- Welcome back to The Binding of Isaac Repentance. Today we will speedrun through the final dlc as isaac on hardmode and beat the true final boss of the series called the Beast in about 20 minutes. The seed for this run is: Q4EJRPDK and as always have fun watching ^_^

every other devil "deal" after that is just red chests with troll bomb or enemy spiders.
@William Lisitsa I checked and both items are in the devil deal pool and the 3-5 red chests instead of any deals are also a thing,so what do you want to see?

Yeah, it was pretty unexpected that the true final boss is easier than hush and appears earlier, but well...
Maybe it is true because of that? Like, in depths Isaac didn't become too insane yet, and after killing mom - there is no turning back, mind goes numb, all doors are closed and you can only go deeper from there. And there is a chance of getting a void portal, the boss of which, delirium, speaks for itself - Isaac has gone completely crazy in his fears and now can't separate them from reality, locking himself in a chest, seeking protection, but finding death. Same goes for other final bosses, except for one: lamb ending is Isaac leaving the house, afraid of his shadow doing any harm to his parents; mega satan ending is Isaac hiding in the chest, but his shadow finds him; greed ending is Isaac going hermit, instead of hiding in chests, which leads to same results. But the ??? ending... it leads to the unlocking of the downpour for a reason. After looking at polaroids for quite some time, Isaac finally realizes, that he can rewrite the story, if he wish so.

OMG THE HORSEMEN HAVE REACTIONS! When the previous one dies, they each react in some way. Pestilence complains/is annoyed, War is ANGRY, and Death just FACE-PALMS AND SHAKES HIS HEAD.

RIP, it’s worse for me because i got recommended the ending on my front page, just due to watching Vinny’s, first stream on the game.
I came to the same conclusion but then realized that I suck too much at the game to get to this ending to begin with

@@Rayan-West Yeah, with short games like Isaac or games I cannot be able to download or pirate I usually watch boss fights or final boss fights just for the music, emotion and just to see how the main characters deal with the end of the story.
I will get Repentance sooner or later though, I don't know if beat all of Afterbirth+ before Repentance, lol

Honestly, before repentance i always theorized if the narrator was narrating about Isaac and his mother because he went into depression after leaving his wife and son, wouldn't stop talking about them.

Isaac's father was the narrator all this time? wtf...
Funny thing about that, this detail was ultimately revealed in the secret ending to Legend of Bumbo, where the narrator slowly revealed himself to be Isaac's father narrating Isaac's own stories. Isaac even gets speaking lines for the first time in the ending prior to this one.
But nobody played Bumbo.
And people don't watch gameplay of Bumbo.
So no one knew or cared.

That couple second pause after finding Mom’s Knife, though. Pretty sure that’s the realization that this is the last run of the day, either ending in victory or by somehow messing it up.

@@shrub8644 well not necessarily, the narrator was father all this time, from the beginning of the game (intro of the game) to the end (this ending), so it might be just a story Isaac and his dad created together to defeat Isaac’s fear and doubts about the possible reality of his dream.

Actually the dad being the narrator was revealed in the special ending of Legend of Bumbo. I would highly recommend you to watch said ending as it is absolutely beautiful, revealing and incredible :D

I remember first playing Issac in my freshman year of college. Seems like so long ago. I haven't played in about 2 years now but it's nice to come back to see most of our theories then were correct. What a nice way to end an amazing game. If I have get any free time im going to pick this up again.
He goes through a total of about 18 floors in this run, including the ones that you have to go back through to get to Home.
Compare that to the final boss of Afterbirth+, which does about 11-13 floors to get to The Void.
On top of that, he does this in around 20 minutes.

I've had chills all the fucking time from the start of reversed floors to the final boss. Holy fucking shit i have so much to say. First of all ISAAC SPOKE?!?!?! Second, so how does Isaac know all these things about satanic stuff and parents being toxic to each other if it was all his imagination and they all are happy, maybe tv influenced him like that? Mother watching christian channels and dad watching these drama videos? I love this ending
We know his mother is super religious. It seems like Isaac thinks his mother was nice to him originally, but turned worse after watching zealous/Christian cultist shows (the TV). Obviously his whole house is super religious especially after Maggie’s death so it makes sense this sort of imagery is in his head, and he outright says he blames himself for his family’s troubles.
I think the abusive mother, dad leaving and isaac suicidal behavior were pretty real. To my concern, the drawn part of the ending was the moment that Isaac was ready to commit suicide, he had no fear nor guilt anymore, and stoped believing in the christian broadcast that said he would go to hell for committing suicide, most probably on his last breaths already inside the chest. We don't know how or why, whether he was taken out or got out of the chest himself, but he was out. And now, he lives with his father, doing draw therapy to overcome his trauma, we don't know anything about the mother tho.

My personal theory is. All the abuse shit is real, but that ending implies that things are turning for the better. Everyone's getting therapy and stuff is getting fixed. And the storytelling is Isaac's way of being able to express the emotions he's been feeling in a healthy manner.
Christian tv messed him up, and he has a very vivid imagination because he would always play imaginary games with his father (like in legend of bumbo)
The best part of this is the little spin he does with the knife early on, it feels like he's enjoying how the new knife works
isaacs story is so much deeper than i originally thought, it’s so sad :(((

Personally I would have never found this lol.. I still barely make it to the treasure chest in AN+ but I felt the same way.. I thought it was gonna be like a fight against whatever the witness is in this version

Also, just wondering: once unlocked, do you have to do the alt path again to see the door in depths 2 or will it always be here ?
once you unlock the door you should be able to find and open it without having to do any of the alternative paths like the mines etc. (so even just doing the normal route we are all used to is enough ^_^)

Ending theory: The narrator was the father the whole time. He narrated Issac's dark stories every day to him. So the ending could probably be a timeline of where Issac's father took Issac with him when he left.
It's not a theory legend of bumbo confirmed this

@@meathir4921 it's a prequel and the characters we face in binding of isaac are cardboard small crafts and isaac's dad says this world will grow, grow, and grow it is endless as you can make it.

Your nickname imprinted in my memory a long time ago and I've got a strange feelings when I've seen it again.
I was playing azazel today and I found mutant spider on the first floor and then the rainbow bullet effects item on the second floor and started mowing down rooms. It took me about 15-20 minutes to beat the true boss. I love playing azazel and was so happy that run.(sad I didn't ss the code to share with you guys)

I like how you are able to instantly kill most of the enemies and destroy the horsemen in like a minute with about five offensive items
I thought that was fake but now i cant see that its not fake the new animation fits good with the new ending
Idea for an item you can only get in the ashpitt, I call it: dad's old ashtray, what it would do is it makes your tears light enemies on fire, making them slowly take damage, but it gives you a debuff in a stat,( I haven't decided what stat should be decreased yet tho, probably like tears or movement down or smth)
If you look in the background of the beast fight you'll see how many horsemen you have to fight left. And when you kill war, death just facepalms at his brother.

How long did it take to find the seed? Was it a seed already used for speedrunning pre-repentance?
It propably took around 5 hours of just restarting over and over again as isaac until I got this awesome seed. Thankfully isaac starts with the d6, so you always have 2 chances to see if you can find an op item like polyphemus or dr fetus in the first item room otherwise it would have taken even longer ^_^.

this is surprising several games surprise me how difficult it is to get a speed run but this is insane how lucky to have it is incredible usually I always die before the last Room
You got some weird delays whenever you do something, you just sorta stand still for a split second

I'd like to believe it to be the "Wait, what?" reactions that occur whenever you get stupidly lucky or need time reflecting that this is real. I mean I'd go "Wait, what?" if an eternal heart spawns in midst of the floor 1 boss fight or when I get Cricket's Head, Poly, Brim, Knife, and an assortment of complimentary passives in a short frame of time.
That's just him trying to process the fact that he got several incredibly good items on the same run.

I believe this is the true canon ending, every play through is one of isaacs dark stories, where whether you win or lose you die in the end, and I believe his dad is trying to help a very troubled son through tough times after a living with a super religious mother who had all this vocabulary that Isaac couldn’t understand being 5 and this is what he comes up with and believes will happen to him because he’s been “sinful”
