    I've used DAZ since the Daz 3.X days; I had no idea this was possible. Very cool.

    The smooth modifier bypass tip is amazing. Thank you.

    Brilliant, transferred over several V3 clothes to G8F, be warned make sure to also hide G8F's hip and eyelashes otherwise you get a vertex error. excellent work Coffee Art

    Thank you! Super smart way to parent a clothing that doesn’t fit! Good work

    Great tip for saving the 'smoothed' version as an .obj and updating the geometry. I have a few pieces that don't look right till I use about 20+ on smoothing and this will save me a good bit of time.

    BEST VIDEO EVER!!!
    i was able to convert my aiko3mascot to a genesis 3 female.
    Too bad I can't duplicate it to my g8f. gonna try once more.
    Would LOVE it if you had some script to add to auto-fit.
    BUT SURELY I THANK YOU for this.
    Thought I'd NEVER be able to use my Aiko3 clothing again;
    especially my mascot furry pajamas.

    My cloth not match by Y coordinate after fit - more down. Possible fix Y? After fit Y coordinate in cloth not change anything.

    This is a good method, and I tried and the result is fine. But when I give a pose to figure, in the DAZ I add smooth modifier, everything is OK. But WHEN I EXPORT THE SCENE AS fbx FILE AND OPENED IT IN CINEMA 4D , there is some penetration happened, just looks like in DAZ without adding smooth modifier. Do you have any lesson/advice to give a nice result in C4D? I know it has plugin and can be imported to maya but I do not use Maya at all. thx again! ( I tried Ablemic plugin but it report a unknown error even when exporting a simple model)

    I see in your autofit list of characters that A3 and other Poser Generation 3 characters are there for G3F use. What DAZ clone package did you get those from? Thanks!

    and if the figure will change pose... ?

    It's more easy with GOZ plugin, i seek any way of clone the weight maps of the figure (ex. g3f) in a cloth that alters its weight after fit to a figure

    Absolutely Awesome! Thank you for this method! Will this theory work with using Genesis (1 and up) clothing to make conforming clothes for Poser figures like V4, V3, G4,S4, S3 etc?

    • @coffeeart8670
      @coffeeart8670  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This method will work for everything. I've even used it to convert toon-clothing to G3F...

    • @patpad2599
      @patpad2599 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah ok! I have no doubts that poser figure (CR2 figures) to a Genesis figure will work but I haven't seen an example of using a DUF DAZ conforming clothing to fit it on to something like V4. Your steps include autofitting screens but as far as I know there is no autofitting screen that comes up when fitting a conforming piece of genesis clothing going to a poser figure(???) Is your toon clothing something that fits on a poser figure originally before making it fit on to a genesis figure (G3F)? So far the examples here have been from Poser figure -> Genesis figure (G3F in this case). I am wondering if this cool process works in reverse Genesis clothes -> Poser clothes. I will try it later today and report my results. This video is gold for showing me how to get any clothes to work on a Genesis figure but it'll be a ton of gold if I can get the various genesis clothes to fit on to a Poser figure because I still use V4, S4 etc. Dynamic clothes are no problem because I have Dforce now but it's the conforming clothes of G3F I want to get on to a V4 and modernize her 'look'. *thumbs up* keep up the great work!

      Oh! i was able to find a fit to dialog for a daz duf item to conform to a poser figure - I am way too excited for words right now. I'll report my results hopefully sooner than later!

    How do it when you create the clothe in other software and import to daz3d?

    • @dreamlabstudio4857
      @dreamlabstudio4857 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a very complex process. You would normally create the clothing in a 3D program such as Blender, Zbrush or Maya. Then when you bring it into DAZ you have a very long process of setting it up as a clothing asset, doing weight map painting, and setting all the parameters DAZ needs to use to know it's a clothing product. There are tutorial videos you can buy that cover this whole process but if you aren't already familiar with 3D design work then there is a lot to learn. If you are only concerned with creating clothing check out the program Marvelous Designer, it's 100% dedicated to creating all sorts of clothing items.

    Any ideas on how to make hair rigging play nicer? I tried this method on Olive Hair for V4 and it worked a treat. Much better than auto-fit, which always puts nasty breaks in tails. But when I pose G3F, those breaks start to show up again. Is there any way to fix the rigging of the hair so that it works better with the new figure when posed?

    • @coffeeart8670
      @coffeeart8670  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      One way is to import/re-import as a new OBJ and/or update the geometry adjusted to G3F, then choose None as the figure when fitting. Unfortunately, the breaks can't really be avoided, unless you were to use a pre-built rigging template from something else.
      Or you can try adjusting the rigging manually by weight painting those points. That takes a bit of effort though.

      Yeah, I figured it would be something like that. Thanks for the reply.
      Happen to have a tutorial to recommend? I'd like to give it a go but have no idea what I'm doing.

    How the fuck do you get that view showing you all the polygons?

  • @johnpublic3167
    @johnpublic3167 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    (Edit 2: this was fixed by hiding everything I didn't want to export)
    Didn't work for me on "Olive Hair" for v4, which is a prop hair. Ran the steps on unmodified prop version, and on versions converted to figures, got the same error either way; when I went to update the geometry I got an error message about how they have to have the same number of verts or facets or something. Since I didn't alter anything the second time I tried (on props straight from the library), my guess is it's something to do with the export settings on the obj, like the "weld" checkbox or something.
    Edit:
    "The loaded geometry does not match the geometry it is updating. Vertex and facet count must be the same."
    This can only be from something that happens during the export process.

    • @coffeeart8670
      @coffeeart8670  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John, since it's an older v4 prop, I'd assume that it isn't a subdivided prop. However, older prop hairs may use handles, which may or may not export properly and play well with the geometry.

    Wish this was little bit slower, as your speaking so fast and going so fast, i am having pause and rewind like 4-5 times, I am off to find better explained video on why your doing what you do, as all your doing is painting by numbers not explaining why your doing what your doing.

    If your new to Daz, Don't bother with this Tutorial, Its not helpful and you will wait hours trying to do something that you can't do. Half the Options you need to do this are missing, like right click "Fit To" on the Scene and no explenation to why they have two of same item in there scene or how or why they imported them. Look for better tutorials if your learning, as this will not help.

      The tutorial was super easy to follow. The main points were explained throughly. If you're new to Dazstudio and can't find the hidden options then I suggest that you get better acquainted with the user interface.
