@@Bigchillen321 have you ever tried to actively seek Jesus by prayer and actually reading a Bible? I mean earnestly searching for the truth of the matter? If not, then how would you know? If you were to genuinely seek a relationship with Jesus, your life would never be the same. That is why there are millions upon millions of people who believe in Jesus. That is why The Bible has been the # 1 best selling book since book sales were recorded. God is real, Jesus loves you, and before you go around claiming falsehoods and being biased, you should actively seek the truth by actually reading The Bible. I did, and I don't regret a single thing. Knowledge is power, including spiritual wisdom. Dig in on both sides then come to your conclusion. Because I'm telling you, if you actually researched into it, God then has the power to change your heart! God bless you! ❤️

What really captures my interest is that apart from the non-christian accounts that affirm most of the gospels, we also have the Dead Sea Scrolls dated a couple hundred years *before christ*, that show things like crucifixion before the greeks invented it (Psalm 22:16-18), where the messiah would be born, the empires that would rise before it happened (Daniel 2), and the main point- Jesus' death being exchanged for ours- being dropped in centuries of literary spoilers like purim (Esther), the passover and going right back to Abraham and Isaac.

The use of force was a common approach for both Christianity and Islam to gather followers. However, more productive was conversion through fear. They committed such atrocities and branded them so well that wherever they went, their reputation preceded. Millions of people gave into this fear and converted to their religion to not be subjugated to torture. This is well articulated in the book Evil Religions Unmasked by Eloy Colombo. The author exposes the hidden evil nature of all the Abrahamic religions and their harm to the world. If you wish to know more about how the Abrahamic religions could dominate the world, this book can be a good read.

Faith is not blind. God gives us miracles to validate His existence. The key is you have to acknowledge God gave you those miracles, praise Him, and thank Him for the miracles to receive more and even bigger miracles. Many in a small group that gets together once a week have heard the voice of God. The stories are amazing. In my case, I was a captain of an airliner in 1984 when God told me not to follow a procedure that had I done so would have cost the life of everyone of the 110 people on that plane. Other testimonies of my friends are even more amazing. Thank God for the miracles you already have and you will see more.

I was raised an atheist, and knew almost nothing about the faith. I thought the natural world made itself naturality (uh, chicken or egg? Lol) and thought nothing could be outside of the natural law. After someone challenged my beliefs however, I spent years researching apologetics. I realized my idea that something came from nothing for zero reason magically was pretty silly. Makes sense the person who created the big bang theory was a priest. I came to realize there had to be a designer outside of the natural law, then I later learned about the historical evidence of the resurrection. I ended up becoming a Christian at the end. Thank the Lord!

@@HillbillyBlack I am not sure what comment you have answered, but with all due respect - that is not likely. While I respect the reformed for many things hugely for their biblical rigor (I just enjoyed a lovely dinner with a Reformed/Calvinist minister friend of mine last week and we get along great) but I still find Calvinism (ie. the TULIP theology etc) has major problems and I also think Arminianism has it's problems also with assurance of salvation on the other hand. If anything - I would settle along the lines of Provisionism posited by the likes of Leighton Flowers. God bless from NZ.

    • @HillbillyBlack
      @HillbillyBlack 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@colinm610 yes, i would say many who disagree with Calvinism generally don't read the bible. Dont mistaken that as not opening the book and reading it. Im sure you do. but the vast major or anti-reformist suffer the same way of reading scripture. A non contextual blanketing of its meaning over ones life as if the text was written TO you vs for you. For example i would say the bible was written to a local audience for local implications that has infinite implications to the church for all time but locally in context its judgments mentioned were for local issues of the day. For example look at 1 John 2:18-20. Many people look at that and assume this is "antichrist of the future" or prophetic text but completely ignore the contextual language of the letter to the local church with regard to the problems immanent for them. Same problem most suffer with Revelation 1:1-4 taking "soon" and near" as some how future but completely missing the local contextual point. IMO its pure presuppositional arrogance of the read to read like that. I've never seen anyone defend a rapture concept successfully or a future tribulation of 7 years without having to draw conclusions outside of the text. Does that makes since? Essentially, i would say anyone outside of the reformed patristic doctrine is generally just rewriting creatively what they can't understand exegetically.
Tulip only has problems if you don't know the bible. For example TULIP needs the OT to survive. Would you agree or disagree that the OT is in the NT revealed and NT in the OT concealed? Thats why TULIP works. Its perceived flaws are generally just men unwilling to indulges the greek. the OT and the tie in to the consistence of a sovereign God. Non Calvinist won't let the text speak. they infuse into the text what they need it to be.

Yes very mysterious, we must ask him about the 500,000 children that go blind each year. Or the 4.9 million children that die each year before age 5. It's impossible to disprove god, but one thing is absolutely certain: if he can act in the real world, such as performing "a miracle" on the guest today, then he also chooses not to stop an incredible amount of insanely evil natural occurrences. Straight up evil if that's the case...or ya know, significantly more likely: all 4000 religions including Christianity are fairy tales.

This is the best Joe Rogan podcast I've ever seen.
Wes isnt someone I'm familiar with, but wow! What a highly educated guy and great communicator.
The way he just instantly says "I dont know", when he doesnt know, shows how honest he is, and how he's far more concerned with accuracy and truth than he is with self promotion.
Edit: for the sake of people that are clearly unaware... opinions on Podcasts are subjective. This shouldn't need pointing out, but apparently it does...

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.4.17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.4.18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.4.19 We love him, because he first loved us.4.20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?4.21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

I have been an agnostic since I was 14 years old. My father was the deacon at the church and owned his owned his own business (a Berrit Jackson affiliate restoration garage) and when he got sick with cancer, the preacher of the church tried to blackmail him into doing free bodywork on his car to keep him as a deacon. My father left the church immediately and always told me that the church had been corrupted… but always kept his faith. I saw a strong man that gave everything to his family, community, and to God‘s house slowly wither away from a disease that I never felt like he never deserved. That whole situation really soured me on religion and I started looking into alternative forms of belief systems, such as paganism, Luciferianism, Satanism, Judaism, just trying to make sense all of it… christianity has never really set well with me. I never felt like things really added up.. like there were too many holes in the ideology. But this gentleman is the first person that I’ve come across that has made me rethink things to be honest, I always wanted to believe in Christ, because that would make things so much more simpler and peaceful and answer so many questions but I couldn’t make it correlate to my scientific mind. But this gentleman has brought a scientific method to everything that is making me really rethink things. Funny thing is, my father instilled in me how to became a successful businessman, how to have integrity and treat people with kindness… I ended up getting a chemistry degree and now own a top of the line research chemical manufacturing facility with 10 employees and have the largest 2 RC retailers as partners. But there’s always been something missing. Wes may be what helps connect that link. Maybe the problem wasn’t with Christ.. maybe the problem was with the messengers.

I use to believe the Bible was
man-made and mythological. Went through my own rebellious path for 20+ years into New Age teachings. Fell into deep darkness, hopelessness, severe depression, anxiety and addictions. June 21, 2020, on Father’s Day, Jesus supernaturally and miraculously healed and delivered me from it all. I am a new person and a baby Bible nerd lol and He turned everything in my life around for a greater purpose. My relationship with Jesus has been the most spiritual experience of my life in these 4.5 years. And ironically as a Jew, I’ve never felt more Jewish and complete in my soul than following the Jewish Messiah. Jesus’ unconditional love for us and an intimate relationship with Him fills that void that every human, without knowing, yearns to be filled ❤

The word "world" there had a different meaning than what everyone today would think when they hear that word. It actually mean "land of Roman Empire" or "Known World' essentially. Also, in later decades when other NT books were written, the use the exact same language and state that it HAS BEEN fulfilled. That prophecy was fulfilled before 70 A.D and within the lifetimes of the disciples. Not only one time but four times in later NT books of the bible we get confirmation that it had been fulfilled. Now as Christians we are always supposed to spread the gospel, but this was a specific prophecy for their times, not ours.

@trickg8994 A trinitarian soldier. He teaches late 3rd century teachings from the pagan Catholic church. The ones that removed Yahweh 7000 times out of the Bible and replaced it with the title Lord. So that when people read scriptures such as John 17:26... they see se bipolar figure who is talking to himself. But was that the case?
In that scripture of John 17:26 Gods word says, "I have made your name known to them and will make it known..."
Not "I have made my name known." Then trinitarians argue this point but still do not use the name Jesus obviously wanted us to know and use. And based on the new testament the name he prayed to was not Jesus.
      Lies upon lies
      Lies all stem from...Satan.
John 8:44 ends calling Satan the Father of the Lie. Not truth would ever come from him
Not here to change your beliefs. These lies are just too easy to spot.
Try reading a Bible with Yahweh back in, and you'll see a completely different teaching. One that is clear to understand and one that never contradicts itself. There is no mistery.

For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation. (2 Cor. 6:2, NIV)
God again set a certain day, calling it “Today.” This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted: “Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.” (Heb. 4:7, NIV)
Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. (Rev. 3:19-22, NIV)

Your right. I always wondered why there are so many faiths with so many diffrent believes within the faiths. Like Christianity it has countless denominations of it. I'm a Christian and I'm glad to see this guy on because it confirms that I'm not the only one who believes the way I do

@@sweatt4237 Not all denominations of protestantism believes in the core teachings of the Gospels. Many reject Jesus as God, reject the forgiveness of sins, and reject many other aspects of Christian teaching because they don't have to answer to any authority besides themselves. That's the core problem with protestantism and why there's 40,000+ denominations of it.

This is the first JRE podcast I’ve listened to. As a pastor who attended a Christian university and studied theology and church history and a little apologetics, it’s so cool to hear Wesley Huff speak of undergraduate level stuff and Joe Rogan mind being blown. Of course Wesley is bringing so much other stuff that no one else would know except those who study it. I am so glad Wesley Huff was able to be on this podcast and bring so much for Joe and this audience. The goal with Christianity is bring hope and light to a dark and lost world. I hope each person is encourage and feel like they have a purpose.

Knowledge doesn't save. That's for sure. You need to put your trust and hope in that knowledge and surrender to it, to what it says - that Jesus is Lord. You need faith. Faith is not just a mental assent that something is so. It is first assent and then action that proves you truly have faith in what you believe to be true.

The impact this podcast has had on people who grew up in the church, then went to college, and ended up denying the faith because they were confused, as they never had a solid foundation and were probably never saved. However, now later in life, they came across this podcast and were deeply impacted.
