Thank you. I was having a little trouble with that bolt at the bottom of the machine. Once I remove the cap which actually one of those plastic clips broke off. when I called Samsung they wanted $56 plus the shipping fee through FedEx cause that’s the only way they ship it which I thought was ridiculous for a plastic cap. Found it on Amazon for $11 now that you’ve showed me how to clean that dirty smell out of the washer. I appreciate it very much. I was quoted by Samsung a 250 to 350 to come out and work on it. I’m a do it yourself Guy and I really don’t like getting ripped off. Thanks again.

47 yr old mom of 2. I’m still paying off this washer and dryer. I can tell you that my machine kept forcing a cleaning cycle after washing blankets. I knew something wasn’t right. I followed these easy steps and now it’s working perfect. I use powder detergent that is supposedly safe for these machines and there was build up in there for sure. I did read I should use a cup of bleach and run the cleaning cycle. I wasn’t doing that but I will going forward. Good tip with the screw btw came up so easily unlike my last machine.

Thank you for the video!! I've had residue appear on the clothes after the wash cycle and couldn't figure out how to clean it. I ran several self-clean cycles but that did not work, so I'll definitely try your technique.

Excellent video, for the exact model of top-loading Samsung I own. My machine has been depositing black "spots" of slime on clean, light colored clothes coming out of the wash. When you go to scrape them off they smudge into the fabrics and make the staining WORSE! So the first clue is that these "clots" seem to be deposited on the clothes/sheets in the rinse cycle, and after all clothing is removed after the wash cycle ends, I find more of them all over the bottom of the tub. So obviously the drum is riddled with this sludge, and pieces of it break off into the wash/rinse water during the cycles, making clean clothes dirty. So I will be tackling this following your steps in taking it apart to get under the metal surfaces to scrub.

    • @joecburke

@@gennamalizia4997 Good luck, I could NOT loosen the bolt the holds the bttom pan down. When I try to turn it, the whole drum spins! And I can't get a solid hold of the smooth metal against the effort to turn the bolt counter-clockwise. INstead, I did three intensive citric-acid washes (with nothing in the wahser but hot water). I put the citric acid powder and a big scoop of oxi-clean in the drum, then run the self-clean cycle, and when it gets filled up, I PAUSE the washer, and fill another two gallons of boiling water. Then I use a huge spoon to swish the water throughout the drum, and let it sit for an hour, then I allow the washer to RESUME it's self-cleaning cycles. After the thrid time doing this, the slime deposits stopped appearing, so I guess I got rid of most of it. BUT, if it ever appears again I am committed to hiring a Samsung tech to come and remove the steel drum so that we can scrub the whole tub out. It's estimated to cost $350, but that's half of what a new washer costs.

Hey there, really love the video. You are the only person that has explained it and actually gave right information now I just got this exact washer. Used and clearly they did not clean this at all and I just found out from watching videos before I got to yours and then I got to yours and I was like oh my gosh this is the best one yet. Well, I’m having an issue with the first bolt to clean inside it’s not coming loose at all. I may be doing something wrong. I actually recently became a single mother with the last couple days my husband, you know I would like to call him for help but we’re not speaking right now, but that’s on another note if anyone or yourself can give me any tips or tools, I could be the wrong ones but I do believe I have some more to the ones that you’re actually using in the video. I feel like I’m turning the same way you are, but it’s not coming loose at all. It’s very hard to turn left or right, please help me as soon as possible. I’m trying to clean this As I’m typing this comment. Thank you and hope to receive some feed back very soon

I keep the lid open although my husband hates it. Use minimum detergent and always use vinegar, baking soda and borax in my washes. I started trying to separate it and gave up…way too tedious. I bought a replacement that’s only the white assembly washplate lower without the stainless upper piece attached (name on Samsung parts site) for $125. Been using it about 6 months with no difference in performance. At least takes care of the mold that forms between these 2 pieces. I still have to take it off to clean the spider flange every few months. Ridiculous

Yeah you're not wrong. There are several design flaws in these Samsung washer/dryers. Aside from mold, lint, they also have a problem with dissimilar metals under the wash basket and behind the dryer drum so they corrode. It'll be my last Samsung washer/dryer.

Excellent video. Thank you so much for being generous with your time and showing it. One other filter is important. The inlet valves behind the washer have a screen in them. Remove the water hoses and put a wet/dry vacuum hose up to each inlet valve to suck out and particles trapped by the screens. The machine will let you know that they are blocked by a code and your manual will explain that code.
For a Dryer lint trap tip, remove the lint trap, attache a small hose to that wet-dry vac that will reach down into the trap cavity and suck out the lint that's stuck all over it. Now here is the best part but with a disclaimer. Do at your own risk. Caution needed so that your not injured with the drum turning, but you shouldn't be. Do not do this with children watching. With the door open, push in the door safety and secure it with tape etc. Get a strong air compressor with an air gun and that small hose that you used.earlier. With the door safety switch secured, turn on the dryer to "air only setting" and with the compressor running and using the air gun and small hose, blow down into the lint cavity towards the impeller fan all that clinging lint. This will clear all of the lint out of the lint cavity and thru the exhaust hose to the outside because it's being sucked out by the impeller fan. Keep that small hose away from the impellar fan as well as your fingers. Remember, DO AT YOUR OWN RISK!
I have seen a video of a guy disconnecting the dryer vent hose from behind the dryer and using a leaf blower to blow out all the stuck lint that's in it to the outside. I have yet to try that, but it looks feasible. I would think that propping open the outside vent's louvers or cover will be more helpful.

    • @zerializing
      @zerializing  ปีที่แล้ว

On the model I have, the agitator has threads that the bolt screws into pretty freely, I think maybe you might have some corrosion in the threads portion of your agitator which is preventing you from cleanly threading the bolt, either that or the bolt is crossthreaded perhaps.. I'd say to unthread the bolt and try to thread it by hand while holding the agitator in place if that doesn't work, something is wrong with the bolt or the agitator.

@@bryanvasquez7971 not particularly.. It's excessive water, I'd check that the washer is level, the drain hose isn't kinked or clogged and that the drain pump is working effectively.. I have replaced this washer dryer set with a different make and model but before that, the drain pump impellar broke off in the pump.

Much like your car there's a little book in there that's called the instructions, suggest reading them and it tells you all about cleaning your Samsung washer, there is a cleaning cycle that it has to go through every 20 washes and you can run bleach in there during this time, just saying.....

Cool, where is the setting in the instuction book that removes water that stands under the pulsator? Much like a car that is subject to recalls and technical service bulletins, the engineers can oft overlook certain things or design within what they deem to be 'acceptable'. While I do run the 'cleaning' cycle, it is not enough to keep up with the prolonged use and design flaws inherant of this unit and similar units. This post is meant to be supplemental to a very common report if you look into it. While I appreciate your feedback, I'd also challenge you that if you have this same unit, check under the pulsator and post a video comparing the condition within the same period of ownership. Which for me is now nearing 3-4 years.

I have the same if not similar model of washer machine and honestly the manual was trash, it was not helpful at all.
      Heading: Cleaning the interior
Description: Clean the interior of your washer periodically to remove any dirt, soil, odor, mold, mildew, or bacterial residue that may remain in your washer as a result of washing clothes. Failure to follow these instructions may result in unpleasant conditions, including odors and/or permanent stains in your washer or laundry.
Hard water deposits may be removed as needed. Use cleaners labeled “Washer safe”.
Ummmm, it doesn’t say know HOW or WHERE to clean out the mold and such. My spouse and I took the whole drum out of the machine after watching a few videos of how to clean the machine. We cleaned off the gunk and even after, still, there was residue found on our clothes. I’ve resorted to adding vinegar to the loads to combat the mildew smell but so far no luck on the issue of gunk found on our clothes.

The manual doesn’t help at all

You got it. Poorly designed machine. Clean cycle does not get the bulk of the mold out of this thing. And really, who wants to be pulling the drum out of it as regular maintenance?

When the manual tells you to "Clean the magic filter" and mine doesn't have one... That doesn't help. The next issue, it ours has yet to complete a cleaning cycle without error near the end... even after manually cleaning it.
