Toyota IS200 3UZ V8 ZF 8 speed conversion!

- We've just finished fitting another ZF 8 speed gearbox conversion this time to a Lexus IS200 3UZ V8, transforming the performance of the car.
We fitted the 8HP70 ZF 8 speed gearbox from a BMW N57 using a PMC adaptor plate and the car already had a BMW manual gearbox fitted so we reused the custom mount already in place, easy! We also had the propshaft modified to fit the new gearbox position.
The ZF 8 speed gearbox is being controlled by the excellent Turbolamik TCU which has full control of the gearbox allowing you to fully map it to suit different power outputs and rev bands. You can read more about the Turbolamik TCU on our website here.

The control of the Turbolamik TCU offers near OEM smoothness coupled with super fast shift speed in manual or auto modes. We can perform the ZF 8 speed gearbox conversion on more or less any RWD car and some 4WD cars too!

The is literally the Lexus ISF before the ISF. Incredible!! The Lexus ISF has the AA80E transmission, which is slow but reliable 8 speed transmission compared to the modern ZF transmission. I been saying this for years, look at the A90 supra, Dodge's Challengers and Chargers and what do they have in common? that ZF 8HP transmission. Only if a Lexus ISF/GSF/RCF had it that car would be deadly. I'm glad your team are bringing cars back to life!!! keep it up
The AA80e is not slow what so ever
@@350Carmine compared to a ZF, ZF will gap an AA80E. Don’t get me wrong it was fast when it was released in 2007-8? But the same transmission is in the ISF and IS500
@@CareoverISF trans still takes the dub till this day, Lexus know what they’re doing when they dropped that trans in the ISF. Lightning fast and reliable as hell plus they hold good amount of power too
How much did you have to modify the tunnel to fit this trans?
AA80 is also tunable, check the videos on that issue ( for example Loi ).
Good God that speedo climb is incredible. Should get it back tomorrow, I'll stick a video up once it's on the road.

What ecu mates well with the Turbolamik with 8hp for the 2jz in an Aristo? But GE block
You can use any ecu with it.
Couple question, is it ULEZ COMPLIANT ? Where did you get this done ? And how much roughly ? Just got an is200 n wish to do this
Not a clue if it's ULEZ compliant, I don't go anywhere near London unless someone is paying my expenses. If that's a concern then this is not the car for you. How much for what, the gearbox swap or the entire engine build as well? You could probably get a 3uz and the gearbox in the car for 10k, but you'd probably be stretching that budget a fair bit.
Technically is it ULEZ complaint as the chassis is before the engine swap

There are several type of 8hp7, can you be more specific pls due to the bell housing size they won’t all fit I assume!?
Depends on what bell housing adaptor you are using. N57 is the most popular in the uk.

Transmision £4000, 3uz adapter plate £800. Add a couple more thousand for ECU and labour

TCU is Turbolamik, but no clue on the ready. Motor looks stock but nobody will answer jack. I'm doing an almost identical setup (in my mkiii Supra) and will share my specs and numbers.
