Thank you all who pointed out that Jacob Coe is voiced by Kent McCord and not Kyle McCarley. Kent McCord has been acting professionally since 1964 and got his big break as a recurring character in The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. He is best known for his role as Officer Jim Reed in Adam-12. Kent McCord also appeared in Airplane II: The Sequel, Predator 2, Galactica 1980, SeaQuest 2032, and Farscape. Starfield is his first acting credit since 2005.
Yeah, I was terribly confused when I saw McCarley listed in the video. Kent McCord's distinct and familiar voice jumped out at me when I played the game. Thanks for the clarification!
Thank you for the unwarned spoilers! You only get to choose certain things at the start- you need New Game + or to start again to see the rest. But who needs to get thier money's worth for £60/$70 they paid when everything is so inexpensive these days?!? Damn I buy a Bugatti every week when they get dirty 👏👏👏👏👌
@@nullone3181 TBF this game is very Trek if you play it that way. All the exploration and themes of discovery are there. I feel like an away team officer every time I land on a planet or board an abandoned station/vessel, pulling out my tricorder (scanner) and assessing my surroundings.
@@TironsLegend Not when it comes to writing, it's an extremely suburban middle class liberal setting, which they told us was going to be an optimistic one but is seemingly a totally stagnant neoliberal hellhole. The two factions are Starship Trooper liberals and Cowboy and cyberpunk larper libertarians, both big fans of capitalism which is actively suffocating seemingly a huge chunk of the total population. New Atlantis literally has a massive underground slum where MOST people live, Neon is literally a cyberpunk dystopia, Akila City is a libertarian hellhole to the extent that it has literal mud roads. Space is absolutely plagued by psychopathic pirates who seemingly have no ideology beyond being greedy assholes, not a single socialist or anti-capitalist faction, group or an individual even exists in this galaxy. None of the core pillars of Star Trek exist or can exist in this setting, in fact I'd say the entire game is pretty much a superficial amalgamation of a bunch of random scifi without anything deeper to it. I like the game, but the setting is fundamentally the opposite of Star Trek, and fundamentally lacks any inner substance or integrity.
@@nullone3181 Emphasis in my original comment "if you play it that way." Starfield has the very common Bethesda trait of offering everyone a little of everything. You can still be a moralistic Starfleet officer archetype, exploring strange new worlds and seeking out new life. But you can also be a fast and loose gunslinger rogue, a cyberpunk samurai, a militaristic conqueror, there are countless options. Constellation itself seems to have the most concentrated Trek vibes, I mean look at their space suit and tell me that doesn't look like a Starfleet EVA suit. The Lodge itself feels like many of the captains' quarters we've seen in shows over the years, with lots of memorabilia and artifacts celebrating exploration and human achievement. Also factions like the Enlightened are pretty aligned to a Federation type viewpoint. I agree I'd like the setting to be more Trek-like, but I don't think post-scarcity utopia is precisely what was promised, and in games where the economy is a core feature, it's hard to make a faction socialist or anti-capitalist without sociopathic players exploiting it for their in-game gain and breaking the game. All BGS settings are fundamentally broken in some way and the ongoing struggle (if you play as a good character) is to help as many people as you can despite knowing you won't be able to help and save everyone in the long run. Many of Trek's conflicts came from Starfleet arriving on a world or coming across a civilization who didn't quite have it figured out yet. Humanity in Starfield is clearly one of those civilizations that doesn't have it figured out yet. They're stumbling, making mistakes, but all the while still bettering themselves and striving for the stars. I think there is plenty of optimism to be had in the potential that humanity has in Starfield, that we're capable of doing great things. It just takes the right person (the player, hopefully) to help move everyone in that direction.
Agreed. I didn't know that was Keir Dullea. I was at the San Diego Comic-con in 2001 and met Gary Lockwood. He had some rather large still-frames of him and Keir (Poole and Bowman) in the pod talking about the possibility of shutting down HAL. Keir had already signed and dated them on his side of the photo, Lockwood's side was ready to be signed. All you had to do was buy it and he'd sign it. He didn't want a lot for it, I'm sure it's worth a LOT more than I paid for it. I think he only wanted $25. I considered it a steal. 22 years later it's still stored flat because I am waiting to have a place worthy of hanging it.
I just KNOW this took forever to put together! And I really do appreciate it! There are a few big actors like J Michael Tatum and Crispin Freeman who played in this that didn't make the video so I'm hoping you do a part two. It was nice playing the game and seeing I was right with recognizing voices! 😂
Claudia Christian brings back my favorite memories of them all. Called my ship "Susanova" in her honor ❤ Thank you for letting me know that she is part of my new favorite game since 2017. Starfield is just amazing in so many ways.
When I heard the inventor of the grav drive it made me jump a wee bit but hearing Ron hope gave me nam flash backs to “STOP YOU HAVE VIOLATED THE LAW WHAT SAY YOU IN YOUR DEFENCE”
here's a fun fact for ya'll - David Saughnessy, the voice of Dalton Fiennes, actually found his love of voice acting after doing the voice of Sir Didymus from the 1986 film Labyrinth also great idea to end of one of the best random encounters
I was literally thinking about him yesterday, I knew Stroud's voice was familiar but would never have guessed it. Also learning that Tuvok is my dad makes me sad that my Kid Stuff save bugged out his face, and his nose clips through his upper lip. Truly cursed.
I recognized two as soon as I heard them in game: Wes Johnson and Sumalee Montano. The former for his work in TES, especially Sheogorath, the latter because she voices one of the main characters in Guild Wars 2 which I have a... few... hours in.
One thing's for sure: we are way past Oblivion where every NPC sounded the same... Even Skyrim was plagued with that. Heck, Starfield's list of voice actors is longer than Oblivion's list of devs!
This is awesome, but you missed Captain Myeong! I loved listening to her speak. So smooth, so precise. A grammarian fantasy (LOL, I'm not weird (much)).
it's amazing how some people have certain inflections that come through when they say certain words or phrases. it's good to see voice acting finally being taken seriously.
I'm surprised you didn't mention Adrienne Barbeau as Betty Howser. For a kid of the '70s. hearing her voice and seeing her name in the credits totally made my day.
Thank you! I really enjoy learning which Voice actors are involved and which characters they Play!! Everyone is so great! It is nice to learn which actors voiced my "Mom ad Dad". Love this game! All the sincere best and ty!!
Some great voices and actors here... I didn't see the mineral sales in Akila. And thought that Va'Roon prisoner Mir'za sounded like Claudia Christian (Babylon 5). Overall great voice actors across the board, along with good scripts and story lines.
Darin De Paul's voice is instantly recognizable to Overwatch fans. I kept waiting for the Slayton Industries logo to be "Honor. Justice. Glory. Reinhardt! Reinhardt! Reinhardt!"
lol Ivonova Babylon 5, Spike and Jet Cowboy Bebop, Tuvok and Kira Naris Star Trek, Javik and Jack Mass Effect (3), Jafar from Alladin.... damn I knew that was Omega from Bad Batch... never woulda' guessed she was Asian though... after hearing how awesome the Valentine's ships are I can't WAIT to steal his ship next time we meet xD.
I rush through that quest, Keoni's voice is nails on chalkboard bad imo. Probably makes Davis look better too lol. The reward IS indeed top notch though!
Elias Toufexis is also the voice of Takkar in Far Cry Primal as well as dozen of other characters in games. He’s also a really nice guy ut you’re a fan and leave him a comment.
A lot of these voice actors resemble the characters they voiced. Sure some were motion captured into the game, but if they need actors for a live action adaptation the answer is obvious.
Damien who used to do Smosh, Cisco from The Flash and Hn from Two Broke Girls? Of course its Bethesda Alisa Reyes is best known from a TV show called All That if you're born before 1990

Kira as your mom, Tuvok as your dad, and Quark as the financier of Constellation. Bethesda's casting department has to be full of Trek fans.
That made me suddenly wish I had picked that trait.
I only wish their writing department had also been fans

Hellz yeah!
It really bothers me you didn't put Adam Jenson: Deus Ex as Elias Toufexis past work. Its arguably his most notable role.
Was gonna say the same thing
Indeed it is probably the most notable role he has had in video gaming and most people would know him from that.
They put Mara Juno's past work as Ikora from Destiny, but as far as I know, it's always been Gina Torres from Firefly.
I feel the same way about Darin de Paul. They failed to mention his role of Valkorian in SWTOR
@@GO0DWOLF Unfortunately they recast Ikora awhile ago. First we lost Mal (Cayde) and then Zoe

your parents are literally trekkies?!? holy cow, i knew the dad's voice was familiar and so was the mom's voice. now i know why.
Explains why they're so proud of you for joining Constellation, really.

Thank you for letting me know that she is part of my new favorite game since 2017.
Starfield is just amazing in so many ways.
Talos preserve you
I recognized the voices of charles and Ulfric instantly
When I heard the inventor of the grav drive it made me jump a wee bit but hearing Ron hope gave me nam flash backs to “STOP YOU HAVE VIOLATED THE LAW WHAT SAY YOU IN YOUR DEFENCE”
Same
First time I heard Walter speak in game I was like: "Quark? Is that you?"
same here. i know that voice anywhere
here's a fun fact for ya'll - David Saughnessy, the voice of Dalton Fiennes, actually found his love of voice acting after doing the voice of Sir Didymus from the 1986 film Labyrinth
also great idea to end of one of the best random encounters
The emissary's role isnt always the same, it can be different constellation members.
I can't believe I didn't realize Walter Stroud was Armin Shimerman, I'm a huge DS9 fan that's so cool.
I had no idea either. Did not even really sound like him either lol
I was literally thinking about him yesterday, I knew Stroud's voice was familiar but would never have guessed it.
Also learning that Tuvok is my dad makes me sad that my Kid Stuff save bugged out his face, and his nose clips through his upper lip. Truly cursed.
He also played principle Snyder on Buffy the vampire slayer
I recognized two as soon as I heard them in game: Wes Johnson and Sumalee Montano. The former for his work in TES, especially Sheogorath, the latter because she voices one of the main characters in Guild Wars 2 which I have a... few... hours in.

I loved that you saved the best for last lol hands down my fav encounter
This is awesome, but you missed Captain Myeong! I loved listening to her speak. So smooth, so precise. A grammarian fantasy (LOL, I'm not weird (much)).
66 different characters for fallout new Vegas is crazy. Love Emerson brooks.
The voice actor is one of the thing I really like about this game. They did such a good job
Impressive work, from Bethesda and yours with this video. thank you
6:00 is hilarious! I wasn't expecting his character.
Ending with The Valentine was the best choice lol
Holy shit, how the hell did i not recognize Damien's voice?! That's awesome!
it's amazing how some people have certain inflections that come through when they say certain words or phrases. it's good to see voice acting finally being taken seriously.
The Captain of the Valentine is the best... glad to know who that was :)
this is the best starfield video i have seen up to now , thank you .
Nothing like replacing Sea Shanties with Space Shanties :)
power to these VAs they have some mad range!
I knew Todd Haberkorn was the Drifter, but i didnt know how much more from Destiny's cast was here too!
Sam Coe's voice actor is also the voice of Adam Jensen from Deus EX series (a game by Square Enix).
He never ask for that
Surprised you didn't mention 'Adam Jensen' from Deus Ex in Elias Toufexis' previous works. His most famous credit of all!
Not to mention his role as the spy on The Expanse.
Did everyone also forget he was Sal in Need For Speed: Carbon?
6:04 should also put “and an adoring fan in oblivion”
I'm surprised you didn't mention Adrienne Barbeau as Betty Howser. For a kid of the '70s. hearing her voice and seeing her name in the credits totally made my day.
Even Jet Back is in this. Dayum! Bethesda really went balls to the wall here!
Well this is like 50 more voice actors than Skyrim had.
Armin Shimerman (Walter Stroud) also voiced Andrew Ryan in Bioshock.
Armin also played Principle Snyder in Buffy The Vampire Slayer season 2 and 3 with a special guest appearance as Snyder in Season 4's finale Primeval
Lin 😍❤️❤️❤️
I like the voices for The Hunter and also Vae Victus.
Matthew Mercer - Ezekiel. If you want a cross between MacCready and MacCree/Cassidy on your ship 🫡
Also leon Kennedy Resident evil
I loved running into space Ulfric 😂
It's amazing how the character designs almost match the real life person lol err except cora cole lol
No way!! Dad in this game is the "we aint found sheeit" dude from Spaceballs lmao.
While I was playing, I instantly recognized Steve Blum's voice from his work as Jakarn in Elder Scrolls Online
I really thought the voice actress for Curie in Fallout 4 voiced Dr. Judith Tatienne. They sound so similar.
Adoring Fan actor was Cicero in Skyrim by the sound of it.
Yes he was
Thank you! I really enjoy learning which Voice actors are involved and which characters they Play!!
Everyone is so great! It is nice to learn which actors voiced my "Mom ad Dad". Love this game!

Thanks for this, Starfield has great voice acting
As soon as I heard Matteo I went “IS THAT CARLOS VALDEZ FROM FLASH?!”
20:17 Cass 😍😍😍.
In past work for Darin de Paul, you should have listed SWTOR. His role as Emperor Valkorian is probably his biggest and best
He also did shadow of war, halo infinite, and overwatch didn’t he?
@@CallSignAlzaReinhardt in Overwatch. His Blizzcon appearances were legendary.

Voice as important as the visuals
LOL, Bumper Robinson - Zamis from Enemy Mine. Love all the sci fi actors from the past.
Wow JavierGrejada, Claudia Christian! Some household actors
I hadn't played long before I heard the most common voice from Skyrim. Stephen Russell..
I can't get the NCR out of my head when I hear Emerson Brooks
Professor Sharpe with a southern drawl. Never woulda imagined that!
I swear this game wants me to Marry Barrett everytime i talk to this guy lol im like bro im trying to get with Andreja and your not helping 😂

no wonder they made wes johnson an important and respected character, the man is a leyend for bethestha games, voiced the mythical oblivion guard

As in what the fans know them for.
Elias Toufexis is also Adam Jensen from the Deus Ex games.
i love all the voices of the starborns
Wow Sara Ryder from mass effect andromeda is in this.
To be honest I didn't even realize that was Sara ryders actress cuz in mass effect she sounds alot different
nice to see a face behind the companions i hated so much, Thank to Bethesda. I want my Lydia back.
Spike from Cowboy Bebop for the win
I knew Major Kira was my Mum!
Liiinnn!
Elias Toufexis is also the iconic ADAM JENSEN, Deus Ex 🕶️
Jacob Coe is voice by Kent McCord. This should be updated
you forgot Ezekiel from aggies bar in akila city who is voiced by Matt Mercer from critical role.
You forgot Commander Natara, she was voiced by Anjali Bhinani. She also voices another character but idk who. She voiced Symmetra on Overwatch
Why is Nana Visitor and Tim Russ being mom and dad oddly appropriate?
I run with Rosie Tannehill just for her voice/accent
how the fuck as an apex and ME:A player did i not recognize freya wolff speaking Jassamine ...
