I think the best thing to do is remove the hand pump assembly, all together. I purchased one of these and within 1 year the hand pump seized. I called pyramid about it and was told the hand pump was only to be used to get a few more shots IF an external pump was not available. I took it apart, cleaned it and was able to use it for a few more weeks...until it seized again. I was told there was a 1year warranty and the only way to have it repaired was to send it in. It would have cost more than a new one. I bought the avenger and it leaked..badly. I returned it and got my money back. Then I removed the entire hand pump assembly from the Aspen and plugged the block (inside). I have to use an external pump, but it works. I actually love this air rifle. It is accurate and consistent but the hand pump is an absolute TURD.
I have this gun from back when it was released by ATI as the Nova Freedom, I have had to replace the third stage pump o-ring a couple of times, and the o-ring on the air tank once, but 6 years and thousands of shots later it's still shooting.
Yes it is! I love the gun. Shot some birds recently at 40 yards out of my new blind. The blind video is coming soon but will just show the building of the blind.
I just ordered me a senca aspen in 25 cal. I just think it is an all around survival gun from small game to medium game. Really loved your video thanks for that.
I have a .22 Crosman Shockwave, works pretty good. But your pump is better then buying C02 cartridges. Love hearing the birdsong, sounds like springtime in TX
The way this is designed could it in any way be shortened to 36.5 inches. Can the barrel be taken down! I'd really love to. See a bullpup version. I want to fit one into my 100 liter survival rucksack! Another preferable idea would be a flip over stock!
I shot a Gamo break barrel .177 Varment 1250fps / diesel 1550fps it’s a tack hammer for sure 4 x 9 scope is all you need . If you diesel the pellets it gets loader ! Lol. Nice range there !
I have a beautiful 1967 Sheridan Blue Streak in 20 cal. ( my favorite tree rat cal ). I bought it from Baker Airguns. Have had it for years and now it's getting a custom refinish, both wood and metal. Bring back the 20 cal.
@@24acresofparadise No, it is not. The way you are pronouncing it means devil. The word diabolo (four syllables) means two bowls, describing the shape of the pellet.

Hopefully you can do some tests showing what distance would be the maximum penetrating power in terms of hunting medium size game like hogs. I don’t want to shoot an animal and make it suffer. It would also be interesting to do this test, using different kinds of ammunition, like solid, hollow point, and slugs in terms of accuracy and penetrating power at 50 yards or more. Ballistics gel would be interesting and also using animal carcasses. I think the results would be interesting.
How is the Seneca Aspen holding up you? Please let me know should I keep or sell it? It look like Seneca is no longer selling them or no has them in stock anymore. I still haven't even shoot mine yet.
Great video, although if you’re impressed with airguns you should come hang out with me for day. I’ve got a .25 fx impact and a .30 cal Vulcan 3 I shoot birds/squirrels/ect well past 200 yards regularly. I shoot 49.5 grain nsa slugs out of my 30 cal at 960fps and get about 60 shots per fill. With my .25 I shoot 37g zan slugs at 980fps and get 75 shots per fill. It’s absolutely amazing what these guns can do with the right scope/ammo
@Supreme Renegade, l started getting into air rifles last year because I’m sick and tired of all the stupid hunting regulations in California(I’m a small games hunter). The fact that airguns are not considered as firearms therefore, lead pellets are exempt from CA nonlead law, it’s much cheaper and hassle free to purchase. For that reason and not having to go through the stupid background check every time l purchase ammos or shotgun shells. I purchased my first air rifle a Seneca Aspen .25 cal. Love it but too heavy to carry around for long period of time, so l bought an Airforce Condor SS to hunt with. Looked at FX Impact .25cal but out of my price range. Can you give me some inputs on how the FX Impact performs? In case some day l might want to upgrade to an Impact. Thank you!
Thanks, been looking at this gun for awhile, but concerned about reported seal trouble. Think going to wait for next generation and see Also, your a good sized fellow, how difficult was the pumping action? I’m a short 💩 and the pumping radius looks pretty long on camera. Thanks
Still a sweet gun. I'm still using it and it's working great. Regarding the pumping radius, my son can pump it with no problem. He's about 5'0" right now.
Been wanting tye .22cal version of this!!! But still skeptical about the failure of the built in pump system 🤔....every vid I see I always ask this question....:HOW IS YOUR HOLDING UP?... HAVE IT FAILED OR NOT AND IF NOT, WHAT'S YOUR SECRETTO MAINTAINING IT FROM DOI G SO? THANKS
Update. I have two of these guns. One started to make a small noise which I conclude is a small leak in the seal. It still shoots fine and it seems that it doesn't make the noise all the time. Not sure what that means.
@24 Acres of Paradise I want one of these. Think it's cool to have the pump on the gun and you can carry a compressor or a hand pump for a 2nd backup. Seen these on sale for 330usd

So far I'm just going to follow the instructions to lubricate once every 250 tin of pellets. I guess we'll see if an issue crops up. I've almost shot 250 in the gun.

I totally agree. There's nothing like having an all-in-one gun so you don't have to lug a separate pump around.
At 30 yards it will spin using FX Impact mkll upon impact.

Not too heavy. A little bulky but that's kind of typical with pcps.

what thread size is the moderator for this gun
I need a fill probe for my senaca aspen 177 caliber please help
Which silencer thread does the rifle has? Does a 1/2" UNF silencer fit to the rifle?
You will want to get the .25/30 Tanto at www.donnyfl.com . The .22 fitting is too small and causes strikes against the suppressor.
No wonder it went through the plywood is bc it’s thin
