    Great tutorial - made my first bag today using your detailed instructions (without the hole!). Thought I had the zipper opening on the right, but no, it was on the left as I wanted. Duh on pulling just the lining through to close the bottom up! But all said and done, it came out perfect. Can't believe it!

    Just wanted to thank you for the very good tutorial. Broke my ankle in March, needed something to do in rehab. Ordered everything from FQS for Flea Market Flowers. After I came home in May, I decided to work on my fabric stash. I, so far have made 9 project bags. Getting a little faster. Keep trying to make them a little stiffer. Peltek is not bad. Very difficult to work with when turning the bag. Thanks again and congrats on your wedding.

    What a great tutorial for a simple project bag. I'm very much at a beginner level when it comes to sewing, but I was able to make this in just a few hours and my zipper (first one I've ever done) only came out slightly crooked! I'm calling it a win. Thank you for the step by step! I love my new project bag.

    This is the best tutorial I've seen! I love that it's made from solid pieces. So many tutorials show them done with small pieces that have to be quilted together first. They're cute, and I love quilting, but don't want to have to do it for a project bag. Thank you!

    I just finished making a bag following your tutorial, thank you very much. It was a tad more difficult for
    me because I used a cris stitch piece so I have to add fabric to the side and ended up a size different than yours so have to figure out sizes. Made a few mistakes, including putting the front upside down despite your warning, so ripped and did it again. I even made a zipper pull for it. I of course have you credit for the tutorial in instagram

    Very nice tutorial. An option for the corner fix would be to box the two bottom corners and not have to unsew the lining to repair the corner. It would also create a little more room at bottom of the bag.

  • @kimberlyoboyle451

    If I started a Quilty-tube it would be called "Obsessed with Points". Something I've seen as to why the corner was cut off was, that the outer panels and the inner panels when sewed together do not exactly match one another. It's a good idea to pinch or pin thru the corner on one and see where it lands on the other, before cutting. I almost cut thru my point too!! (Only the bottom outer pair and inner pair do not match, the top corners match because they were all sewn together.)

    Great tutorial and a great bag for Christmas gifts. I'm glad you left the mistake because it really makes us concentrate when we trim. When we hear it from you to not trim to close and we see what happens when we trim to close, visual, with me at least, stays longer. Again thank you I have seen many how they sew the lining and the outside fabric. Yours is easier and it seems like it's a step less. Thank you so very much again have a wonderful day and I'm glad these videos stay on TH-cam

    I just made 4 bags. 2 for me and 2 for my bestie who strong armed me into learning cross stitch last year. Zippers! What a pain! 1 bag I clipped the corner same as you 🤣. It took 2 tries to fix that darned corner. I’m quite proud of my 4 finished bags. Also, I love to cross stitch despite my reluctance to start. 😜 Thanks for the tutorial.

    Soooo, I am NOT a sewer any way way, shape for or fashion. I have tried multiple times, and always fail. And kinda (?) did today also. I dont know where I went wrong. But my pieces of fabric didnt line up, so I had to cut it down to be shorter. And somehow, someway, I did the zipper on the inside! ROFL! So now my inside is my outside. I have since sent your link to my daughter (the real sewer in the family) and have asked her to make it for me. I have resolved myself to not being able to sew! Lol

    • @elizabethanncanstitch
      @elizabethanncanstitch  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re welcome!! The interfacing gives the bag its body and sturdiness. You can make it with just the cotton but it will be very floppy and won’t hold any kind of shape!
