Great video as always gents! I smiled as I watched you include vintage formulations of Jicky and Mitsouko in your top buys of 2019. I especially enjoyed how Dan sought out a bottle of Mitsouko extrait after your visit to the Osmothèque and the House of Guerlain's flagship store on the Champs-Élysées. My best purchases in 2019 were definitely vintage bottles of Shalimar including Extrait in Parapluie Flacon and a Natural Spray Cologne Flacon, both from the mid-1970's, Parfum de Toilette from 1985, the year I met my wife, in the inner bottle of a Habit de Fete Flacon, simliar to the vintage bottle of Jicky that Joe purchased earlier this year, (Unfortunately, I only purchased the inner refillable bottle, but it was worth it to acquire this wonderful and rare formulation.) and my most recent purchase, a Flacon Montre of Eaux de Cologne from sometime between 1960 and 1967, which could be as old as I am. The flacon is gorgeous with a ground glass stopper. It was not sealed, but it smells wonderful. I've sealed it with Parafilm and stored it safely. Another favorite is my early summer purchase of a virtually full 250 ml Vintage Eau de Guerlain from 1975 or 1976 in the flacon created especially for it. Congratulations, Dan on your good fortune with your 15 ml bottle of Vintage Mitsouko Extrait! I hope to find a similar bottle in 2020. The presentation and Flacon Bouchon Couer are beautiful. Congratulations, Joe on your purchase of Vintage Jicky! You can determine the date of that spectacular bottle, with reasonable certainty, using the pages found at these links: raidersofthelostscent.blogspot.com/2013/10/how-to-recognize-guerlain-perfumes.html guerlainperfumes.blogspot.com/p/guerlain-flacon-list.html Thank you again for all of the knowledge you've shared as well as your expert perspective on the fragrance world. Also, thank you for allowing your fans to share your journey. We are very thankful to have you as our gracious hosts as we close out the decade and begin the 20's. Over the past few days, I've thought about how fascinating it is that we are actively seeking out the best vintage formulations we can find and afford and you had the opportunity to sample how the original formulations smelled of fragrances that were created a century ago. The 1920's didn't seem like ancient history to me growing up, because my grandparents came of age in the 20's. It was simply the time in which they were raised. Now, we're entering the 20's again, and it will be the time in which the children of today will be coming of age. It's important to learn our history and appreciate the treasures of the past in order to have the proper perspective as we move forward. Thank you for helping us develop the proper perspective! I hope you and your families are having a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Dan and Joe, quick follow up note - I purchased a 6 oz. Falcon Montre of Mitsouko Eau de Cologne, which is 85 - 90% full yesterday. There’s no sticker on the bottle, but it has a glass stopper, and those bottles were produced up to 1972. I’ve heard good things about this formulation. I’m awaiting it’s arrival. The seller said it smells very good, and I’m praying that I made a good decision. Thank you for inspiring my first purchase of the new decade to be a Guerlain classic from 50 years ago!
Hi Guys! Great vid! Shall I tell you what my best discovery is for 2019? Your Channel! An absolute masterclass of discussion on niche fragrances and hidden gems. Don’t change the format! Keep up the great work guys! 👍 Merry Christmas! 🎄
You guys are on another level. None of these fragrances I've never heard of before. Pretty much all your videos, fragrances I've never heard of but I guess that's a good thing. I'm not even seeing other TH-cam reviewers with any of the fragrances you review
Beautiful stuff here. Funny to see how our tastes are alike. I love my Morah and Maximus and am happy to have a bottle of each. Chypre Palatin has been on my to-buy list for ages. Really no excuse I still haven't got it... Thanks for this video, gentlemen!
The final excellent review of the year! Your masterful reviews have helped me to discover new fragrance experiences! I am happy to report that I now have the very same Sultan Pasha, Areej le Dore and Bortnikoff bottles you have included here. Happy Christmas and New Year and looking forward to learning more from you in 2020!
Wafts from the Loft: thanks for making my list easy. I'm so indecisive buy I love both of your tastes....thanks..btw I was surprised at my local TJMaxx what I've found for under $10!
Hi, guys, I really can not wait for your next video, there are so much passion in your reviews(although I fo not like everything you are talking about).. for next year I wish you will add new perfume houses like Dusita(Oudh infini could be your next favorite oud perfume), Anatole Lebreton(L'eau scandaleuse is my favorite - unbelivable leather tuberose combo), Baruti (the hole line is great!) and... many others! Wish you very best!
Because of you guys I discovered some special scents which I can buy in Amsterdam, so that's really great. My best scents of this year are from Atelier des Ors, Maison Incense, Francesca Bianchi and Dorin.
Directly from the website, but I think it is currently sold out. I think he is making a new batch. Best thing would be to email him sultanpashaattars.com/collections/all-attars
I would love for you to make a video "perfumes we hate and perfumes we love on our wives" like the complimentary video to the one you already did :) or generally a video on women's perfumes 🙏🙏🙏
Love your lists. Always inspiring. Merry Christmas! My best buys: Remember me by Jovoy- beautiful chai scent. Noir epices Malle, Ligea by Carthusia and L’inspiratrice by Divine. Mwah
Beautiful fragrances! I really cannot pick my favorite buys this year, but I got myself the beautiful Penhaligon's Douro eau de Portugal and Eau de Rochas Homme has an early christmas present
I've bought... like 5 bottles total this year, maybe? Four are from Slumberhouse, which is always epic... but two of them are backup bottles (Sova, Jeke) and the other two aren't really favorites (Kiste, Sådanne). So I guess my favorite purchase this year is an older formulation Parfum d'Empire Aziyade. Stunning souk type fragrance! My next buy will probably be Mousse Illuminee and Derviche from Rogue Perfumery, or maybe something from Annette Neuffer. And I really need to sample something by Prin Lomros, you make all his stuff sound so alluring!
Some of my favourite buys in the last two years include Hendley's Bourbon EdC, Aura Sublime, Winter of 99 Kerosene, Chameleon, Victorian Picnic Solstice Scents plus their Estate Vanilla and at the end of last year Frassai's Teisenddu which I love❤
@@WaftsfromTheLoft All inspired by you guys! I left the Baux behind and ventured forth into this crazy world of smells :-). I am now trying to figure out a good tobacco oud scent. I have tried EO no. 1, TF (good), and ATH's version with vanilla. EO is v. nice but at $800 for 50ml, not sure I want to drop that much. ATH i really like but his shop has blown up with orders so am unsure when he will produce enough to sell again. Any ideas?
Hello fellas, I need your help. Getting on the tube in November I smelled something amazing. It was a man in mid 30s in a suit after work. As doors opened I got a georgous rich smokey cigar odour then a slightly sweeter scent but in the background & never over the cigar. It took a second to place but I'd go with cherry-ish. I've been going nuts trying to find it, have you any suggestions?. Also, great channel.
It could be cherry tobacco, which occurs quite a lot in fragrance. Could have been Pure Havane, maybe Chergui which is a classier fragrance, but more honey & tobacco
My best buys of 2019 were probably Masque Milano Tango, Papillons Bengal Rouge, Guerlain Angelique Noire, Diana Vreeland Outrageous Daringly Different, Marlou L’animal sauvage, vintage Coco parfum and Shalimar edt (I’ve loved edp and parfum for years, but edt is new to me.
They are both fantastic fragrances, and it’s difficult to say one is better than the other. I thank it’s safe to say the composition of Mitsouko is more coherent, elegant.
Best Koh-I-Noor, Siberian Musk 2, Oud Orange Intense, Ottoman Empire 2, War and Peace, Antiquity, and, I am willing to bet, Peter's new offering: Dendera - and I bought it blind like we all did.
Wafts from The Loft , awesome! I have a vintage Jicky Extrait I could get you to try. It has a very intense citrus top and a big civet middle. Looking forward to watching your many reviews in the new year
Wafts from The Loft 😎 You guys turned me onto Floris 89, which then turned me onto Clive Christian 1. Picked up an inspiration if it by Genre Parfums. 3 spray monster but with the most British floral goodness ever.

Have you tried shypre from Brocard? Russian based house... the recipe is unchanged since 1864
No! Thanks for the tip!
Another wonderful vid guys. Always a tad jealous when I see you busting out the vintages. 😁
Thanks! The Mitsouko was only £40, so sometimes it’s worth taking a gamble on ebay!
Currently going through a Guerlain phase, SOTD is Mitsouko edp 👍 Merry Christmas guys and best wishes for 2020 🥳
And to you. You smell great!
Thanks for the reviews in 2019 and wishing you both a Happy New Year!
Thank you. And to you!
Choosing just one (out of many) then it would be Papillon Tobacco Rose. Stunning stuff.
Mine would be Penhaligons Halfeti. Last minute addition on the 31st Dec 😂
Yes, stunning is right

The Theo fennel scent. Is it the EDT or EDP?
Went ahead a bought the EDP and the drydown is lovely.
The current Jicky EDP in the bee bottle is great and better than the late 90s and 00s to early 10s versions
Thanks for the info Tony. The one in this vid is certainly very different from my more recent Bee Bottle
