Quake Champions has nice artstyle, animations is smooth as silk and graphics is good. God I wish that id use this engine to create a new singleplayer Quake. Just not about Stroggs. I want my lovecraftian dark fantasy, please.
Why to use engine from Quake Champions? id Software has already id Tech 7 and so far only Doom Eternal runs it so the next game will be made probably also using id Tech 7. Hugo Martin says he loves Lovecraftian themes so it's not impossible that the next game will be from Quake 1 universe. I personally like Stroggs more but Quake 1 definitely needs some love already.
The reason why it look jelly because they are 3d model and play it like a frame, they dont have model interpolation or skeletal animation or anything, just a loop frame of 3d models
I feel bad for this game... I loved the port and the excellent work on remastering all models and sounds.. somehow the new ideas they tried to introduce were just shitty and performance issues led this game to shit .... :(
Eu ouvi falar que Quake World, o famoso multiplayer personalizado do Quake que já faz várias alterações no jogo, mostra as armas que o jogador está segurando. Não posso confirmar isso pois nunca nem joguei Quake multiplayer.
@@eliteguard225 se você instalar o mod Quake 1.5 ele tambem mostra todas as arma no personagem no singleplayer e você tambem pode jogar em terceira pessoa. Vale a pena conferir
Has anyone got a clue why Q1 3rd person model always has the same gun? They could have planted those 3d models of the weapons into Ranger's hands. Was it an oversight? Did id just forget they could do that? Or did it influence the framerate too much? Or was it by design so like in Doom, you cannot tell what your opponent is holding? I feel a bit underwhelmed by id guys now :(
@@avtomatkalashnikova1947 perhaps :P i just thought that after creating a whole 3d engine from scratch those kinda things would feel trivial to add. But yea it's probably a lot harder to implement than what i thought :D
Back then multiplayer was not some priority feature but an addon for single play mechanics. They have not thought of Quake's online success and made some stuff pretty basic way.
Some things i want to recomend if you make another quake video, use a source port like quakespasim or markV as darkplaces give model interpolation and blends the animations togeher, it kinda ruins quakes snappy vertex animaion.
The Quake 1 sounds are more recognizable but I'll say thr QC sounds ain't bad, like the audible spring tingle when your ammo is running out
Modern games in general have problem with much less recognizable sounds, including Doom 2016 and Eternal.

I love how the player model in Quake 1 squiggles like jelly :3. Also, I've got Quake 1 on Steam and I can't wait to play it.
The reason why they jiggled was because there was not skelital animations back then so you had to hand animate each vert point of the model.

The rocket launcher in QC should have the same design as Doom Eternal since this weapon was based on the Classic Doom's rocket launcher.

They ran out of time, but there were models available to enable that.
Weapons in Champions sound much weaker.
Yea I don't see any reason why they would sound weaker, but they do. Q1 sounds are more intimidating.
