The x key symbol is no longer available in the new version of Daz. There is a key with a minus symbol, but it is grayed out even after right clicking on the scene asset>select>select children. What is the work around for this?
nice tut. :) thanks. Is there any way you can add some "shadows" to OpenGL rendering mode? the inbetween mode is very slow and weird. Just simple shadow would do. Also retargetted animations on characters (from imported fbx data from maya) doesn't play smooth in opengl mode in viewport. the fbx itself (imported one) plays smoothly, but once I save as pose preset and apply to a character, the playback shows only 4-10 frame skipped.. like it jumps frames when playing it back. this is on a simple naked base res mesh. please help. thanks
Great tutorial, loved it and I already use Studio for still image artwork so the quality of the finished result was beautiful. I can wait to give it a go myself, I have just bought an amazing rigg today so Im very excited lol {it has 2x Titan x I can wait ha ha} seriously though great and interesting video. I have subscribed for more
As good as this is, you guys have really got to get a native dope sheet and/or curve editor into DS. I've done A LOT of interesting animation stuff with DS, but I wouldn't have gotten an iota of it done without investing in Keymate and Graphmate.
Yeah, worked well when you are using preset poses, but why does it break every other pose/keyframe when I go to fix another one? Why can't the frames just stay where I put them?
Great to see the Daz team being proactive in demonstrating animation techniques, but the tools, really are missing a few big holes that renders most animation tasks impossible. Which is sad given Daz has, what i believe to be one of the best animation tools in any 3d software, the puppet tool. Try doing a walk cycle in Daz, and see what happens to the feet!
+Geometry Dash HangFire Really depends on the settings and hardware. You can get decent Iray renders, at 2k within 5-10 mins a frame. There's a tutorial somewhere that show Iray Daz animation settings ... google it :)
I am stuck with Daz 3 advance, as i can't get any content to load in 4.0+ on wards, being trying for the last few years still can't get it to load, but just started with animation, my problem is when you use aniblock why does it wipe out any pose you already have set, also why can't you change an aniblock?
I'm just a starter, and i have a question: I downloaded Daz 3D, but most of maps with items are empty, or don't fit on my characters! What should i do? Un-downloaded it, and download it again? And where have i to put downloads, will i see it back again? I have downloaded one item, but i can't find it anywhere? Someone?
Question: My pc is old..it's using 32 bit, 8gb ram, and Geforce 5600 ti (1gb) so is iRay still my best bet for renders..and are there any tweaks to speed it up some? Someday when my coffee can gets a little fuller I will upgrade :)
Kinda late reply..(but might helps others.. someday) and you might have a new computer but there's no way to speed it up without updating your pc. Otherwise Iray should still give better results than 3delight but not as close as Luxrender can get. You might wanna get a semi new setup.. here's an example; 16gigs of ram i5 or i7 4th generation will do a gpu around the time of the gtx 770, maybe even a gtx 970 or 980.. and a mainboard capable of using the socket of the 4th generation i5 / i7 (Maybe even Dual Channel.. as the cpu quite not handle quadchannels that well) Now you should be around 500 Dollars for this setup
th-cam.com/video/mb-cYFRLb5Y/w-d-xo.html My camera does weird things instead of just panning/rotating around from the last keyframe. In the video i linked, its the 30-60 frames where it messes up when i play it back/scroll thru it. instead of staying focused straight ahead and just staying on the point as i move, it gets all jittery and looks awful... im going around looking for help if someone knows exactly whats up here
You guys always talk about using images and putting all the images together in your editing software. Well How? Can someone please make a video about how to import and them assemble the images into adobe premiere or final cut.
If you have a good enough computer (ex. 8GB RAM, Intel i3 Core, Geforce 750 2GB) then you can do a movie with no problem but if you have computer not as powerful than it will possibly crashed if not left alone, but if you have a Mac just do a movie its better but i'm working on a video of how to put all the images together.
use something like adobe after effects, or adobe premiere, all you do is import as a sequence, pick the first picture and it'll import all the pics in as one solid movie.
I have an urgent question cause I am starting to lose my patience with DAZ for me it undoes what I move. I like to move each limb myself. i don't like to use poses.
i hate this fucknig program interface falls far behind after effects in animation controls plus everyone trying to do a tutorial does NOT begin with the very basics of keyframes & where to position, find, place, start from scratch instead
if you are here cause you want to learn animation dont use daz.. daz is like buying a nice bike with carbon fiber everything looks cool and great but lacks the essential, or you need to buy it to be useful, like seats and pedals and handle bar.. e.g. animate2 which you need to do animation is only 30days trial, you need 58 bucks to make it permanent, timeline animation is just for show cant edit animation there.. specially ones that you bought from their store..such crap.. if you are serious about animation learn other software like blender or maya skip all this crap i just save you hundreds of dollars.
in fact in blender you have to make animation path for every single entity in it (Apart from parenting), which is tedious work. In daz you have poses as keyframes, which entirely cuts the time for animation down.
This tut series is very well done. Lots of neat tricks, learned a lot... and hope it continues.
Thank You for the content. Great work.

Very clear tutorial, Thanks very much.
Great tutorial, just what I was looking for. Thank you.
Great tutorial. Thanks!

Love your tutorial.... Plz keep doing this

How is the final blink animation made?
More animation tutorials please. Especially because of the 4.12 update :)
What programs do you recommend me to put in the image series?
How do you make a copy of a keyframe in the Daz Studio timeline?
As good as this is, you guys have really got to get a native dope sheet and/or curve editor into DS. I've done A LOT of interesting animation stuff with DS, but I wouldn't have gotten an iota of it done without investing in Keymate and Graphmate.
Thanks a lot!
are there stock animations?
Yeah, worked well when you are using preset poses, but why does it break every other pose/keyframe when I go to fix another one? Why can't the frames just stay where I put them?
Interesting tutorial,

How to render video in Daz 3D? thank you
It's been 4 hours, and it just finished rendering the first frame... Holy crap! How long does this usually take?!
Rendering does take quite awhile.
+Geometry Dash HangFire
Really depends on the settings and hardware. You can get decent Iray renders, at 2k within 5-10 mins a frame. There's a tutorial somewhere that show Iray Daz animation settings ... google it :)
with two 2080tis and noise reduction I can render a 1280x720 frame in about 20 secs
This will bring my tentacles to a whole new level!
What kind of editing software did you use to put the pictures back together to create the animation?
VirtualDub
Premiere Pro

is there any tutorial where i can animate a specific body parts from scratch, for example the belly i want to make belly dance animation of my own..
I dont think you would want to animate joint by joint in daz. it would be too hard. try blender or maya

how do you add another timeline?

Yuo. thats just what I did finally.. got a quad cpu, 16gb ram, a 2gb nVidia card :)
After I animate the model, the clothes glitches after I play it. It covers most of the body. How do I solve this?
You need to choose the clothes compatible with the character your using like Genesis 3
Did that, worked. thnx
cool.. how to make the navigation faster..?

i dont have a timeline tab

okay, I ll look for it. I want to do animations but they all say then put the images in an editor. Im like well thanks. (Smile)

for me it undoes what I move. I like to move each limb myself. i don't like to use poses.
BTW i AM USING 4.9
How to move keyframe?? I could not do that.
You just move the little triangle on the timeline onto different frames and changing poses to animate them.
What shortcut for move triangle?
How to make this: watch?v=lA5uKub9hv4
awesome
This covers like nothing of the timeline lol, how to select keyframes? move keyframes? edit keyframes? delete keyframes?
i hate this fucknig program interface falls far behind after effects in animation controls plus everyone trying to do a tutorial does NOT begin with the very basics of keyframes & where to position, find, place, start from scratch instead
I only have 30 frames ):
***** this worked. thank you! (:
yeah this doesn't anymore. classic daz...
