Same thing happened here. Looks like with the hot water the sealant has come off causing the separation and hinges to come off. Samsung never told me it was part of a recall via text support! But if you google it it is. Recalls from 2016 and 2022. Mine is from a 2016 recall and we purchased at Lowes in 2017! Awful. I called Samsung (no more texting) and they are coming out next week! Have your serial and model number from the lid ready. Thanks for the video! Please try to get a refund too since you prchased your replacement. Horrible service of never notifying us of this recall. We had extended warranty which expired and our washer was registered, have not moved. So NO excuses
Can you remove the freaking wash jet black plastic bowl sink without taking the lid off or no? I’ve seen some older models you can do it, but I can’t see anyway to do it without taking off the whole lid ugh.
I took it apart and it’s possible if you’re handy. Get some Marina type of super glue that is waterproof. Glue area that seperate and clamp it. Mine unfortunately plastic literally crack off. So I might just fiberglass a mold as a temp fix. Not in mood spending $300 for a new lid when planning to buy new set in a year or two when we remodel the laundry room.
@Oneklickmedia thanks for the advice, that's the exact process I was planning on trying . It sucks that samsung hasn't come up with a better design , my washer is only a few years old and it wasn't cheap
@@swatijain6453 I wasn't successful in finding one so I bought some gorilla glue and flex seal tape and it is working so far...don't know for how long though
Hey. This and other Samsung washers like it have been recalled and they will send someone out to come fix it for you and extend the warranty for a year. Or they will offer you a rebate for what your washing machine is currently worth plus 150 more dollars if you buy another Samsung washing machine. So sorry to tell you but you wasted your money replacing the lid yourself
If you mean the steel hinge pins, mine were all rusty which is what I think caused it to fail in the first place. My replacement lid was same as in the video but with a "P" at the end (different color). The hinge pins are DC61-03426A but they're $86 each!!! I guess I'll have them grit blasted and chrome plated - it'll be cheaper.
do you know how your lid broke by any chance? i just realized that mine broke as well and i have no idea how it happened since my washer is in my garage.
The same thing just happened to me today! I have no idea what happened. We have the exact same active wash machine and your machine broke in an identical spot! Seriously, you could be recording in my laundry room. So frustrating!
Mine is In my garage as well seems as if it could possibly need to be a recalled item mine is broken the same exact spot and all I did was open it put some laundry in it one day and closed it down and boom very frustrating
@@amberpalmer7701 apparently it’s part of that explosion recall. They’re supposed to cover repairs or give a portion of money toward a new washer. I spent 7 hours on the phone with Samsung yesterday with no resolution… and I’ll tell you one thing, I don’t think I’ll ever buy a Samsung appliance again.
We have the exact same washer, and the lid did the same thing!!! Right side hinge, and I'm OCD about keeping the area clean. There was nothing around it, it just exploded when I went to close it.
I have broken 3 lids in 6 months it is a piece of c*** if you can remove the Springs from under the lid and just be careful not to drop the lid on your hands

Damn this is very helpful I’m gonna try it. They were trying to charge me like $400 to swap out a lid 😢😅

Thank you! Same thing just happened to me. I was just going to replace it myself, but I'm changing gears and calling Samsung first!
Any luck? Mines happen and replace lids are $250!!! Would think there at least cheaper if it’s recall
So helpful! I just used this video to help replace my lid. Thank you!

I don't think so ,
Thank you for the tutorial
Is there any way to fix this without buying a new lid ? Mine is starting to seperate , not bad yet

Yea can’t believe the hinge is that much! Appliances co need to be like ikea, send free hardware when you lose it or broke!

I don't know. It just snapped one time when we went to close it

DAD SCREWS 😂😂😂😂😂
Samsungs are junk. I k ow this because I own one. Thanks for the video. Now to find the correct lid assembly.
Planned obsolescence, mine broke the same way.
This will keep happening over and over again. Ask me how I know.... Don't buy samsung.

100% not how the lid comes off. There are no side screws.
Ya' gotta be smarter than a screwdriver. There is a small plastic cover over the screws. Unless you have a different Model #
It's a different model.
Thank you! Let's go Brandon
samsung is the worst
