On the wiki it states that trapped chests display different items between being opened or not unless opened by indirect means. Meaning that you can actually reroll the chest’s insides if you have one of the ways to open without getting hit by the trap

I think that the unspiked and the spiked version of spiked chests are probably listed as different chests in the files, so what guppys eye’s doing is showing the item that was in the unspiked version instead of showing the item in the spiked version.
