This was my favorite boss fight in DS3. It's not very hard, but the way the first phase tends to devolve from a 1v1 duel to a free for all is really exciting.
Honestly the abyss watchers fight a lot like bloodborne hunters. If you played bloodborne then they aren't really that hard and are actually enjoyable.
BlackStar 458 Of course Artorias and the watchers are almost the same moves, but i meant the fire and the way they fight is like Lady Maria in her 3rd phase...
I defeated the Abyss Watchers on my first try and i must say, so far, this is one of the best bosses in this game. The music, the design, their move set are *incredible*
This was the SOLE reason that I bought Dark Souls III!! I watched my brother fight them and fell in love with the music and the "dance" that this fight is. Also, I totally beat them my first try. 😉
This is my favorite boss in the entire souls series. Gameplay wise, they’re one of, if not the best multi fight boss in the game, and story wise, these dudes are absolute chads that would bury entire kingdoms just to keep even the slightest bit of the abyss from taking the world. The abyss may be unstoppable, but the fact they still fight against it is just chad tier respect from me.

Damn, been a while since I saw this fight, such a badass boss. Wicked design, cool cutscenes, interesting mechanics and a git gud section in 2nd half to test your mettle without help. 9.5/10

In my opinion it's the most underrated boss from the Soulsbornes, you hardly ever hear it mentioned and it's bloody glorious
Probably one of the easiest bosses for me but one of my absolute favorites, the feel of the fight , the ost is my favorite in DS3 , the design of the Watchers , I loved it

Like where you can hit them and they stagger, but not to where you can keep them staggered. Like no poise (except during attacks) but a super fast recovery time from being staggered.
Dogf ish She mostly leaps away before I even get to attack her.(Battle Axe) Unless she does one of her stronger attacks.
I would rather have that. Thiis boss fight, as cool as it is, feels kinda easy because of the health pool. And also, it's easy to stagger them
I remember oh my first play through, one of the other abyss watcher killed him, I was laughing my ass off until I realized he had 2 phases
6:54 loughed so hard ,,Nononono....we can talk about-......“
"Let there be joy"
THERE IS NO JOY!!!

Hey, for the soul of cinder keep the youtuber GenerationHollow's reaction in mind. He freaked out at the second phase.
Also, keep him in mind for the Gael fight as well. I loved his reaction.
I saw his reactions. They were perfect.
Darth Lily Hollow = 👌
Favorite boss, looks cool, interesting lore and gives a good old fashion sword fight, man everytime I lose I was just more eager to come back for a fight, the Abyss Watchers are the best
Watching all those old videos really put into perspective how good I was at the game at the time without noticing. I didn't struggle too much when it came to bosses, except the Nameless King. The amount of patience I had, I dont think I could these days.
This was my favorite boss fight in DS3. It's not very hard, but the way the first phase tends to devolve from a 1v1 duel to a free for all is really exciting.
Nice use of the opening cutscene for the intro. I like that a lot!
You need to upgrade vigor NOW casual
You speak truth. We are working on that now.
A bow for the abyss watchers seriously?? Lmao
@@mbuitink1334 And they succeeded!!!
This is by far my favorite boss and it has some of my favorite reactions hahha nice nice
Steven Paniagua saaaaaaaaame
Same
I had to laugh. They all beat the first round celebrating. And he stands again more pissed fire buffed and all.
Abyss watcher- "Surprise mutherfucker"
''yep, I was able to survive 2 seconds of that''
has 10 vigor, naked, thrall axe
me: ''yep, you're doing something wrong bud''
Nah man, glass cannon builds are the most fun
@@ashikjaman1940 If you know what you're doing. If you're an idiot, like most streamers are, you're gonna have a bad time.
@@littlemoth4956 Nah, still fun even if you suck. Dying is just part of the game after all
Nah he is alpha as fuck, our puny bitch minds cannot comprehend
I never lvl up vigor, u can get used to it with no problems
I love Christopher Odd, he's a legend. His playthroughs of the souls games are some of the best on youtube tbh.
Honestly the abyss watchers fight a lot like bloodborne hunters. If you played bloodborne then they aren't really that hard and are actually enjoyable.
Yeah, i really came here to see if anyone notices the similarity between the Abyss Watchers and Lady Maria. Was disappointed!
Sylvie' Artorias*
BlackStar 458 Of course Artorias and the watchers are almost the same moves, but i meant the fire and the way they fight is like Lady Maria in her 3rd phase...
You know the intro to the boss fight is an callback to Bloodborne, the zoom in on the Watcher makes him look like the Hunters from Bloodborne
The Abyss Watchers are as if they were Sons of Lady Maria and Artorias
Watching this video really reminds of the beauty of this boss fight. in general the Dark Souls 3 bosses are amongst my favorites.
Rentenente
Im up to potiff and so far only two were decent, DS3 has alot of shit bosses.
3:26 ah thank god they killed the guy who will help me kill the boss
9:27 I always love the use of the knife/dagger as well
I defeated the Abyss Watchers on my first try and i must say, so far, this is one of the best bosses in this game. The music, the design, their move set are *incredible*
Same on the one of the best bosses and on the first try
2nd try, was really fun fighting them and learning they fight eachother was noice
Soul of Cinders second phase nostalgia got me most
3 tries here
the fight was great and fun tho
"He's fast"
Oh boi, oh boi boi, wait till they see the other bosses...
3:35 When you’re being bullied but your big brother pulls up
This was the SOLE reason that I bought Dark Souls III!! I watched my brother fight them and fell in love with the music and the "dance" that this fight is.
Also, I totally beat them my first try. 😉
same here, I bought the game just to get their gear. First tried it to, but I did play bloodborne as my first souls game.
Ayyy, second try over here.
Ayyy, third try over here.
It don't matter how many tries U beat them, "beat them" is what matters .
5:10 *reads message* “let there be joy” BrickyOrchid8: “there is no joy” 😂
Just the way he stands back up after getting beaten gives me goosebumps, like he sees you as a worthy advesary to see that form
I've been waitin for this video! Abyss watchers are one of my favorite bosses in the series.
They're also my favorite in the series, nere perfect.
Dude, I just met your channel and idk if people tell you this, but DAMN you have a fine editiing seriously, the timing to switch between vods is amazing, they always fit eat other very smoothly, good job man, thats an awesome work you do!
I love this fight so much, the lore of it, the music just everything!! It’s probably the best fight in the game for me personally. I love coming back to it.
3:08
Christopher Odd: just give me a break for a sec.
Abyss Watcher: Bro this is a dark souls boss fight what did you think you were getting yourself into.
I love the sound of the sword hitting the stones and other swords, its so damn fucking good.
beat the game today and have to say Abyss watchers are still my personal fav boss just coz it was the first main boss i faced and as a new comer to this series they really taught me to play this game, for me the hardest boss was Pontiff not saying that dancer ,nameless or final bosses were easier but by that time i mastered this game and took them out within 5 tries , overall an amazing experience
Love how Christopher literally fights the abys watcher with the other abyss watcher 😂😂 it’s hilarious even though I did the exact same thing
I love how this boss is basically a litmus test for who played blood borne more than once
Abyss Watchers = Noob Slayer :3
and when you summon Sirris, not Gotthard....
Nah that title belongs to Pontiff
I thought that belonged to the dancer. So many need help with that boss it's a gold mine of souls for me XD
I actually found the dancer okay. While gundyr f.e. was terrifying (maybe because i didn't parry him)
A scrub stomper. Like a mid-term.
My first reaction to this boss's cut scene was "is he doing bankai?"
First phase: Sikai
Second phase: Bankai
Abyss Watchers be like:

@@juggernog1215 … get it… because they’re wearing hats… and one has red eyes
Got to stay close to him. Seems like keeping your distance is dead sentence.
This is my favorite boss of all time out of any game ever. Every. Single. Thing. Is. Amazing.
Came for the best song in the game...only rivaled by Soul of cinder phase 2 ost...nice vid nonetheless.
I love this boss so much. Unmeasurably so.
Damn, been a while since I saw this fight, such a badass boss. Wicked design, cool cutscenes, interesting mechanics and a git gud section in 2nd half to test your mettle without help. 9.5/10
bro that intro literally made me almost shit myself with fear when he turned around and pointed at you
This brings back horrible, horrible memories. I've beaten some of the toughest bosses on Elden Ring, DS3 and Bloodborne and I'll always remember this fight as the one which absolutely broke my spirit until I got through it. In my opinion it's the most underrated boss from the Soulsbornes, you hardly ever hear it mentioned and it's bloody glorious
6:29 “what if another one just stands up” oh the irony
11:17 nobody gonna talk about how smooth that was?
It made my jaw drop.
Probably one of the easiest bosses for me but one of my absolute favorites, the feel of the fight , the ost is my favorite in DS3 , the design of the Watchers , I loved it
I am so surprised that I managed to get them on first try. I am not really experienced Soulslike player and my friends who were watching were like 'OMG'. Felt so great
Every time I play through the game again, I always look forward to this boss more than anything, purely for the first 30 seconds of the theme.
BrickyOrchid8: „Abyss Watchers? There’s only one of you!“
The other 3 Abyss Watchers waiting in the corner, ready to jump him: *Understandable, have a great day*
Can't wait for Yhorm: that should be fun...X)
How many will go the path of the boss and not use the storm ruler I wonder.
DarknessFlameDragon5 A depressing amount of people. I searched for reactions when the game first came out. Almost no one got it. And some even got the WA gimmick but didn't charge it.
Eduardo Pratti I know brickyard didn't, but who else didn't.
DarknessFlameDragon5 Does it count if I'm not a youtuber and didn't use the storm ruler?
I mean, you've accomplished something most don't either out of inability or laziness, but no it doesn't count in this context.
1:49
'Two hits'
Your VIG is like fucking 10
What are you talking about? Surely nothing's wrong with only leveling up Dex.
I meant he sounded so surprised like
'Oh,why did I die while fighting a strong boss without putting any souls into my HP'
UnicornChicken Lol that's the youtuber himself isn't it
Bro fighting these dudes is like going in a free for all and I love it
The third Abyss Watcher is such a freaking homie. Without his distractions or tag team, my under leveled ass would have never have gotten to phase 2.
That is until his AI sees you closer and decides to murk you too.
"At least they come back", yeah they do...
PrayForJoe huh?
if you are looking for good youtuber reactions theSw1thcer is a good one to try they have already played all the souls games and have some good reactions
Them having a stand battle with Pontiff Sullivan is great
That's real nito TARKUS TARKUS TARKUS TARKUS TARKUS!
"THEY'RE FIGHTING EACHOTHER, THEY'RE FIGHTING EACHOTHER!"
"OOOOOOOOO"
Which episode was that again?
That's real nito nah, Ana from 8 bites is better.

- Wait...
[few seconds passed - the other guy probably realised it without admiting it to himself]
- What?
- Did you see there's 2 of them?
...
Still one of my favorite bosses and I love their sword, gets me through my playthroughs with ease
Goblin boy did not pass the Vigor check, that's for sure.
