I got impetigo from the dirt when I lived in the slums as a child....the site used to be a garbage dump site, I woke up with a blister on my face, I popped it and where ever that fluid went is where I broke out with the infecrion, one of the worst days of my childhood besides a constant lice infection....

Dr Dray… I’m about to make your day! I’m watching this video with my 7 year old daughter. She leaned in and said, is that a grown woman? I said “yes she looks young doesn’t she” she responds “yes, she looks 10” total compliment. Go girl!!!! Lol 👍🏽
I absolutely LOVE your tip about Panoxyl as a shower mask. I use it on the armpits and I love it. I don’t use antiperspirants so I still sweat but my sweat doesn’t smell gross for a day or two after the Panoxyl wash!!
I'm using a combination of adapalene and benzoyl peroxide, it's a product called Epiduo gel. It's very useful if you want both ingredients in one package. I've never experienced irritation from it, however it did make my skin sensitive to the sun and other products (only temporarily). I've noticed improvements in skin texture and acne, but it did come down to my diet to clear it completely in the end :-/
I love it so much that I stopped using antiperspirant & deodorant. It’s not needed for smell anymore and I don’t sweat that much. I just use the left over on my fingers from washing my face and keep it in my armpits until the end of my shower.
La rouche posay effaclar adapalene gel 0.1% acne treatment. You can get it at the drug store, target I believe or online. She has also mentioned this product multiple times in her videos. I’ve been using it for a couple months now and my skin looks amazing!!
I might get in trouble for saying this, but I started using a 20% urea foot cream on my face every 3rd day. Perfect exfoliation with no irritation. My skin looks AMAZE-BALLS!!!! Like baby skin. And I'm 65! It's a miracle. Just keep it away from your eyes.
Almost all sunscreens irritate my eyes, even the ones for ‘sensitive skin’. And by irritate I mean they sting but they also make my eyes stream. Can you do a whole video about sunscreens for sensitive skin & eyes.
have u tried cotz mineral sensitive spf 40? just got it today and did not sting or burn my eyes! not too expensive either especially with the 3.50 off $15 coupon at ulta
La Roche Posay's Anthelios Invisible Fluid (in the shaka bottle) is marked as "non sting" and I can guarantee you it is the only sunscreen on the planet that will not sting if it gets into your eyes. It's worth the money.

When I was growing up one of four children living in a rural area, impetigo went through the family several times. A tall order for four kids who were used to playing together and being outside all the time.
I started following your skincare routine and my skin has improved 100% honestly! I watch all your videos! You are a gem! So glad I found your channel! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!

Fun tip. I don't like sunscreen being on the palms of my hands because I wear contacts. I've noticed if I touch my eyes after applying I messes with them. What I have been doing is applying my face/body sunscreen and then I wash my hands. Then I'll rub a stick sunscreen on the backs of my hands and then rub the backs together to make sure I covered everywhere. Its a longer process but this is just the only way I can use sunscreen on my hands.
I have two calluses on the balls of my feet (I hike frequently, dance a fair bit, and love being barefoot in my home. All of which contributed towards these calluses) and they are PAINFUL. I started using kerasal per dr. drays recommendation, (and have been making strides towards wearing socks indoors) it's been wonderful ever since. Dr. Dray is the real MVP if the skin care portion of TH-cam. Thank you!!
Hands are so tough, especially because washing them all the time. I wish there were more enjoyable hand creams that had SPF, cuz just rubbing susncreen on them feels weird lol, I usually always wash my hands [before and] after applying any skincare products.
I totally agree. It’s so difficult to get the sunscreen onto the back of your hands without getting it all over your palms as well 😩. I found that using a makeup wipe worked well at cleaning off my palms, but I’m opposed to using them regularly because of the unnecessary waste I’m creating. Perhaps a spray sunscreen would do the job (of course, then rubbing it in would defeat the purpose, but there doesn’t seem to be any other method 🤔)
@@leeshaj5867 Yep, I do this. I also keep a stick of mineral sunscreen in my car where I see it, so every time I get in the car, I swipe it on the backs of my hand then rub the backs of my hands together to rub it in! :)
Happy Friday, Dr. Dray...If you haven’t already, can you please do a video on clean products that you would recommend for rosacea patients? Specifically, moisturizers. Thank you.

Apparently nothing works. Hopefully she does a video on this because most products are trash. It's all about how big you get. I was fine until 39 weeks then at 42 weeks it looked like I was assaulted by a tiger. They do fade white after a year mostly. But they are so painful. I'll be trying Emu Oil next pregnancy.
Thanks Dr Dray!! I have really bad adult acne and your skin care routine is the only one that cleared up my face! Your skin care is simple, affordable and very effective! :)
benzoyl peroxide is a holy grail anti-acne ingredient for me. didn’t know it could be so beneficial for the body though! definitely going to buy a benzoyl peroxide wash 🥰
You give such great advice Dr Dray! I began using the Good Molecules clarifying bar on my body, and as a result I no longer need to use powders in problem areas on my body that tended to develop rashes due to warmth and moisture. As soon as you suggested it in your Good Molecules review I purchased it, and after more than a decade of needing powder (often) twice daily I no longer have a problem. I am consistent with my (spot) usage of this bar and have stacked up on it. You're a godsend! Blessings to you!

Love Vanicream on my eyes! I've since found some waterproof spf with new age filters that doesn't bother my eyes! I put the Anthelios Kids Spray SPF 50+ on my eyelids AND lips, it's full of glycerin and super moisturising
Hey Dr. Dray! I live in FL & was wondering if you had any hat suggestions for super humid climates because I find a lot of them just make my hair & scalp sweat more and just isn’t ideal for Florida humidity 😅
I have traveled many times with my Sunday afternoon hats they are spf 50 can withstand wind because of drawstring they have a nice drape for the back of neck and lastly do not make me hot. I’ve worn them in Singapore and Indonesia which is probably as hot and humid as Florida maybe worse lol. You can find them on Amazon and hiking stores
No they are slightly different. Cereve is a retinol and requires a second step in your skin to convert to a retinoid; whereas differin is already in the family of retinoids that have receptors on the skin and does not need any further steps, it is therefore available and ready to do its work. There are many videos that go over all the differences between these products and how they work
Cerave’s serum is retinol. That is a great product but Diferin requires one less step for your skin to “perform” for it to become potent. Diferin is more effective and has more data but they’re both good. Start with the CeraVe, and then if you like it when it runs out you could try the Diferin. It’s nice to work up to a more intense retinoid rather than just jumping straight into it.
Hurrs tard i wanna ask if we use petrolatum on our lips does it darken the lips I m from India and here many people believe that vaesline is not safe to use .
Happy Friday Dr Dray!!! Am I the only one who struggles with getting sunscreen in my eyes?!? How do you wear contacts and apply sunscreen around your eyes? What am I doing wrong?
When I’m wearing glasses and not contacts, I wear the Cotz Sensitive Untinted SPF40 around my eyes. It doesn’t burn (which is why I love it), but it can feel grainy if it gets trapped beneath my contacts, so I save this from my no contacts days. When I have contacts on, I’ve made peace with leaving about a quarter inch perimeter around my eyes without sunscreen and wearing really dark sunshades instead. I also powder down my eye area to prevent the sunscreen from seeping down.

Retinoid (vitamin A)
Petrolatum (healing)

i tried PanOxyl Creamy Acne Wash for my hormonal acne on my chin and omg it works!!!
I got impetigo from the dirt when I lived in the slums as a child....the site used to be a garbage dump site, I woke up with a blister on my face, I popped it and where ever that fluid went is where I broke out with the infecrion, one of the worst days of my childhood besides a constant lice infection....
My friend who is in her 40s has been dealing with it for many weeks now. She's now on antibiotics. But it's incredibly strange. We have no idea how she could've gotten it.
@@Kay2be2mr it can also come from pets, the gym, sports equipment, medical waiting rooms....its a bacteria so it spreads to the skin from contact with other things people or animals have come in contact with....your friend needs to retrace her steps and count back to the day of exposure to the day of presence of said blister or rash....many dont know a blisters forms first
That's terrible! I hope it's only a memory for you now. No child should have to suffer like that.
Oh no 🙁
I’m so sorry you had to go through that. I hope all is well with you now. 🌸
When I used vaseline on my face some of my pores got puss pimples. Same happened when I used Eucerine night time cream. I am in my 70's. So I quit that heavy cream and now use light weight lotion.
I can't remember a time, from when I was a child to my now middle age, that there wasn't a tub of Vaseline in the house! It must be up there with the best selling products of all time 😀. Happy Friday Doc x
Right?!?!?!
Dr Dray… I’m about to make your day! I’m watching this video with my 7 year old daughter. She leaned in and said, is that a grown woman? I said “yes she looks young doesn’t she” she responds “yes, she looks 10” total compliment. Go girl!!!! Lol 👍🏽
SVR Xerial has a great foot cream with 50% urea. I use it on feet, knees, and elbows.
When you own every product, you know you're a real fan ❤
“Benzoyl peroxide is great for body odor, especially in the armpits!”
Me: 🤯
Thank you for this info!
I love it so much that I stopped using antiperspirant & deodorant. It’s not needed for smell anymore and I don’t sweat that much. I just use the left over on my fingers from washing my face and keep it in my armpits until the end of my shower.

Hi! In Canada we can't get Differin without prescription. Any suggestions for canadian? Thank you for sharing. Loving your videos!🥰
Same here in UK you have to see a doctor for differin or tretinoin I'd like to know a substitute too 🙂
La rouche posay effaclar adapalene gel 0.1% acne treatment.
Try use skin aqua spf 50. I've been using it for 3 years or more. No problem at all
La Roche Posay's Anthelios Invisible Fluid (in the shaka bottle) is marked as "non sting" and I can guarantee you it is the only sunscreen on the planet that will not sting if it gets into your eyes. It's worth the money.
I'm proud to say I've got all 5 and I got my mum all 5 as well.

When I was growing up one of four children living in a rural area, impetigo went through the family several times. My recollection is it took real discipline, no sharing anything like pencils or a comb and keeping everything clean, to get rid of it. A tall order for four kids who were used to playing together and being outside all the time.
Hey Doctor! How do you feel about me having all of them incorporated into my routine already? 🤠
I started following your skincare routine and my skin has improved 100% honestly! I watch all your videos! You are a gem! So glad I found your channel! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
Okay... so I know I sound dumb, but, I know we need antioxidants. Benzoyl peroxide oxidizes right? So does it cause cellular harm that we need antioxidants to get rid of?
No evidence for long term harm
Dr. Dray, your hair looks amazing!
Vasaline cleared my dry eyelids
Andrea! Thank You I get so many people that argue with me about Vaseline but Vaseline is amazing and I love them having it in their skin care arsenal! FYI Vaseline brand has a triple purification process and so I always say go with the brand name.

Is differin safe for skin of colour? Or can it be too irritating like glycolic acid & make hyperpigmentation worse?
Yes 👍🏼
I am using it, and loving it. Only take a pea size amount, and apply a thin film. Make sure to use a good moisturizer, and you will be good to go.
@@DrDrayzday thank youuu
@@deeptiabey2453 Thanks for sharing! Thats what I started doing.
Yes, in fact retinoids were developed with clinical trials using (non-consenting) black men prisoners to test for safety and effectiveness.
Thank you!!
I wear flip flops in the house that are only dedicated for indoor use. If your feet get hot in the summer in socks, you could try that
Hands are so tough, especially because washing them all the time.
The Eucerin Daily Hydration Cream SPF 30 is lovely to use on the hands and body, it feels like a silky moisturiser and not like a sunscreen at all😉
I apply it to the back of my hands then rub the backs of my hands together to avoid getting greasy palms, works a treat and no greasy feeling 😁
@@regroovable thank you!
@@leeshaj5867 Yep, I do this. I also keep a stick of mineral sunscreen in my car where I see it, so every time I get in the car, I swipe it on the backs of my hand then rub the backs of my hands together to rub it in! :)

The kerasal is great! I use the gold bond overnight on my feet nightly to maintain what the kerasal can do!
I love Vaseline for chapped lips. I always go back to it (any petroleum jelly) and prefer it over any other lip balm, even over expensive lip balms/masks! 😊
I have to buy my Differin from the US because you need a prescription here in Australia, and it costs $80! Dr Dray you are looking INCREDIBLE! You look so glowing and youthful, and your hair is so beautiful and shiny 😍

Is Vaseline efficient against strechmarks during pregnancy or there are better solutions to prevent their appearance?
She made a video about stretch marks 🤗
Apparently nothing works. Hopefully she does a video on this because most products are trash. It's all about how big you get. I was fine until 39 weeks then at 42 weeks it looked like I was assaulted by a tiger. They do fade white after a year mostly. But they are so painful. I'll be trying Emu Oil next pregnancy.

Thanks Dr Dray!! I have really bad adult acne and your skin care routine is the only one that cleared up my face! Your skin care is simple, affordable and very effective! :)
Would urea also be an effective ingredient for lichen planus on the ankles? It also builds up a thick sort of crusty layer that can get quite itchy.
Probably couldn't hurt to try it.
benzoyl peroxide is a holy grail anti-acne ingredient for me. didn’t know it could be so beneficial for the body though! definitely going to buy a benzoyl peroxide wash 🥰

I've been using a salicylic acid wash to combat body odor and ingrown hairs. Is benzoyl peroxide better for these purposes? Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful day! 💛
Dr. Dray was asked this question on Instagram. She said that BP or chlorhexidine (aka Hibiclens) was a better choice for controlling body odor.
Bp has antibacterial properties i believe she said, and it seems salicylic acid just exfoliates. That’s what I understand anyway 😁
Watch this video. She pretty much covers it here
Urea is so underrated! It's been one of my holy grail ingredients for years, it's awesome!

Aloha Andrea,
I took your suggestion awhile ago about PanOxyl and it works so well I don’t need deodorant everyday
This is great information!
Quick question. Can we use retinol around the eye area for milia?
She recommends keeping retinol away from the eye area bc the skin is too sensitive for it hope this helps
Aha! I’ve been using the vanicream spf lip protectant around my eyes intuitively for a long time now. I’ve been meaning to ask if that was a good idea. As someone with extremely sensitive eyes, it’s an absolute life saver! Thank you for addressing it!
vaseline has become what *whispers* coconut oil used to be. You need to study (or, better still cram) for an exam/test => vaseline, your boss is being a bother =>vaseline
😂😂 its so true!
Bulletproof coffee=> vaseline. Your comment is so on point!!

Happy Friday! If you shave under your arms everytime you're in the shower, should you use the benzoyl peroxide "underarm mask" before shaving?
That’s what I would do. Similar to exfoliating, you wouldn’t want to do that after shaving bc your skin is then more sensitive and you may have micro cuts from shaving hastily
Love Vanicream on my eyes! I've since found some waterproof spf with new age filters that doesn't bother my eyes! I put the Anthelios Kids Spray SPF 50+ on my eyelids AND lips, it's full of glycerin and super moisturising

Great pro tip Dr Dray! I didn’t know I could use my vanicare lip around my eyes!! THANK YOU!!
I recently bought the resurfacing retinol serum from Cerave , would this be the same as the Differin gel?
It's a product she recommends for retinols.
Will definitely try BP as a sweaty human living in a hot country. Thanks for the tip!
happy Friday have a great weekend all xo

Am I the only one who struggles with getting sunscreen in my eyes?!? How do you wear contacts and apply sunscreen around your eyes? What am I doing wrong?
Some people apply setting powder :)
What Ace said!
I use a powder to set & then when I reapply I use a spf powder. Or you could just use a spf powder initially after applying sunscreen.
