem. I also like the idea of magic causing genetic semblances, but I don't think Ozma was the cause of that, but rather the Maidens. I don't think Ozma can pass down his magic genetically as it's attached to his soul not his seed. In the case of his daughters with Salem, I think they inherited magic from Salem and reincarnation from Ozma, although their's was only a way to pass on their power, not their mind (that we know of). "Why would reincarnation be passed on and not magic?" You ask, because of Salem being an immortal/grimm.
maybe GOL put a safeguard to Ozpins soul because if Ozma had these powers he would have tried to use them himself but since he didnt do it he must have carried them unintentinally so even though he has an idea about silver eyes I dont think he knows that much about them
I disagree with the origins or the Shcnee Semblance, I believe Salem is the mother of the Shcnee Semblance, not the Winter Maiden. Also I believe Jaune with his big Aura is descended from a Maiden

Aura is connected Maiden powers, that's the concept the AURA transfer machine worked on (even if Magic can still be used with Aura depleted) 2. all of Salem's kids with Ozma are dead, it's entirely possible she still wanted to fill Remnant with Super humans after that, as Oz had more children afterwards (who appears to be Silver eyed warriors)

I got a feeling the relic sword is underneath Summer's grave though. I mean, we all somehow know now that the maidens have somehow the same name (either coincidence or not) as their maiden elements. Summer, probably the last summer maiden, was said to have died but nobody knows how. It's a mystery that's been circulating since the first volume now. We already know her death has something to do with Salem, but how and what really happened around those times? If Summer indeed was the summer maiden and was killed going through the mission of facing Salem. Which is likely impossible since they know Salem can't be killed just like that so going on a suicide mission? That's very much unlikely. Which means Summer went to a mission that have a different objective either knowing she would die or can no longer return. We still don't know Summer's backstory after all. That's the reason why I'm so curious about this certain "mission" Summer last went to. If she were the maiden, would Ozpin really just allow her to wander to a dangerous mission like that? Which leads to another theory that Summer went without anyone knowing. Remember when Taiyang said she's just suddenly gone? I think it says that nobody truly knows what happened to Summer. But the sword (relic of destruction) is supposed to be in Vacuuo, considering it's a barren desert which was once a nice land but because of human greed it turned out like that. It's, of course, a sign that humans are capable of destruction. So what if all of these things have a connection somehow? And isn't it weird? Salem is perfectly capable of unleashing thousands of grimms and even that giant one and her grimms' empowers themselves through negativity which is you think about it, is advantageous for her if she were to just get take over the four Kingdoms. And Ozpin not finding all of the maidens yet should be advantageous for Salem as well since in that way, if she were to to take over the Kingdoms, she would have access to the vaults more securely. But she doesn't an of that. It's like she's being careful about something. A powerful, probably even th most powerful, is being careful. That leads me to the curiosity behind Summer's death for some reason.
This could be true, but what if Summer isn't dead? In Volume 8 there was a chapter that had shown a Grimm reveal himself to be a silver-eyed Faunus. What if Summer faced that same fate as the Faunus? Salem has heard Ruby and Yang mention Summer but she never said she died (at least to my knowledge). All I've heard is that her family and friends assume she's dead.
I just thought of this but... what if summer rose was the summer maiden even tho her silver eyes would counter attack it. Given she can just get angry and go from zero to 100 without even having to charge it up. And didn't Raven have flames from her maiden powers too?
What I still do not understand in this all thing of the reincarnation is the fact that the god of darkness did not do nothing when his brother struck a deal with Ozma. I mean...was not he the kind of guy that always wants the last word? Would not he want to do sonething on his own?
It doesn't matter if they're related (like very distantly). Everyone's related, anyway. It only gets weird/harmful when they're close relatives, like first cousins or under. In fact, first cousins have the same probability of producing offspring with genetic defects as a woman who gives birth at age 40. The problem comes if that's repeated through generations or if they're closer relatives like parent-child or siblings. In fact, humans are genetically most suited to breed with their third cousins, due to the size of human settlements throughout history and the way groups of genes work together. Just like having too many copies of a defective set of genes can cause loss of fitness (inbreeding depression), not having the genes that work with your other genes also causes a loss of fitness (outbreeding depression).

Interesting, if the silver eyes are Ozpin's descendants I wonder if he ever reincarnated in an ancestor of one of his previous incarnations. If the silver eyes are anti magic, then I don't know if he could reincarnate in someone with them. And I think yes that all children of someone with silver eyes will also have silver eyes. I think the magical aspect of them makes it so silver eyes are always inherited by the children
So will the Oscar + Ruby would make a super silver warrior with silver hair or golden eyes (like metal like shining eyes that offer a deep gold look and that will have some of the maiden traits of power.

I have wondered both of those things for a while now as there is no concrete evidence in the series that she is alive. The guilt all of team STRQ has makes it seem as though Summer died, and the fact she has a tombstone, but no has said what happened. I really hope we find out soon
Considering that there is a grave with an ornate marker, and that both Qrow and Tai talk about her in the past tense, along with Raven, it's a sure bet that Summer isn't alive. But, begging the question, if Summer WAS alive, why the deceptive ruse to prove she's dead to the rest of Remnant? And IF she is alive, where is she? What is she doing after all these years? Why, if knowing the threat of Salem -- she was part of Team STRQ when Ozpin drew them in to speak about it -- is she not looking for Ruby to tell her what to expect? I find this a bit far-fetched to think it's even possible as far as the story has gone in the show.

For this to work I suspect that silver eyes are indeed harmful to maidens, not only Cinder, but I believe that Cinder is extra harmed by the Silver eyes because she got her powers through the Grimm and aura can’t protect Grimm, so logic leads me to believe that once a maiden’s aura is down they’re at least left unable to use their maiden powers (which I believe is just creating elemental dust and manipulating it) at best and just harmed similar to Cinder at worst, but that’s just my opinion. It’s interesting to note that Cinder’s Semblance is Dust Manipulation, which is very complementary to her Maiden Powers, but not the elemental kind, but rather dust as in sand, she just overheated it with the dust sewn into her outfit, which became unnecessary when she got her full maiden powers.
Interesting, I do think that silver eyes might be anti magic but you raise an interesting point, if Summer rose was a maiden then her silver eyes were a double edged sword. If STRQ was in a dire situation where their aura was depleted and they were overrun by Grimm, I could see Summer using her Silver eyes to save her team but dying in the process. I hope they give more of an explanation as to how/why Cinder was hurt so badly and give confirmation on silver eyes one way or another.

Almost there! And unfortunately Raven got the maiden powers after Yang was born, but I think that Yang would be next to inherit the maidens powers if Raven should die, so there is still hope for Yang to have magic
@@PhoenixNight Depends on who Raven is thinking about when she's eventually killed and/or dies. If she is thinking about her daughter, most likely Yang will inherit the Spring Maiden's power. But, if Raven is thinking about someone else, or on purpose doesn't think of anyone as she passes on, the power will jump to someone else (IIRC, what Qrow said to Pyrrah).

Okay, so, i have a weird theory, what if the 4 maidens story is wrong, what if the four maidens are Ozmas & Salem daughters, and they have magic because Oz gave it to them, causing Oz to lose his own, and thats why it started to manifest in a different way (SE)?.

Yeah you're right this video was a little bit wordy. But I do get what you're saying though so logically speaking the silver eyes came from from one of Ozpin's reincarnations because he has a little bit of magic from the God of light within him. So therefore saying that Ruby may also have a little bit of magic from the God of light within her. I don't know as far as someone being born with magic to enhance their semblance buy a lot that statement is a little bit of a stretch we're not actually sure if if it's been entirely confirm that the person born with magic can use it to enhance there semblance high possibility concerning that Ozpin and Salem had children they were born to use magic and then you saw how powerful Cinder when she got the whole fall maiden powers. The wording I used was a bit off I suppose. What I meant by magic enhancing the semblance was that if a person was born with a small amount of magic it would make it so the child had a stronger semblance rather than full magic powers
I think it's possible that it could be both. Magic could give rise to a trait that is anti magic. Both are theories though so until confirmed or denied in the series, they can be considered true and not true at the same time. Schrodinger's theories i suppose 😁
@Whiterose Petal Tale I know that rooster teeth has debunked this over and over, but it never satisfied me, qrow is more of a parent to ruby than tai, they have multiple similarities and if its true,there are logical reasons for him leaving and not revealing himself as Ruby's father, I know that it's been quoted multiple times in the series that ruby and yang are half sisters but I think that they did this for shock value, think back to star wars episode v's I am your father scene, it came as a surprise to many but imagine that same scene but when in previous movies and in the same movie they give clue so obvious that even the blind and deaf could tell that Vader was Luke's father, everyone would be "(sarcastically)wow, didn't see that coming" and there is a chance that rooster teeth is going for this, giving very subtle clues to this possibility: both use scythes, both have crosses, have black hair, etc.... making us think that this is just because they are teacher and student... These are just speculation, remember when qrow was poisoned and he was mumbling in his sleep and he said "she not coming back tai" it might be because they were in the mission together, Qrow's bad luck affected the area and because of it she is dead, her death and knowing that his semblance had something to do with it, he was afraid of the same happening to Ruby so he gave her to tai so she would be safe Qrow might not have revealed it because she's is at an age where if he tells her this out of the blue everything she knows will be scrambled, yang is not her sister, tai isn't her father, etc. If this theory is true I'm picturing (unfortunately) qrow dying and either he or maybe someone else like tai reveals this... Again this is a theory so don't go hating or roasting me...
It seems unlikely that Raven has been the Spring Maiden for the past 20 years, but if she had been, it would explain Yang's hair seemingly lighting on fire when her Semblance is active.
Apparently, as other people in the comments are saying, the silver eyes coming from Ozma's children was confirmed in the Volume 6 DVD commentary. I have yet to confirm it for myself though

You should also take a look at the Arc family, they have an absurd amount of aura, another potential "mutation" of magic being in the bloodline, it was never stated in the show that Ozma's and Salems daughters died..or at least all of them, one could have survived and been the progenitor of the Arc family, reason why I think this is possible, well, the Arcs pretty much ALL have blond hair and blue eyes...kinda like a certain evil witch queen before the witch part, not to mention the Arc family crest resembles Salems old family crest.
Could also be the reason why Oz let Jaune into the school, he might have felt that he has some-kind of responsibility towards his distant descendant.

One of my theories is that, It's quite possible that Jaunes father forwent Jaunes training even tho it seems like their family norm to produce fighters, reason being that Jaunes father knows the family roots and was afraid what could happen to his only son if he got involved in the war against Salem. I am hoping that we will meet his father soon, since he is said to be such a strong warrior, I'm sure eventually such an individual will make an appearance.

I love how you almost got sidetracked into talking about the two brother's "gender". Ozma creating silver eyed children is and intriguing theory though there isn't much detail regarding the rules of reincarnation aside from being (presumably) male and that their aura resonates with his.
It also seems, based on the names we do know, that he always reincarnates into someone who has a name (first, middle, or last) that starts with the "oz" sound (though that has yet to be confirmed)

I had a bit of a theory about the Dust crystals that we've seen through out the series, I believe that the dust crystals is fossilized magic from the first iteration of humanity, before the god of darkness massacred them, although I don't know if that means that they also contain anything else like human essence for that matter.
That would stand, if there were any bodies or bones left behind. Though, looking back at the episode, it appears all the people on the planet -- save Salem -- were vaporized. Nothing remained behind to be fossilized.

I thought dust came from the moon and i mean it makes sense when you think about. They once talked about how dust doesn't work in the upper atmosphere for some reason unexplained. So it make sense that dust came from the moon and and it's shards crashing down and hiding away in the dirt. Most notably, in atlas, where there is the most dust.

Ozma lied about "gifting" his magic to four maidens. It was an easier story to tell than the fact that "we're fighting my immortal ex wife who wants to kill me ever since we split up and our fight resulted in the deaths of our four children.....who happened to be reborn".....see, the maidens were reincarnations of his daughters...daughters he had with salem....daughters who inherited from him, a similar method of reincarnation and a genetic access/capacity to perform feats of magic (inherited from ozma and salem both). But their method of passing on the maiden powers, and the aura it's tied to...the aura, that is the embodiment of ozma and salem's daughters souls is a bit different. it attempts to find a FEMALE host (female soul), in which to inhabit, preferring a young able-bodied one who the previous maiden was thinking about at the time of their death.
It could be possible, if you think back to the first time Ruby meets Ozpin and his first sentence is "You have silver eyes." It could be that Ozpin already new they would show up but was curious and new that silver eyes had finally surfaced after many years of his current reincarnation.

Those who embody the relics are the Arbiters; the Maidens and that's more in regards to symbolism. Raven is the Arbiter of Knowledge who allowed what she knew to eventually overtake and diminish her.
Presumably Cinder is the Arbiter of Choice, but we have not seen anything to that as of yet. She seems focused on her single path.
Summoning may be a result of being Arbiters of the Relic of Creation, I won't say that it is not suspicious.

In my perspective they were complete Hippocrates who punished a woman with an immortality curse because she didn't respect death, meanwhile brought back her lover anyway and either purposefully or naively put them against each other. The whole plan was quite dumb or convoluted to be useful in practice. But they did it anyway, or rather the light god did, the dark god was just a jealous little brother throwing a tantrum who wiped out all of humanity because of the acts of some stupid leaders and soldiers. The gods are kind of overpowered jerks, so I kind of want them to stay away from remnant.

Since aura is a fraction of magic but semblances are a kind of refined form of an individual's aura, I would say semblances are a bit closer to the true form of magic, and so would make sense that a genetic enhancement from magic would foremost surface in the form of a super semblance (coincidentally, in my own rwby fanfic, the wizard of that universe gives 4 random huntsmen super semblances boosted by his magic).
For magic to manifest in the form of eyes, which mirrors the Light Dragon's eyes, the only link I can think of is as you mentioned, through Ozma's reincarnation from the Light Dragon.
I wonder though, could it be possible for someone not related to Ozma to have a silver eyes like semblance; and Grimm bane? Because Ren's semblance is really similar to how Maria said she could blind Grimm (although Ren's is far more subtle).

An anti-Grimm semblance could be possible, it seems that semblances can be almost anything within reason and that would fit very well in the World of Remnant, though it wouldn't be as strong as the silver eyes
Maria's actual semblance is technically spidey-sense. She called it reflexes. She essentially could almost predict what would happen and was able to dodge away from danger, much like Spider-Man.

Last time I viewed the episode that dealt with Ozma/Ozpin and Salem's past, it looked like Salem killed the kids in that first attack against Ozma's first reincarnated form. Plus the fact that the house was a flaming ruin while they fought -- and how intensely they fought -- so, it doesn't look like the kids made it out alive. Plus, if they actually DID have the ability to reincarnate, shouldn't they have the means to recognize themselves and know Ozma in any body he reincarnates into?
Assuming that they did reincarnate, you would think that after several hundred years they would finally get fused with a random kid rather than sleeping in the people the reincarnate into and begin retaining enough memory between each body to accidently stumble upon Oz, or at least notice a combat genius that weilds a very similar cane appear at most a few years after the previous cane wielders death but never before there death. They would presumably look into them in the hope that they were also immortal and willing to spend some of that time together becuase by then, they would have realized how bleak eternal life is without anyone to share it with. Except no such being exists as far as we can tell, which only reduces the odds that such a being ever could have existed.
I'm not against headcanon despite what my previous comment might imply. heck, I believe ruby is Qrows daughter that came about from a single drunken fling between him and summer. this bit of headcanon fits all we know about qrow and summer. unless some new information comes out that disproves that having ever possibly happened, my headcanon will stand. my issue with your headcanon is that it should have a large effect on the story if it were true that isnt there.
there is also the issue of the curse being more likely to infect the children between ozma and regular people becuase their magical potential is lower. yet the only thing to come of that are the silver eyes, not the entire curse. it would make more sense for the entire curse to be transferred to the half magical kids than it would for fully magical ones, but it wasn't, making the fully magical kids reincarnation even less likely to be even possible.
TLDR I dont have an issue with headcanon, but I do have an issue with headcanon that both lacks a basis and would drastically change the plot of the story if it were true.
I like how this implies that Ozpin might consider Ruby his granddaughter or something, that makes Salem the evil wolf grandmother/evil step mother.

Just tossing out a thought, but it could be possible that Ozma/Ozpin does have lineage from each of the lives he has lived, giving Salem a personal hatred for Ozpin's bloodlines too (silver eyes). While on the other hand, the Shnee bloodline could have come from Salem's side, her daughters having families with normal humans...this would make it a poetic twist to have Weiss and Ruby as partners who overcame their starting disputes and are now close friends. It wouldn't surprise me if RT uses those two to bring peace between Ozpin and Salem.
Given what we've seen and been told from the show, it's apparent that magic is indeed tied to one's soul just like aura and semblance with the difference being that you can still use magic even if your aura is depleted but you CAN'T use semblance with no aura. However, it's possible that this is only the case because it's Ozma's borrowed magic being used by the individuals we've seen with this limitation instead of something that's natural to them. Case in point, Ozma's gifted magic seemingly doesn't allow those who inherit it to pass it along genetically like they would the ability to use aura or semblance. On the contrary, Ozma's gifted magic seems to follow the same rules as HIS reincarnated soul being that the power actually leaves the maidens upon their death and seeks out a new host.
While I don't particularly subscribe to the theory you're describing yet. I will say it was well composed, your ability to think on your feet without a script is laudable.
I'm not sure I believe that Semblance refers to lost remnants of magic. To me a Semblance is a semblance of a person's personality, only because magic so far seems to be control over the elements (and transformation... apparently) and judging by Salem's Summoning ability, may also be related to magic, ergo I believe the only Semblance which is related to magic from what we've seen has been the Schnee Summoning as the Glyphs, while powerful and versatile, I'm not sure they constitute as magic.
But those are just my thoughts. Your thoughts were described strongly and lucidly.
I disagree, using what we saw in the category of Dust/Semblance, and what we saw in the category of Magic, there's no way to tell which is which unless we're told, as Qrow's tranformation doesn't break a single rule, (Ruby changes shape, Flynt quadruple his mass, Wiess has more than one ablity (which is even more different than Qrow's Crow and Bad Luck))

I agree that semblance refers to a semblance of a person's personality but it could also be a double meaning of it's relation to magic. It seems magic can take many forms so in time hopefully we will get more of an explanation to find out one way or another
The parts about the genetics, inheritance possibilities, and magic's impact on Semblances made sense.
But, the part about those two kids of one of Oz's past lives/hosts having Silver Eyes is a pretty big assumption; their eyes could simply be grey, or some shade of blue (Like Winter's). It's way too difficult to discern grey or certain shades of blue from silver, so until a RWBY writer comes out and confirms that they did, in fact, have Silver Eyes, or (preferably) it's said plainly and outright in the show itself, I can't take it as a fact.
It's been confirmed that they are Silver Eyes by the animators. They have the "nitches" in the eyes that all Silver Eyed Warriors have had since V2.
@@HighPriestFuneral That's fair, but I still feel that the writers are the higher authority over animators in these cases, since writers have way more of a say and an impact in the overall story and the story canon and world-building. So, while an animator's confirmation does make me lean a bit more into believing it, it's still not good enough to make me buy into it fully.
This is why I believe it's just so much easier if they just said this stuff plainly in one of the episodes, or even in a World Of Remnant clip; that way, there is no question about it.

I had been think of this same thing myself but you bring up some very interesting ideas that I had never thought about. especially about silver eyes being genetic, considering that neither Ozma's incarnation or wife had silver eyes yet the kids do.
I feel like some points were missed or not fully explored when this was made if you pull information across volumes. I agree with everything, kind of. PS this will come around to silver eye's in the end. I'll be referring to Destruction, Creation, Knowledge and Choice as Ideals as this is how the God of Light referrers to them in The Lost Fable, just an FYI.
So, In volume 4 we learn of the creation of man. Created like the powerpuff girls, with Destruction, Creation, Knowledge, Choice. Those are further elaborated on throughout the series.
Destruction, being the primary domain of the dark god, was the gift he instilled in man. Magic is an extension of destruction, this is supported if not confirmed in the episode The Lost Fable, the dark god says(referring to magic), "My own gift to them, used against me?" Where all the magic humans used against him culminated into a purple ball(his symbolic color in the ideals of man) that he uses to DESTROY all of man kind. Except Salem. She was given a fifth gift, by the God of Light specifically, not given to the rest of man, but I'll get to that later.
Creation, the primary domain of the God of light. Creation is pretty simple but expansive, it is the ability to make new things. I think reproduction and the passing of genetics fall under the aspect of creation, lending toward the points in your video. I think this might also be related to evolution and how Semblences manifested as well as the Faunus even, but I'm not 100% on that. The second iteration of man isn't devoid of the 4 ideals of man the first iteration, they just have less. To quote the God of light again in The Lost Fable, "They will be a fraction of what they once were." Following that, Osma was returned to Remnant to live eternally, but never be alone. And essentially told being with what remains of Salem will only lead to pain.
These last two ideals were likely joint shared byt the Gods, which I think can be assumed as they are Neutral relative to creation and destruction and can be used for either. As well as they overlap light and dark in the depiction shown when Qrow talks about them in A Much Needed Talk.
Knowledge, was described by Qrow in A Much Needed Talk as being given "so that [man] could learn about itself and the world around it."
Choice, in the same episode describe by Qrow as being given "...so man could take everything it learned and choose which path to follow."
Now on the "CHEMICAL X!!!" in my powerpuff girls analogy. I think Salem and Osma were given a fifth ideal by the God of Light he didn't intend to give to man, but the Gods are fallible and didn't see its utility. Both of them were given it by only the God of Light, making it strictly a force of light. Again refer to the Lost Fable, and it also comes up in Dead End kind of with Maria. I think they were given something like Preservation, too much of it though, just like the original man was given to much of the first 4 Aspects. This Preservation is what gave them immortality. It is what preserved Salem, but also made her a force of Destruction in the Pool of Grimm. It's what supports Osma's Soul(or whatever). It's what preserves the Maiden's Magic across time. Two beings with excessive amounts of the Preservation Ideal created 4 children with some amount of the Preservation Ideal which caused there magic to live on in similar fashion to Osma. Even the way the powers are passed preferentially on to the last person the maiden thinks of before they die echos the Osma style of Preservation by never passing them on to someone who was alone. The maiden had to be influenced by that person whether they Chose creation or destruction. Also, the Ideal of Preservation was distributed into the human population over time by Osma's "hosts" and the original Maiden's offspring if they exist if, kind of illustrated in the video by Osma's Silver-Eyed Children, but I'll flesh this out later.
Preservation really isn't "good" when in excess either though. That leads to immortality, as demonstrated. Optimally a unity of Creation, Destruction, Knowledge, Choice and the intent of Preservation create Balance. For those who argue creation and preservation are the same, I disagree. To create is not to preserve, it is to make new. Excessive creation necessitates destruction. You can not create your way out of excess. But yet Destruction in the name of Preservation can be a good thing. Another example is Death is part of Destruction, yet it is part of the Balance describe in the Lost Fable. When Osma is brought back, the God of Light says it upsets the balance. Those two forces, Creation and Destruction, are the domains of the Gods that in excess are always at odds, always in conflict. But, when enough Knowledge is gained about the yourself and the world around you, then you must Choose, not to create or destroy, but to Preserve the Balance.
Now we get to the Silver-Eyes. Which I believe are a manifestation of the -->5
I like this theory. It makes a lot of sense with the lore of the show. The one problem I have with this is the percentage part. If it were just 25%+0%=12ish% then it would eventually dwindle down to negligible. Perhaps it's more like the possibility to activate a latent gene. Like, all humans/faunus have latent genes that would allow them to have magic. However, when they have a parent with the gene activated, it is activated in the child as well.

I like the silver eyes theory with the GoL (God of Light)'s gift to Ozma being passed down to humans but altered, effectively (possibly as part of GoL's plan) giving humanity a way to fight Salem. I also like the idea of magic causing genetic semblances, but I don't think Ozma was the cause of that, but rather the Maidens. I don't think Ozma can pass down his magic genetically as it's attached to his soul not his seed. In the case of his daughters with Salem, I think they inherited magic from Salem and reincarnation from Ozma, although their's was only a way to pass on their power, not their mind (that we know of). "Why would reincarnation be passed on and not magic?" You ask, because of Salem being an immortal/grimm.

I got a feeling the relic sword is underneath Summer's grave though. I mean, we all somehow know now that the maidens have somehow the same name (either coincidence or not) as their maiden elements. Summer, probably the last summer maiden, was said to have died but nobody knows how. It's a mystery that's been circulating since the first volume now. We already know her death has something to do with Salem, but how and what really happened around those times? If Summer indeed was the summer maiden and was killed going through the mission of facing Salem.
Which is likely impossible since they know Salem can't be killed just like that so going on a suicide mission? That's very much unlikely. Which means Summer went to a mission that have a different objective either knowing she would die or can no longer return. We still don't know Summer's backstory after all. That's the reason why I'm so curious about this certain "mission" Summer last went to. If she were the maiden, would Ozpin really just allow her to wander to a dangerous mission like that?
Which leads to another theory that Summer went without anyone knowing. Remember when Taiyang said she's just suddenly gone? I think it says that nobody truly knows what happened to Summer. But the sword (relic of destruction) is supposed to be in Vacuuo, considering it's a barren desert which was once a nice land but because of human greed it turned out like that. It's, of course, a sign that humans are capable of destruction.
So what if all of these things have a connection somehow? And isn't it weird? Salem is perfectly capable of unleashing thousands of grimms and even that giant one and her grimms' empowers themselves through negativity which is you think about it, is advantageous for her if she were to just get take over the four Kingdoms. And Ozpin not finding all of the maidens yet should be advantageous for Salem as well since in that way, if she were to to take over the Kingdoms, she would have access to the vaults more securely. But she doesn't an of that. It's like she's being careful about something. A powerful, probably even th most powerful, is being careful. That leads me to the curiosity behind Summer's death for some reason.
This could be true, but what if Summer isn't dead? In Volume 8 there was a chapter that had shown a Grimm reveal himself to be a silver-eyed Faunus. What if Summer faced that same fate as the Faunus? Salem has heard Ruby and Yang mention Summer but she never said she died (at least to my knowledge). All I've heard is that her family and friends assume she's dead.

In fact, first cousins have the same probability of producing offspring with genetic defects as a woman who gives birth at age 40. The problem comes if that's repeated through generations or if they're closer relatives like parent-child or siblings. In fact, humans are genetically most suited to breed with their third cousins, due to the size of human settlements throughout history and the way groups of genes work together. Just like having too many copies of a defective set of genes can cause loss of fitness (inbreeding depression), not having the genes that work with your other genes also causes a loss of fitness (outbreeding depression).

I have wondered both of those things for a while now as there is no concrete evidence in the series that she is alive. The guilt all of team STRQ has makes it seem as though Summer died, and the fact she has a tombstone, but no has said what happened. I really hope we find out soon
Considering that there is a grave with an ornate marker, and that both Qrow and Tai talk about her in the past tense, along with Raven, it's a sure bet that Summer isn't alive. But, begging the question, if Summer WAS alive, why the deceptive ruse to prove she's dead to the rest of Remnant? And IF she is alive, where is she? What is she doing after all these years? Why, if knowing the threat of Salem -- she was part of Team STRQ when Ozpin drew them in to speak about it -- is she not looking for Ruby to tell her what to expect? I find this a bit far-fetched to think it's even possible as far as the story has gone in the show.

Perhaps if Silver Eyes are anti magic, then Summer was the Summer maiden, but when she used her silver eyes she killed herself.
For this to work I suspect that silver eyes are indeed harmful to maidens, not only Cinder, but I believe that Cinder is extra harmed by the Silver eyes because she got her powers through the Grimm and aura can’t protect Grimm, so logic leads me to believe that once a maiden’s aura is down they’re at least left unable to use their maiden powers (which I believe is just creating elemental dust and manipulating it) at best and just harmed similar to Cinder at worst, but that’s just my opinion. It’s interesting to note that Cinder’s Semblance is Dust Manipulation, which is very complementary to her Maiden Powers, but not the elemental kind, but rather dust as in sand, she just overheated it with the dust sewn into her outfit, which became unnecessary when she got her full maiden powers.
Interesting, I do think that silver eyes might be anti magic but you raise an interesting point, if Summer rose was a maiden then her silver eyes were a double edged sword. If STRQ was in a dire situation where their aura was depleted and they were overrun by Grimm, I could see Summer using her Silver eyes to save her team but dying in the process. I hope they give more of an explanation as to how/why Cinder was hurt so badly and give confirmation on silver eyes one way or another.

@@PhoenixNight Depends on who Raven is thinking about when she's eventually killed and/or dies. If she is thinking about her daughter, most likely Yang will inherit the Spring Maiden's power. But, if Raven is thinking about someone else, or on purpose doesn't think of anyone as she passes on, the power will jump to someone else (IIRC, what Qrow said to Pyrrah).

So therefore saying that Ruby may also have a little bit of magic from the God of light within her. The wording I used was a bit off I suppose. What I meant by magic enhancing the semblance was that if a person was born with a small amount of magic it would make it so the child had a stronger semblance rather than full magic powers

I think it's possible that it could be both. Magic could give rise to a trait that is anti magic. Both are theories though so until confirmed or denied in the series, they can be considered true and not true at the same time. Schrodinger's theories i suppose 😁

@Whiterose Petal Tale I know that rooster teeth has debunked this over and over, but it never satisfied me, qrow is more of a parent to ruby than tai, they have multiple similarities and if its true,there are logical reasons for him leaving and not revealing himself as Ruby's father, I know that it's been quoted multiple times in the series that ruby and yang are half sisters but I think that they did this for shock value, think back to star wars episode v's I am your father scene, it came as a surprise to many but imagine that same scene but when in previous movies and in the same movie they give clue so obvious that even the blind and deaf could tell that Vader was Luke's father, everyone would be "(sarcastically)wow, didn't see that coming" and there is a chance that rooster teeth is going for this, giving very subtle clues to this possibility: both use scythes, both have crosses, have black hair, etc.... making us think that this is just because they are teacher and student...
These are just speculation, remember when qrow was poisoned and he was mumbling in his sleep and he said "she not coming back tai" it might be because they were in the mission together, Qrow's bad luck affected the area and because of it she is dead, her death and knowing that his semblance had something to do with it, he was afraid of the same happening to Ruby so he gave her to tai so she would be safe
Qrow might not have revealed it because she's is at an age where if he tells her this out of the blue everything she knows will be scrambled, yang is not her sister, tai isn't her father, etc.
If this theory is true I'm picturing (unfortunately) qrow dying and either he or maybe someone else like tai reveals this...

Apparently, as other people in the comments are saying, the silver eyes coming from Ozma's children was confirmed in the Volume 6 DVD commentary. I have yet to confirm it for myself though
