My allergies are terrible. I can't eat Dairy, Nuts (all), Wheat, and Eggs. But I still live a normal life. I started OIT a while back for milk/dairy, I can now comfortably drink and consume milk. I am still working on everything else though. I stopped going to the doctor for the treatment as it was too expensive. So my parents helped me do it on my own.
At timestamp 1:41 , they say that at the start of the treatment, they give most patients a series of injections to lower the immune response. That sounds smart. The reason I mention it is that I am wondering if they also do this with the normal way most allergists treat patients now? Also, do they just bypass having Scratch tests done? Is this radically different? Does it work? Is it covered by most insurances? I don’t see many comments on it either.
Desensitization used to be called, 'shut up and eat everything on your plate' and that doctor probably invoices $100,000 to the insurance provider, which jacks up everyone's insurance. their price justification is that its probably cheaper than an ER visit for anaphylactic shock by a penny. what a bunch of crooks.
@@WarriorCODM-nn9vw I only took my test to get my allergies and haven’t started yet. Recently gave birth 😫. But found out I’m allergic to hazelnut and I’ve been tearing up those Ferrero Rocher hazelnut balls 🍫 😭
@@RickyandGandi I’m here with a walnut allergy and been weak due to not trying other foods which are meant to be good for my nutrition I hate thinking about having anaphylaxis 😭
@@WarriorCODM-nn9vw only walnuts? You’re lucky. 😫 I’m allergic to shrimp, crawfish, lobster, walnuts, and hazelnuts. And I found out my wheat allergy is very mild. Hazelnut is extreme though.
@@RickyandGandi My walnut allergy is only mild since I ate 1 but spat most of it out only a little bit I swallowed it’s been 1 year since it has happened my family want me to try fruit and other stuff but I’m worried that I’d get a reaction and be allergic to that too

What could be causing allergies to double every 10 year? It has to be something people are doing, that doesn't make sense.
