@@justaweebwithsubjectivetas9019 I know right! I don’t know if you remember, but the dude very accurately predicted Tyrian’s semblance before we saw it in volume 7.
Part of me thought it was during the fight at Haven because after Cinder stabbed her. She was unconscious and practically on death's door until "tall, blond, and scraggly over there" saved her with his semblance
I thought Weiss almost dying and getting revived was her representation of falling asleep and getting revived ironically by her “prince charming” that she has rejected since the beginning of the story.
Honestly think it's a reflection of those times. How typically, a step-parent is jealous, envious, or hates the idea of having to raise a child that is not their own. Couple this with the fact that they may be two women that don't like each other. Keep in mind, during this time, it was more likely men were to bring their children from previous marriages into their current one. Women back then died of childbirth, disease, and harsh conditions. Back then, marriage was very important, because the family unit was needed to survive. And most women back then were virgins, as it was looked down upon for both sexes to be promiscuous. No village wanted bastard children running around, so marriage and the family unit was considered ideal and something to be strived for. Why these stories often depict step-mothers hating their step-daughters.....well, is probably self-explanatory. The daughter was the husband's (the king's) little princess. The one the husband loved more than anything because that was his daughter (and in the case of this story, all his children.) The step-mother wanted them gone because she didn't want to raise another's children. She also likely didn't want to share the man, wanted her own children, and wanted what the man could provide all to herself. I think these old stories are more reflective of human nature itself, but told in magical and fantasy-like stories. n this way, they persist long after those who created them are gone. As for the other step-mother not liking the queen. You could just chalk that up to female nature. Not trying to come off as sexist, but it could also be reflective of how competitive women were when trying to find a man to settle down with. Back then, all men had to be strong, and get into a trade that was productive and provided for the entire village. Meaning men often had the responsibility of maintaining their society. The women being left to take care of the children and the house. While men had to brave dangers outside their communities. Bring in supplies, hunt for food, fix and resolve issues as well as their homes. It was a time in which everyone had to do something to keep society going. Men were high-value because they provided all these things to women and their children. So the women did everything they could to appear as high-value wives. Including spreading rumors and gossip about each other. They essentially were trying to sabotage each other to get rid of any threat to their claims on a man. And with how oblivious men are to the evil step-mothers in these fairy-tales, it reflects just how oblivious men were to what women got up to. Cause they were too busy fawning over their wives. They loved their children and their women, and so were unaware of what one may do to the other. The idea was ridiculous to these men, cause they wouldn't believe someone they loved would do that to them. Plus, women were believed to be harmless for the most part, so that also played a part in skewing their perceptions.
Pretty sure the design on the poster is the same label on the bottle Willow was drinking from last volume, nice wee connection there, its little things like that that i love, I think the neo theory is great but what if its a hint to willow finally 'breaking her silence' on the horrors of the schnee family this volume?
hmm neo has always had something around her neck if i remember right there is a tale about a girl with ribbons that if she take it off her head gets dropped
For the story about the lady with a ribbon on her neck doesn't really makes much sense, considering she only has been wearing a necklace in volume 2-5 and only recently changed to an ascot scarf or a necktie that is around her neck. And this story can't really make Neo interesting other than perhaps foreshadow her dying by having her head sliced or amputated. ( I mean, rwby has used character inspiration for deaths before.)
I think she is a mix of Mary Poppins, Harely Quinn(to Romans sane(ish) Joker), and the Penguin. Kind of like how Adam was a fucked up mix of the Beast gone horribly wrong and Gaston.
Well, her original inspiration was just a Fem!Roman cosplay the writers saw and liked. That later when they started fleshing her out more they added other characters to the mix such as Mary Poppins isn't that far of a stretch. And seeing how "blank" the original idea was, they could fit more inspirations than with other characters.
Also consider this, Neo's first appearance was in volume 2, and now we're in Volume 8. Granted she didn't appear in volumes 4 and 5, but still. Edit: Oop nevermind mentioned it lol
The story kind of reminds me of a song called “The Silver Swan” that I had to sing for choir. It was about a swan that never made a sound while she was alive.
8:47 in my opinion salem already plays the role of rapunzel as well as wicked witch so no problem she has the role of witches in the history of neo, cinder etc.
Ya gotta remember that back in the day kids were... not as coddled and protected. For better or worse. That's why they had so many. High fatality rate.
@@IceQueen975 One of the parents intentionally hid his children away so that his wife couldn't do anything to them; and the other 3 children we heirs to the throne they would have been watched like a hawk to keep them from disappearing especially after the first child went missing.
Burned at the stake.... Cinder has the fall maiden powers, which basically is fire. What if cinder herself gets burned for her treating neo badly. The one woman gets punished for what she did to the silent girl in the fairy tale. The girl was supposed to be burned, and once she spoke the woman got punished.
Neo having a connection with the 6 swans? Maybe another possibility she is the magic mirror, as in her powerset. And must serve a "royal" cinder a dark princess instead of a dark queen.
I mean, plenty of characters have multiple allusions. You can't tell me, based off her weapon design, that Ruby wasn't also partially based off the Grim Reaper, or that Hazel didn't have some inspiration from Bane. That and Neo was initially a minor character, and her outfit always did scream Mary Poppins

I used to be selectively mute for some time as a kid, so personally i would find any story about Neo being 'fixed' kinda hurtful. Yes, i eventually got to speak at will again, but i don't think that i should've felt so isolated and broken because of it. @@sqxbarto9229 Oh. Well that's good at least. Still, there aren't many mute characters in representation. And when there are they're usually deaf as well. Which isn't a problem. It's just that as is Neo is unique.
I feel like Neo could be based off of The Little Mermaid. Maybe in Neo’s past she went after love and had her voice taken by a witch (Salem) until she found her true love (Roman) in which her voice would be returned, but the witch turned on her and stole/killed her true love so Neo will forever be silent until something big happens like Salem’s defeat.
Roman Holiday confirms that Neo's muteness is congenital. Also, Eddy has confirmed that she actually alludes to Hecate from Greek mythology, also known as Trivia
Just a thought, If Salem gets the staff of creation and is about to use it, it shatters and Neo has it, uses it to tell her No! Then raises atlas out of reach just to spite the woman who took Roman from her. I would love that.
Such an awesome and constant flow of theories/ideas on this channel. Keeps me intrigued and excited about the possibilities with the RWBY series! Thank you for your passion and dedication to the fandom. 😀
Dayum, I love your theories, they're always so deep and very convincing. The only down side to them is that it gives RT too much credit for creativity. I know I enjoy hearing these over actually watching the series up to volume 7 finale
Whatever the case, I do think that Neo is starting to believe that she's in over her head after having met Salem. Also I can see Neo speaking being used as some form of comic relief for which I would not complain.
small note: I believe the whale in the background of Pietro's office was a nod to the story of Pinocchio which both Penny and Pietro are based off of. Could be foreshadowing at the same time, idk.
6 main characters fell through into the Ever After. If we take Neo as the silent princess, it could still be 6 if we count Alyx if she's there, or Summer Rose if that's where she disappeared to, or someone who was knocked through by Cinder's initial blast whom we don't know about, possibly someone we have already met.
When you mentioned about the possibility of a Grimm that can take away someone's voice 8:09, I instantly thought of when Ursula from the Little Mermaid took away Ariel's voice in exchange for her having human legs.
I had never heard of the 6 swans story, very interesting connection. We all love neo how she is and if she suddenly started talking alot it would really change things. Maybe give her like a silent Bob approach where she normally doesn't speak at all but maybe give her 1 word or a whole paragraph speech. Just to see everyones reaction to her suddenly giving a long winded speech when it really seems appropriate
looking at the fact that voice is Casey Lee Wiliams is a singer. I'm thinking Ariel from the little Mermaid. This could be her getting to sing later in the series if she does survive the volume. Also the transformation that happens to Ariel during the movie, though there are several versions of this we have seen hints that Disney version might not say it all.
I bet Summer is Red Riding Hood's grandma and Ruby is on her way to see her Weiss's long sleep probably was her time in house arrest What if Yang is both Goldilocks and the bears? Then Bumblebee makes more sense as a Beauty and the Beast ship
I read a slightly different version of the Six Swans story, where the the tunics were suppose to be made out of asters, not nettles, and the reason the daughter didn't get cursed along with her brothers is that when the kids saw someone approaching the castle their father had hidden them in, the brothers ran outside, thinking it was their father, while the girl stayed inside, and after the brothers were transformed, the stepmom left, because she didn't know about the daughter.
I’d also like to point out as I feel it might be related to the fairy tail. Salem’s team has six active members not including Neo or Wats (as he is captured, but if he escapes he could take The place of the sixth.) . The active members are Emerald, Mercury, Hazel, Tyrion, Cinder, and Salem herself. And Cinder’s left arm is a her Grimm arm. This might be grasping but I think it could be related to Neo’s role this volume and her fairy tail inspiration.
Just throwin" this out there, The Grimm hunter Salem sends to get Oscar is.....Summer Rose.... transformed into a Grimm by Salem. Fits the really dark mood, and what would hurt Ruby more? Phoenix posed the transformation theory in the vid. The Grimms eyes were missing, what happens to the silver eyes warriors Maria? Remember...dark man REALLY dark. Phoenix, man you're a RWBY genius !!
This is an interesting theory, especially for Neo, if she meets up with the heroes when she turns against Cinder along with Emerald as in the intro the two of them were on the heroes side while Cinder walk past them, maybe will get get our backstory for Neo. I had a theory in kind that if she meets Ruby in the future, I imagined a situation that Ruby will want to fight her but Neo wants to communicate, but as she is mute I cam imagine an idea that I got from the Steven Universe episode, Monster Reunion, where Steven got Centipeedle to draw about her time as a soldier in the Gem war. I can imagine Ruby will do the same as she will ask Neo to draw about what happened with her and Cinder and her backstory of how she met Roman etc ^^ #Redemption4Neo ^^
I remember reading a version were a warlock cast a curse on the Kings kingdom and would only lift it if the king would make his daughter marry the warlock. The king pretended to agree, but sent his daughter far away as he didn’t trust him and his sons were turned into swans as punishment. The sons couldn’t turn human except on a full moon or something and they also couldn’t talk themselves or their sister would die I think? It’s been a while since I read it, but it was my favorite story as a child. Anyway, the princess had to leave her cozy little cottage and had forgotten she was a princess because she was so young when she was sent away, she took shelter in a cave one night and had a dream where an Angel or goddess or something appeared in her dream and told her who she really was and those swans that always followed her and left her gifts were her brothers and the only way to break the curse was to sew shirts of rose petals undying the thorns as needles and the leaves for string and not talk at all until she was finished, yes it was really that complicated I should know I demolished a rose bush trying to copy her because I thought if I put a shirt like the ones she made on a swan it’d turn into my prince charming... I was eight... anyway instead of a king it was a merchant and his wife who grew prize winning rose bushes that everyone who saw them admired. The princess tried to silently protest going with them, but ultimately ended up going. When she was almost done, only a cuff to go on the sixth shirt she ran out of roses, so she decided to use the roses of the merchant and his wife, but was caught by them and they started yelling at her which caused her brothers to attack and as the merchant went to get his gun the princess quickly put the shirts on her brothers and they turned human with the sixth one still having a few feathers on his arm and the princess explained everything and even replaced the roses after returning to her kingdom. Now I know that probably isn’t relevant, but I feel like maybe Neo knew Summer and that’s part of why she has an obsession with Ruby, perhaps the Rose bloodline is crucial to breaking the curse (possibly because of the silver eyes thing) I mean I know it seems to be she want revenge for Torchwick (forgive spelling) dying and it probably is but considering one translated version put a heavy emphasis on roses breaking the curse I think it could be possible. Probably not likely but still possible
I absolutely love these theories but....wasn’t Neo a last minute character added to the story in V2? I thought she legit is only based off of Neapolitan ice cream (no hate, just recalling) I also hope Neo doesn’t talk. She’s such a great character partly for her communicating through expressions
Yeah, but all characters can have back story added to them. I write books and I had a character that’s entire purpose was to be backstory for another main character. Them I gave them a full fledged storyline for themselves and still managed to connect it with hopefully no raised eyebrows
Salem could take on multiple fairytale roles, we already have Ozpin who does so. She could easily be the evil stepmother that cursed them as she had 6 original followers (Hazel, Tyrian, Watts (now Neo), Emerald, Mercury and Cinder). Cinder could also be based on 2 fairytales, one offcourse being the Cinderella and the second being the youngest child of "The six swans" that had the wing for an arm and Cinder has the grimm arm. Ozpin as well, as he's offcourse being the liar, being the Wizard of Oz. Ozpin also being in Oscar's body being the man with 2 souls, based on the tale of Jekyll and Hyde. Lastly Ozpin is also based on Oden who had his messengers being 2 ravens (Qrow and Raven).
I'd want her to get a backstory but Neo being silent makes her much more interesting than having a voice. Instead of a vow for 6 years, you could plausibly twist the vow into a curse that permanently takes away her voice but people know that actions speak louder than words. I hope eventually Neo is a redeemable character after having been a crimminal and joins Ruby's group.
I believe her being mute has something to do with her semblance, neo uses a mirrors reflection which makes it easy for her to copy or escape. And as we could see in volume 2 in the fight with Rowan and her escape, when Yang pounced up at them trying to finish the battle a shattering sound of a mirrow and shards appear.
So, the most popular fairy tale inspiration theory for Neo is Mary Poppins because of the umbrella, in particular flying on it like at the end of V3. That said, there are definitely characters with multiple allusions, such as Qrow being both Munin and the Scarecrow or Salem being both the Wicked Witch and Rapunzel, so she could reasonably be both. That said, I personally really don't want her to speak. A big part of why Neo is so loved by the fandom is her use of dramatic physical expressions over any intelligible language, and it would detract from the character if she were to communicate how others typically do. And regardless of that, as someone living with a disability, I don't think it sends a good message if she just stops being mute rather than her method of working around it. On a less related note, I've been working on a Neo origin theory. We've seen her semblance do stationary shattering illusions, moving disguises, and maybe teleportation, which logically should be at least two semblances (I'd argue three). She also has multicolored hair, which we can see the real image of when her disguises break; based on where she's been recently, it seems to naturally take on those colors, which seems a bit unusual. My theory is that she was the victim of some sort of aura experiment, the results of which made the transfer machine in Volume 3, and got two other people's auras forced into her own. The damage from this process rendered her mute, but the aura stuff caused the hair coloration and produced the additional semblances. And, we already know there's at least one Atlesian scientist of questionable ethics who worked with Pietro (the guy who put aura in a robot) in the past.
What always interested me about Neo was her semblance and the effect of shattering glass. It seems so out of place when the rest of the character just screams ice cream, and the fairy tale itself doesn't seem to mention glass in specific at any point. It could possibly be tied to the design on her umbrella with a stained glass sort of design, but I don't think that's all there is to it. Semblances are 'manifestations of the soul' so to speak, a bit of a vague explanation but it could easily be interpreted as a personality of the character becoming a power, in a way. Blake gives an explanation for hers and running away in Volume 2 I think? Don't quote me on that. But this can easily apply to other characters, Ruby is a giddy little kid so her semblance makes her go fast (at least in the first few volumes before she begins to mature) Ren has his emotions a bit more bottled up than others, so on and so forth. The connection and its strength varies from character to character and I could very well be making a mistake here, since the books might just throw all this out the window. But, if this interpretation is correct, it wouldn't make much sense why Neo's 'manifestation' can break so easily, and in such an elaborate fashion too. Weiss' Arma and Sun's clones just sorta poof out of existence, Blake's act like, well shadows, yet Neo gets glass. If the idea of a Grimm raid is true, or just a raid in general, then Neo probably developed her semblance there. attaching it to the idea of broken glass (windows breaking, dishes, maybe even ice if it's clear enough). This is predicated on a lot of maybes and theories so it's more a hypothesis than anything. On another note a vow of silence seems like the most likely explanation for Neo's lack of speech. She's clearly confident in herself and doesn't seem to be harbouring any trauma or damage to her psyche (that we know of) so I doubt it's psychological. She doesn't have any kind of scars or anything that would suggest an injury, from the outside at least. Not to mention Torchwick never seems to comment on Neo's muteness, there's a bunch of different reasons for all 3 explanations for why that's the case, but I think him simply finding or knowing Neo when she was already mute lends itself better to the injury or vow of silence idea then the trauma one.
honestly she could be related to the fairytale, the Six Swans as she appeared in Vol. 2 disappeared volume four because she made a cameo in five, forget when and then didn’t appear back again until beginning of seven. I say this is revelent to the six years the girl remained silent though Neo still may have a few more years until the curse can fully be removed - it’s just something I thought of as she has only appeared a limit amount of times and it could still make her relative to this tale
If Neo is the Princess, then her brothers are mostly decorated pilots in sky battle. Swans are related to sky activities, it could be sky mercenaries or group form by brothers to make a living so they could find their lost sister. But it might be interesting to make the last surviving member return with a lost arm(a broken wing, which refer to the youngest).
Thank you so much for all of the analysis you do! These videos are amazing, and I love how thorough they are. I didn't realize Casey voiced Neo in that game. That does sound very plausible for Neo's character! I did a rewatch a few months ago and I forgot how much I love Roman and Neo! ❤💜💟
when you recounted the fairy tale I thought maybe Cinder could also be the second stepmother (the one who took away the children and blamed the girl), since we see cinder take away the relic and not give credit to neo for getting it
I can't recall the name of the channel, but someone else connected Neo to the porcelain dolls in the Alice in Wonderland books. And he used evidence from the series thus far to make the connection: Neo, in a way, plays dress up like a doll by disguising herself as various other characters. She's the smallest character in RWBY, about 4ft - where irl, the largest dolls are between 3 & 4 ft tall. She breaks herself into glass like shards. And porcelain dolls tend to carry umbrellas/ parasails. Although I love the Swan story, the porcelain doll theory has a stronger stand on Neo.
It seems far fetched, being mute she could also be inspired by the Little Mermaid and to many her umbrella was a sign of her inspired by Mary Poppins. Moreover her song "One thing" tells things about her. "I had noone...born without a voice" so that might write out her being able to talk in the future (but it could be a big drama time that can be awesome).
Here is the thing any fairytale that is going to be applied to Neo is going to be retroactive. Given how her character was initially a last minute addition to Vol. 2 based on a very good genderbent Roman cosplay that Monty was inspired by, I don’t think she had a fairytale inspiration at the time. Therefore reading too far into things like which of Cinder’s arms is grimm or other things like that is probably not really meant to be tied to Neo.
Loki a shapeshifter a trickster (Neo's semblance) adopted by Oden (his parallel in relation to Neo is Tortwik) brother of Thor (Nora was based off Thor/ also based on Neo's song Neopolitan isn't her real name) Loki after losing a bet to a dwarf & tricking him so as not to lose his head as a result his lips were stitched shut (Neo is mute)
Speaking of characters fairytale, anyone want to take a guess as to what Tyrian's is? My guess is actually a pretty low key story called 'The Scorpion and the Frog' or 'Scorpion and the fox' depending on your perceptive.
The fairytale of the six swans reminds me of the movies Swan Princess and Barbie's Swan Lake inspired by the musical Swan Lake. I could totally see Neo as a character in both, specially with how graceful she is. Nothing to do with the original connection but I digress
I just saw a hint in the background for the title. It literally looked like Salem is gonna use the staff of creation to replenish the amount of questions she wants to ask Djinn when she figures out how to use the lamp
possibly her attachment to roman could mean that the swans could be people she had met and valued, and then taken from her or turned to grim, and roman could be the sixth brother turned half into grim, but half human?
Small side point... there is a breed of Swan named the Mute Swan.

@@mistressofdreams6031 thanks for clarifying.
hmm neo has always had something around her neck if i remember right there is a tale about a girl with ribbons that if she take it off her head gets dropped
I read that same book in middle school too!
The girl with the green scarf
Now that's dark
For the story about the lady with a ribbon on her neck doesn't really makes much sense, considering she only has been wearing a necklace in volume 2-5 and only recently changed to an ascot scarf or a necktie that is around her neck.
And this story can't really make Neo interesting other than perhaps foreshadow her dying by having her head sliced or amputated. ( I mean, rwby has used character inspiration for deaths before.)
@@Cynicalhamptur that is a good statement but she had a necklace before well idk kinda far fetched
Oh OH I remember that one. It was in that Telltale game. The Wolf Among Us. I definitely recommend it btw
Neo speaking is going to be memed into oblivion.
I always thought Neo was at least (partially) based off of Mary Poppins
I always suspected she was the artist's Arianna Grande fanart that grew into a character. Lol
She could possibly have 2 inspirations.
@@dorianmckenzie9888 she might have a little bit of penguin from Batman mixed in too
I think she is a mix of Mary Poppins, Harely Quinn(to Romans sane(ish) Joker), and the Penguin.
Neo does speak..... all of the songs are her since Miss Williams is her Official VA 🥰

Neo actually has two VA's supposedly , Williams and Fujimura.

The story kind of reminds me of a song called “The Silver Swan” that I had to sing for choir. It was about a swan that never made a sound while she was alive.
8:47 in my opinion salem already plays the role of rapunzel as well as wicked witch
so no problem she has the role of witches in the history of neo, cinder etc.
She also plays the role of the White Witch of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, if you pay attention to what she does in Volume 8.
I love how you put these simple fairytailes in so much depth!!
You could interpret Weiss being stabbed by Cinder as her entering a long sleep. Which she was awakened from by Jaune.
Ooooh, that would make jaune her prince charming. That's pretty smart

Lol
Burned at the stake.... Cinder has the fall maiden powers, which basically is fire. What if cinder herself gets burned for her treating neo badly.
The one woman gets punished for what she did to the silent girl in the fairy tale. The girl was supposed to be burned, and once she spoke the woman got punished.
Neo having a connection with the 6 swans?
Maybe another possibility she is the magic mirror, as in her powerset. And must serve a "royal" cinder a dark princess instead of a dark queen.
Casey is technically Weiss's singing voice.
And here we thought her allusion was Mary Poppins. ...No that is not a joke, that is actually what people thought was the case.

There is an actual character who used to be called the grimm reaper in the show.
@@lilchristuten7568 Yes, as of Volume 6, and I can just about guarantee you her character didn't exist when Ruby was designed.

If memory serves wasn’t 6 swans the alcohol Willow took a swig of when we first saw her in Volume 7?
Also, didn’t a member of CRWBY say that Neo was gonna do something that us fans would consider unforgivable?
I'd assume that she's going to talk. Which would ruin her character. She's the only mute character I've ever seen in representation.
But if she doesn't talk due to a trauma or injury, Neo may still get something out, enough to tell, or ask something! (;]D, Neo Best Bad Girl!
@@jauneork278 There is a deaf character in the Dragon Prince, she uses sign language also has an interpreter with her most of the time.
I believe Volume 9 will include Neo's redemption
Such an awesome and constant flow of theories/ideas on this channel. Keeps me intrigued and excited about the possibilities with the RWBY series! Thank you for your passion and dedication to the fandom. 😀
Dayum, I love your theories, they're always so deep and very convincing. The only down side to them is that it gives RT too much credit for creativity. I know I enjoy hearing these over actually watching the series up to volume 7 finale
I always thought that Neo would be based off of Loki, the god of mischief due to how her semblance works
Love the level of unique insight! 🌟
I really hope Neo doesn't speak verbally. Sign language sure, absolutely. But I think she should stay nonverbal.
Sign language doesn't feel right to me, because she never used it with Roman.
Whatever the case, I do think that Neo is starting to believe that she's in over her head after having met Salem. Also I can see Neo speaking being used as some form of comic relief for which I would not complain.
*meets Salem*
'Oh shit! How'd i get mixed up with this oreo lookin' bitch? I just wanted to get some revenge.'
small note: I believe the whale in the background of Pietro's office was a nod to the story of Pinocchio which both Penny and Pietro are based off of.
Can we talk about how Neo basically sings every song?
This man doing more lore work than the writers of RWBY. Love to see it keep the work up!
looking at the fact that voice is Casey Lee Wiliams is a singer. I'm thinking Ariel from the little Mermaid. This could be her getting to sing later in the series if she does survive the volume. Also the transformation that happens to Ariel during the movie, though there are several versions of this we have seen hints that Disney version might not say it all.
I more impressed that you figured out the hound twist before the damn thing showed up.
I bet Summer is Red Riding Hood's grandma and Ruby is on her way to see her
Weiss's long sleep probably was her time in house arrest
What if Yang is both Goldilocks and the bears? Then Bumblebee makes more sense as a Beauty and the Beast ship
Summer?
We have seen the bear already though
@Tijana Šogor Yeah thats exactly why it's confusing. Summer is Ruby's MOTHER. Not her Grandma. So that wouldn't even make sense.
@@jonnjones8263 so Ruby is going to see Salem.
Huh, I had no idea that Casey was Neo's VA, that's pretty cool. At first I didn't want to hear her talk, but now I kinda do.
Apologies for the spoiler but the Grimm’s name is The Hound, so idk
I mean, remember the theory that Neo was part of the Brunswick family? There were many family members in the pictures.
Neo hasn't been 100% silent in the series. At V3, Ch11, time 07:48, she utters a single gasp of surprise when Ruby opens the umbrella.

I NEED TO KNOW HOW NEO MET ROMAN! WE NEED HER BACKSTORY!
Anyone noticed that if she were to speak it would be six volumes or six years after her debut in volume 2
I thought she legit is only based off of Neapolitan ice cream (no hate, just recalling)
I also hope Neo doesn’t talk.
Your prediction of people into Grimm was spot on
Salem could take on multiple fairytale roles, we already have Ozpin who does so.
And hopefully Neo stabs Cinder because Cinder is just treating Neo like she’s nothing
That Winged Grim, that can talk could be Roman. That is kinda like that 6 swan story
"Transform people into grimm" SWEATS IN VOLUME 8 EPISODE 8.
honestly she could be related to the fairytale, the Six Swans as she appeared in Vol. 2 disappeared volume four because she made a cameo in five, forget when and then didn’t appear back again until beginning of seven. I say this is revelent to the six years the girl remained silent though Neo still may have a few more years until the curse can fully be removed - it’s just something I thought of as she has only appeared a limit amount of times and it could still make her relative to this tale
brief side note. the original tale is the "Children of Lir" before the Brothers Grimm told it. Though it is essentially the same in Grimm's tale.
Never heard that particular version of the six swans tale...neat!
when you recounted the fairy tale I thought maybe Cinder could also be the second stepmother (the one who took away the children and blamed the girl), since we see cinder take away the relic and not give credit to neo for getting it
Its already confirmed Cinder is Cinderella but you may still be onto something
Very cool! I'm interested to see where her story goes - she's so intriguing! :-O

Nice idea 😊😊. I have heard of the idea of Little Match Girl been her inspiration aswell. The idea about Casey would be amazing ❤️❤️❤️
To be entirely honest, I don't think Neo should speak
It'd break her mystery, which is the very reason CRWBY stated that she doesn't have a canon age
I believe the only reason Casey is her voice actress is just for that one hum from v3c1
And the gasp from Heroes and Monsters
I would not want neo to speak. The way she is more animated thanks to begin mute is amazing. And may well be lost if she gets a voice.
Now all I can think about is V8E2 bombshell and makes me think if the two might end up having a connection at some point
No way! About a week ago I said I think casey would be a good fit for neoooo
In the opening, cinder(evil stepmother) was shown being burned
Speaking of characters fairytale, anyone want to take a guess as to what Tyrian's is? My guess is actually a pretty low key story called 'The Scorpion and the Frog' or 'Scorpion and the fox' depending on your perceptive.
I saw that poster and thought it was prominently placed, so not sure if it is an easter egg or a clue about future but very cool theory.
