    Electrician here: For those seriously using the grounding cable included, please be aware the cable is fine and all but just about 90 percent of homes in America have outlets in them where the ground may not be hooked up properly at the outlet. Just an FYI

    The grounding is primarily to stop solvent vapour explosion. Static build up is the same for water or solvent but water doesn't ignite!

    Hey, I’ve just bought my quick shot set up! I love it… I don’t love how difficult it is to put the bloody lid on the cup… is there a trick, I feel like it cross threads like a mo fo. Do I need to push it down first, then turn? It seems the only way… I nearly shot the apprentice, then I found I really struggled with it too. Fortunately I caught it before it leaked everywhere.

    I know you doing an info video. And a good job . But for the folks out there pressure is up to high and your to close .about 10 inches to a foot away and less pressure on a 212 tip.
    I hate the battery hand held to heavy. Just bought this unit .. use to used the electric model..way better in weight the battery one..also when I have a shitload of base or crown to paint I use a hopper on my Graco 495 . But u cannot shoot a quart ..hell ital.oat needs a third of a gallon to prime it .

    1. Fluid moving through a conduit creates static electricity. Solvents are highly flammable. The grounding wire is to keep a static spark from exploding the gun in your hand.
    2. You jumped from starting to explain priming and went straight into cleaning. ???
    3. I've had the 360 for several years: Zero leaks & zero problems priming it.
    4. Priming the pump has nothing to do with hose length.
    5. Never keep spraying water through the tip.

    Great video. And Hi there. To anybody really. Not really a big painter myself. Only a DIYer. But.. I have a couple of jobs/fences lined up to paint and would like a half decent sprayer. Ideally would mainly be stains to be used but was wondering if masonry paint could be used through the quickshot too. Both jobs are long picket fences so a tedious process with a brush. • @PittsburghSprayEquipmentCo
      @PittsburghSprayEquipmentCo  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there most masonry paints are a bit to thick to run well through a handheld type airless as they need a large tip, you may be able to make it work with some thinning but you would be pushing the pump pretty hard to make it work, and it may not work depending on the product you would end up spraying

    I did just look up the owners manual for this sprayer and it does show how to remove the pump. That possibly means it is replaceable. I don't know why they would show you this on page 8 just to take pump out and throw sprayer away. I did not however find out where the replaceable pumps are and how much they are. Financially speaking, if you charge $200 for every job you spray one gallon (prob make more than 200) and you spray a total of 150 gallons, that's a profit of $30,000. Even if thrown out, it makes money fast & easy vs brush/roll.

    2 things i don't understand about the quick shot, 1: its under 3 gallons per job, what happens if over 3 gallons, 2:and the pump itself only designed for 150-200gallons total use, is that means it can only last for 150-200 gallons paint usage ?

    • @PittsburghSprayEquipmentCo
      @PittsburghSprayEquipmentCo  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Ryan you can use it for a job bigger than 3 gallons it just not meant to be your primary spray rig that you spray 50 gallons a week through with the pump total usage is what it is engineered for before it needs rebuilt or replaced , the reference of 2 to 3 gallons per job and total volume before repair is to give you an idea of what the rig is meant for so you have realistic expectations when considering it as a option

    • @simonhuss9619
      @simonhuss9619 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      As you said yes its only expected to last 150 gallons, all of these small handheld sprayers are for small jobs i.e woodwork really small areas, the pumps are consumables, and need replacement after small workloads and when packing system breaks down, compared to a full size unit, the spray section in big unit are completely rebuildable, i.e packings pistons can be replaced and are built to last the long haul, these are good machines if you want to hemorrhage money, but a full size unit will always give you more return for your investment

  • @FrancisRoyCA
    @FrancisRoyCA 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Something that I'm not clear on. At about 3:30, you said that the machine is good for about 200 gallons TOTAL use. Do you mean by this that at about 200 gallons that the machine dies? Or did you mean a max of 200 gallons before you need to give the machine a rest and service it? I started seeing this as a way to do inside of cupboards and closets, but then started thinking that it'd be great for cutting out. Then I imagined that it would be nice for doors, and while we're at it, why not ceilings and walls? Every one of my jobs, for two coats takes about 10 gallons. Do I have to worry that about 20 jobs in that the machine is dead?

    • @Shanyet
      @Shanyet 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The pump is rated for up to 200 gallons. That means that after 200 gallons of material you can expect to need a new one. But it could be more or less. The pumps on these machines are replaceable though. They are priced somewhere between 100 and 200 dollars and are very easy to change.

      @@phuhque6724 Uhh, so that you can shoot a whole room without priming the lines through the silly process we have to go through? When the hopper sits on the input, it's fed through gravity.
      I'm not saying they can't make useless door sprayers that no one will use, I'm saying that the actual system is better, so why not make it for larger projects.

    • @phuhque6724
      @phuhque6724 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @FEV369 this thing isn't meant for spraying whole rooms, it's meant for smaller projects you don't want to have to buy 2 gallons to feed the lines when you only need a gallon. I've had multiple times doing cabs with my 440 where I needed to get an extra gallon of primer and paint so my siphon had enough to sit in and not run dry. This would be perfect because you don't need the extra. My 440 takes a ¼gal to prime the machine, this thing only needs 2 ounces. I would much rather carry this thing in to do my bases than lug in my 440 for 20 minutes worth of spraying. I would much rather carry this thing up a flight of stairs than my 440 if I'm doing trim and doors in an upstairs lived in residential. They both have their uses. If I'm in need of spraying an entire room I don't want to have to change a battery 6 times to finish, I'd rather use the 440. I don't understand what you're saying.

    • @phuhque6724
      @phuhque6724 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @FEV369 I keep my 440 at the shop with cabinets since I do all the doors and drawers there, why would I want to carry it back to the house to do my bases when I could just leave this tiny thing at the job in the kitchen and just do a quick coat and leave to do my final coats on doors drawers.
      I have the other handheld and it's too bulky, I bought it because of this exact scenario, I had my 440 being used elsewhere and I had a upstairs of trim and doors to do, should I cancel or make money wait so I can go get my 440? No. I'll take a handheld for smaller projects any day and let my 440 be used to make more money on another project.

      Are you capable of understanding this? Almost no one needs a tiny unit, but go ahead, make them... The question is why can't we get a bigger unit with a gravity fed hopper on it so that you don't have to physically suck the paint up a tube "priming" the system because your fighting gravity.
      There is simply less issues when gravity fed hoppers are used over sucking paint out of a bucket based on all reality.
