    Hey Josh thanks for the videos they are really good. Learned some tricks again, even after 10 years of being a painter here in the Netherlands.
    Was thinking about the new graco quikshot and that a man from Australia would make the decision easy for me. Just ordered one..
    Who would ever think that a painter from Australia can help a painter here in the Netherlands and even could learn him a few new tricks aswell ..
    Thanks and keep on painting..

    Love your videos bro, I just started spraying and I use to FFLP 206 with perfect prep I just thin it down and use it on 6, worked an absolute charm on my window frames no tailing but I’m having troubles using oil based gloss through it even thinned down 5% (cold weather) what would you recommend?

    Cheers bro great video much appreciate it🙏 I bought one of these two weeks ago I used it today to spray some frames in acrylic gloss but I kept getting tails no matter how high or low the pressure was 🙁 next time I’m gonna try to thin out the paint. Has this happened to you before? Cheers 😎

    Now with latex paint graco tip recommends .15-.19 office hole for latex based paints . As you use smaller office it over stomizes the paint as it’s designed for .15-.19 to flow and leave the desired mil they designed each coat to be or some bs it’s very specific. That being said do you think it would atomize better and lay more evenly if you thinned it out kinda like when you spray automobiles it’s very liquidy to be a very fine spray . I can’t seem to get the orange peeling or pits to go away with the quick shot on high gloss like exterior doors and such it still has a finish that isn’t factory so I’m going to try and thin it out nicely .

      @paintingbyjosh  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi mate, most definitely I'm pretty confident that if you thin it out it will stop the orange peel and Atomize a lot better

    I suspect you have a history of being a graff writer?I want to use one of these for large geometric murals. What would your tip recommendation be if I want a really clean hard edges with standard indoor housepaint?

    • @paintingbyjosh
      @paintingbyjosh  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You could actually use line marking tips from Graco's range, something like the 315 will do the trick. You need to use the orange Rac 5 Guard with these Linelazer tips, use my code PBJ if it helps!
      These tips atomise with a hard edge instead of a soft edge to blend in, that's why these use them for carparks generally

    Great vid Josh , should be getting mine in the next week or two , only need it for spraying coving and acrylic primer on doors & frames so looks ideal for my needs , don't need or want anything bigger.

      I hear you on not wanting to go too big. Though for me this goes a wee bit in the other direction.
      I'm going for the Graco finish pro gx19 non battery version. It comes highly recommended for spraying stains, sealers, and topcoats, which is what I do. It's capabilities stretch a little further than the ultimate, able to shoot up to .019 thousandths tip. It's hopper holds 1.5gal. It's recommended for spraying up to a couple rooms. It's cleaning is similar to the ultimate, having a hopper, and better suited to swapping colors than traditional airless systems.
      It's special sauce is an easily interchangeable linear pump. Which also delivers tighter pump pressure windows, increasing finish quality for a fine spray. The system is made for and comes with a fine finish tip installed.
      I'm looking to up my finish quality on my custom woodworking.

    Can the quickhot be used with an extension?

    • @brandonhoffman4712

      It's got the RAC X spray tip, so yes.
      The question is will the hose be long enough for your needs while using one? Would it force you to wear it like a fashion statement?
      Which leads to more questions. How much do you bump into wearing that indoors? Carpenter tool belts mess up interiors on the regular. Which begs the question. How much of ones own work will they mess up with this tool before buying something more professional.
      I know I would rather save a few hundred bucks, ditch the battery system, increase my capability, and get the Graco finish pro gx19 with 1.5gal hopper for $1,200ish.
      They make a battery version if it were a must, but that model comes in around $2,200. A little rich for my blood, particularly since I'm on milwaukee batteries.
      And lastly. I would like to see these companies offer battery models without batteries, yet offer interchangeable plates to work with anyone's battery system. That would drop the cost on them drastically while allowing these tools to integrate into your life. The cost difference between a gx19 and battery powered gx19 is $1,000, just for batteries, it's astounding. For that price I can buy 3 18v 12ah milwaukee batteries and create my own battery bank from them to power any plug in tool on the jobsite that uses 120v... it's sad that I can buy more Amp hours in tool batteries for the same cost difference as well.
      I hope Graco's battery systems fail hard for the economics behind it. It's cheaper to diy your own battery solution for a plug in Graco. That ultra quickshot is probably a 600 dollar sprayer with a bad licensing deal, netting Dewalt the other 600 for voltage...

    Why do they call that thing ultra when it holds 1qt, has a built in gun that cant be changed, and only works up to 16 size tips?
    Oh because they also decided to charge 1,200.
    If that is the future of graco, graco doesnt have much one. Its an overgrown, overpriced wagner power painter...
