THE GRACO CONTRACTOR POWERSHOT XT IS A GAMECHANGER
Hey peeps, in today's video, we put the newest Graco Contractor PowerShot XT to the test. This is my first time unboxing it, setting it up, syncing it with my 495 XT, and spraying out some walls and window trim.
I've teamed up with @GOIndustrial to get this gun cranking, explain my honest thoughts, and whether this is the game changer we've all been waiting for to eliminate spits, and control pressure at our hip.
Use my code: PBJ to get discounts or free shipping on GO Industrial’s website. The guys will back you up 110%, with full support, servicing, warranty and new units across Australia and New Zealand.

Graco has just dropped the newest range of spray guns - meet the Contractor PowerShot Standard and XT models. These guns are designed to hook up to your 1/4" paint hose from any brand of airless paint sprayer, and more specifically the newest Ultra XT sprayers from Graco.
Powered by a DeWalt Slimline battery, the PowerShot features its electric-actuated trigger which instantly shuts off the gun needle = zero spitting. Hook it up to your belt, whack in a battery, and spray-all-day with the lightest trigger pull now in the industry.
If you opt for the XT model, you can also bluetooth pair your gun to the sprayer, adjusting pressure at the hip by 20 PSI increments up, or down. This is gamechanging if you are away from your sprayer and need to change your pressure.

this thing is honestly super annoying to clean, it takes forever for it to stop bringing in paint when in prime, takes me like 10 flushes and i can still see it bringing paint in when switching to prime.
Qual a melhor a 190 ou a gx21
Omg I'm exhausted too much work. Thanks for sharing matt.
love it
Farrk yeah man Love your content as a solo painter I appreciate your knowledge
Acra Tek paint, awesome, I use this on my hebel walls outside.
Fuck yeah, where ya bein bro? Ya havnt popped up in ages
Awesome video thankyou 😊
Great info Josh, tx legend
How about painting for the outdoor unit?
Great technique but can make your own sand/paint mix far cheaper
Love the vids man, keep them up! I know its the boring part but a prep vid masking up would be good to see.
I have that same one and freaking love it
How did you prep gutter before painting
Is this ok to use for floorboard gaps? It's affordable, so I'd really like to know if I can use this on old flooring. Thank you!
@@Two_Bluebirds if they are painted floorboards i couldn't see why not its got around 10% flexibility so should work well 🙌
Thanks mate!
This is brilliant and so helpful. Great explanations and what products to use - one of the best DIYs I have ever watched.
Graco missed with this one
Great video mate 👍
Is there any additional prep needed to paint colourblind?
Spray doesn't get all over the room?
Thanks man.
What type of paint did you use? Is this latex? Thx!
@@LemonCarotte hi, yes this was Dulux wash&wear interior waterbased low-sheen 🙌
Thanks!!! great video which has simplified what I thought would be more complex --- off to Bunnings I go..
what spay tip are you using ?
Hey Josh, what did you use for a topcoat in the end? I missed it. And also would you have any other topcoat recommendations?
I'm definitely trying this! my front door looks terrible and I want to pay a new one cash (around 1.5 to 2k) so I'll probably extend the life of the old one while I save some money. Thanks a lot!
2024 dulux has discontinued the various size tops for duramax cans , stupid company
Thank you very much from Connecticut. I sanded my kitchen cabinets, I will finish with the Greco painter.
Hey Josh, how many cans did you use? Ive got 10 windows with security screens and a screen door to do
Pu.... ta madre quita ese mierda de logo del veneno cocacola
If the frames have never been painted but they're a bit rusty, should you sand the rust off before doing the undercoat? Or is it okay to paint over it?
This guy has seen some shit in those housos. Made him a good painter.
@@icmull 100 percent. Cheers legend 🙏
I laughed when I saw 26% so specific haha
thanks for the video well done
If my aluminum windows aren’t corroded and in good condition do I skip the sanding and etch priming?
One note of caution. When cleaning up avoid letting any water run into the vents to the electrical. I accidentally did this while cleaning up and the electrical portion shorted out. Graco graciously repaired it on warranty and now I am very careful when cleaning up.
Have you seen the 180 Tape Holder? This will help you hold your tape and save you time when masking! Check it out!
Thanks very much for the video ! Super helpful
Too shady
So it doesn't matter that you paint the wall a little bit too even though it's no Latex? Just spray the wall afterwards after masking the painted wood and that's it?
I think you’re the only person who has done a video about painting a screen door of this kind. Thank you! I needed to know how much paint to figure per door, as I am building a folly/tea house type thing in my yard, and I am using this type of screen doors for the walls. I want to paint them all the same color. I have been torn between rattle cans, as we call them in the states, and just using a small roller or a brush.
Any tips on how spray the c channels facing away from you, i find it near impossible and can only see ive missed it after i take off the paper off the windows
What type of roller you use bro?
Legend, thanks a lot!!!
Josh any advice on when the cleanshot no longer holds its swivel? I've only used my band new one 4x and it still holds pressure but now the neck is very loose and will no longer hold a twisted position against gravity. The 180 valve just droops and falls making it useless now. Maybe i've blown a seal? I can't figure out how to fix it, it's basically new
Thsts strange, iv sprayed through them literally hundreds of times and never had that problem. Mine recently was still spitting so for first time I soaked in thinners then pulled apart to clean and see what was actually inside. Im no expert in the workings of part but definitely dosnt sound right only after 4 uses. Good luck
@@adxn7946 thanks man
@@maxa3221 no worries, I was also wondering, it could be as simple as the little nut holding the swivel bit on may of loosened a bit and might need tightening. Again though iv never had that happen.
@@adxn7946 Ya for sure but that part was never loose. That nut ties the whole swivel ('35a' in the diagram) to the rest of the actual valve. The broken part is whatever hold the swivel itself together and allows the neck to rotate 360 - there's a joint between the threading and the neck of the swivel. The warranty guy is responding so i'll let you know but I have a feeling it's a product failure. The repair kit is entirely for the valve side/spring. This is a swivel joint issue entirely. appreciate the ideas.
@@maxa3221 fair enough hope it get resolved for you, are you a painter by trade if so where do you operate, Im Melbourne Australia painting sinse about 94/95 and here i am watching someone do what iv seen and done everyday for decades. Funny when you thing how fkn sad that is lol
I need to fill a finger sized gap where two ends of cornice/cove butt up against each other. I also need to apply maybe a thirty centimetre taper where the two sections of cornice meet to hide a glaring half centimetre difference in thickness where old and new cornice meet. The older segment seems thinner despite its equivalent ninety centimetre overall dimensions. I intend to apply a taper to the old segment building it up to meet the new segment. (The concrete ceiling itself is probably wonky as the apartment building presumably settled since construction in 1967.) As I have both plaster of paris and cornice cement on hand I am wondering what might be some pros and cons of mending cracked cornice with plaster of paris alone or adding in some cornice cement? Is cornice cement also known as "mud"? I saw a couple videos advise incorporating a premixed cornice cement (they called "mud") into plaster of paris to extend paris' set-up time. Minus the mud, plaster or paris quickly starts setting only minutes after reaching that ideal spreadable "frosting-like" texture. Quickly turns un-spreadable and irredeemable because I cannot water it down to extend it's "working life". This cornice cement / mud apparently extends the working life of plaster of paris when it is at the point of "frosting" texture" - not unlike the frosting we might thickly spread or butter on a sponge cake. :) I need to go back and find the videos describing the method and see if only the pre-mixed form of "mud" is acceptable. My cornice cement is in the dry powdered form and as it understand it, set-up time is less than a "mud" premix. Hoping to buy more time when applying plaster of paris, I tried watering it down. A total disaster. Adding water seems to create gravel and when it eventually sets and cures, a powdery mess like talc is the result. Has to be removed. Turns the site into a dust bowl.
Either talk or play that garbage music- do you paint that half assed?
I have been painting for over 30 years and I could not agree with you more; I still learn things, tips, and tricks from other painters that really help me become a better painter, finish quicker, or make more money. I learned a few things from this video. Thank you! When people tease me for still using tape I simply say; "People use to say the same thing when the wheel was invented. Why wouldn't I use something that makes my life easier?"
