    It's one thing for the younger cat's to pay tribute to Cornell. But for the previous generations, it's really something. None of us will get over this. Incomprehensible.

      + Duffer Man I agree completely. Microdosing on MDMA, psilocybin or LSD may have been much better. I really hope headway is made with those treatments for depression, which by most accounts are amazingly effective.

      Duffer Man couldn't agree more! i take meds for depression, dr said i could drink while taken klonapin once it got in my system, it can actually be a deadly combination but i no longer drink so i don't have to worry about that. drs give meds without actually knowing if the patient needs them or not.

      Bob Pugliese It was accidental. His bodyguard gave him 2 Ativans and his widow says that when she talked to him on the phone his speech was slurred...this is a known side effect of Ativan. It is also lunked with suicidal thoughts. Not to mention almost everyone was truly puzzled on why Chris would kill himself. NO ONE believes he had this in mind before taking the meds. Not to mention Chris was a member of the Greek Orthodox church, the main reason he was sober for over ten years. Me personally...i think it was a setup. I dont know what for, but something ain't right...

    • @bobpugliese4428
      @bobpugliese4428 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      activan is a treatment for anxiety not depression.depression is a possible side affect.it rarely causes problems unless mixed according to the medical journals.his bodyguard is supposed to protect him so why is he administering anything.now tmz reports fresh track marks.if you think he was sober your naive. rock stars are professionals at self administering and even better at hiding it.his wife said his speech was impaired. maybe at that point ypu call hotel security to check on him unless there's a chance of being busted.wait for the toxology report unless they cremate the before completion.religion is a great mask to hide behind(not all) if you go to church on sunday for an hour then you cant posibly get high.(really) I wittnessed priests priests drinking and being drunk the whole time(again not all but more than you think)this is the person you confess to free you of sin.read the bible and tell me where they came up with that and praying to saints and mary(sorry got side tracked) couple of examples elvis michael jackson prince weren't they religious and drug free. I think Chris was a great talent and I like the music. a legend is someone who makes significant changes in their field or has endured all the changes and still can sell out stadiums even after half their fans died because they appeal to new generations or they were here a short time and people still aknowledge them 50 years later.sorry but cobaine holds the legend status not by talent by timeing because he is recognized for pioneering the grunge movement

    We've lost many music icons over the years, but I must say that the amount of love and sorrow, expressed by people around the world in reaction to Chris' death, is absolutely phenomenal. The outpouring of grief and shock from fans, the media, and especially fellow singers and musicians, is a tribute not only to his talents, but to his character as well. So many fans have expressed their gratitude for his inspiration, and for his music getting them through some very dark times in their lives. The musical tributes from his peers, in respect and admiration for one of the nicest people in the business, is overwhelming. It will take awhile, but I intend to watch every single one of them. RIP Chris Cornell. You stood among giants, and towered above them.

      Miller Foster998HN if you don't care then why are you even here posting? I was born in the 80's when heavy metal was running wild and when grunge came along I did not know what to think of it but I eventually embraced it and like it quite a bit. I have seen Brooks and Dunn and Alan Jackson in concert and they are both great but to shit on a genre just because you don't like it is pretty sad. Aerosmith is also great live and they put on one hell of a show. Go ahead and insult me because it really doesn't bother me.

      Miller Foster998HN I never drank anything, if a band makes music that I like then I listen to it. I have quite a vinyl collection and I have stuff that ranges from the 50's until probably the 80's with maybe a record or two from this century. I'm 32 and only listen to the classics, not gonna listen to Kanye West or Bieber. Grunge was apart of my generation in the 90's just like rock was apart of my generation when I was really young in the 80's. By the beginning of the 21st century I really stopped embracing new genres because I think they suck.

    It's good that a legend played tribute to Chris Cornell as well. Aerosmith has been a band longer than I have been alive. Steven Tyler also went through his struggles with addiction and he is still here to tell the tale. The first time I heard Chris Cornell's voice I was seven years old. My babysitter was watching the music video playing on TV, Soundgarden and Audioslave bring back good memories when I was young. Chris Cornell will be missed.

    I wasnt a ever a huge Soundgarden, Audioslave or whoever fan, but I liked quite a few of their songs and saw Chris once with Soundgarden back in 2014. He gave off something that said he was very stable. Not the type to take his own life. I still can't believe he did this. I know he killed himself, but it's very difficult to believe he's gone from this earth. It's strange. I didnt think id think about it as much as I am.

    • @el34glo59
      @el34glo59 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Goonerville Gonad He always felt stable and calm up there. He hid it great. You didn't even hear about his alcoholism and drug use as much unless you looked into it back in tbe day. He always seemed in control and the one who would make it. He gave off that feeling too. Unfortunately he was just amazing at hiding it and I think that made it worse. That's why it's so shocking to people though. You always felt Chris would pull through. It's so sad.

    • @acarlovonsexron1994
      @acarlovonsexron1994 7 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      He definitely had his demons and problems in the past, but he was stable and happy. He'd lived through poverty, seeing friends and peers dying, his band breaking up, pill and drinking addiction, rehab, an extremely long and bitter divorce, but in the past fifteen years he had put everything together and was happy with his family. The thing with this anti anxiety medication he took, it specifically can have acute terrible side effects especially in former opiate addicts and sufferers of depression that had suicidal thoughts in the past, of which Chris was both. I'm with his wife, I just don't think he was in his right mind. An hour before his final show he was making plans with her for Memorial Day weekend. That's not something a person planning on killing themselves does. He even told the crowd in Detroit "See you guys next time," even though from footage he visibly seemed fucked up. I think he took a few too many pills to go to sleep (their other purpose) and his mind tricked him. It's fucking tragic, but this is the only solace I think his kids can get. That he loved them and it was an accident. Just terrible.

    • @delfin7461
      @delfin7461 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      it's so very tragic that the meds that can be helpful in one moment can be so very damaging in another. He will be so missed. I think you summed things up perfectly. I really do wish we had better controls on what meds people took and how they took them. We lost Heath Ledger the same way, so very tragic

    • @el34glo59
      @el34glo59 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Carlo Von Sexron I understand all that but he planned this. There's no way he didn't think about it before. Here's my theory as I've dealt with depression. I think the timing and meds contributed. But he was in a bad place. Even if he hid it and said see you next time. I think the feeling of releasing all of it on stage, one of his outlets was music, gave him temporary relief. But when he got back to the room it hit him hard again. Anyway here's what I think. BTW I take Valium, have for a long time, and deal with depression. Two Ativan aren't
      going to do it.
      I think he had a good performance despite what some are saying. He's 52 and he was fuckin going off at the end. No one expects him to sound like he's in his 20s or 30s. That shit was one of the few times I felt it deep in my bones with him live. Unfortunately it's haunting as hell and speaks volumes. But the performance was unreal at the end.
      Here's what in think happened. He relies on his music obviously to vent and clear his head. It's how he copes with his depression. And when he wasn't singing he drank or used to cope. When he cleaned up singing was all he had. Which is why he came out like a cannon with Audioslave. He started to age more and did some other stuff. Solo stuff etc. He still had an outlet. But I think this past year or two he started to get very tired. Physically tired. And without that energy he couldn't perform like he wanted to. He was probably ready to collapse here, even though he sounded good and put every ounce of energy in it. He probably told himself he can't keep it up, especially soundgarden shows, and felt boxed in. I think he wanted the reunion again first nd realized it was to much. For a lot do reasons. Physically and bringing up the past. Started to think about suicide or at least some dark outlooks. Thought about how using wasn't an option and if he can't keep performing what will he do. Had an especially bad night physically and mentally, you could tell he was worn out, also took some depressants, and lost it. Felt suffocated and had no where to go. Had a panic attack and he did it. I think that's why he took the extra Ativan. He had a terrible night and as panicking inside. They probably made it worse unfortunately. I have a feeling he took a large amount during the show. I can see it. Reminds me of Benzos. And that "couple" extra he took later was more then a couple.
      It's sad as hell and fuckin tragic.

    • @delfin7461
      @delfin7461 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      We will never know and just more proof that we need to do all we can do understand the evil monster of depression.. I have suffered from some really dark times too. And after some really negative experiences with meds, I just have learned to handle things on my own, sometimes successfully, sometimes losing days, weeks even months of my life by just walking through life, but not living it.
      We all make choices, I am far too afraid of what the various meds can do.. for me they cloud whatever clarity I might have.
      As as you said, it's sad as hell and tragic.

    I can't believe Areosmith is still rocking it today and still sound pretty dam good. If you would have told me 20 years ago that Steven Tyler would have lived longer than Chris Cornell I would have thought your crazy. I seen Areosmith live in Cincinnati Ohio a few years back and Tyler discussed his battles with drug addiction in a very sincere lengthy way. He is a inspiration to many people and has been through hell and back. For Steven Tyler to sit up on stage knowing what he's been through and relate that to Chris Cornell and his fans is truly inspiring and heart touching. This tribute was right on. It was a tribute to let the world know, we lost a legend in Chris Cornell, but Rock n Roll is still here. We feel the pain and remember the good times, but the music never dies. It's here for all of us, Chris left it here for all of us. Thank you Steve Tyler for this tribute. We all needed this. RIP Chris Cornell.

Outlet for a generation's love, grief, soul-searching, path to recovery.... doesn't matter but is all important. Every tribute is a gift and an honor. A time to hold space and feel. We're so blessed to have this outlet. Lot of us didn't back in the 90s. Technology can be a curse, yet a boon in this time when seekers need to connect. Well he was lucky the others were good enough to clean up after him. Musicians get usually fired for less than that, in front of way smaller audiences, this has nothing to do with audience size.

      She is Katarina Benzova, the GN'R photographer. She doesn't invade nor block the stage in such way at their shows... Not very profesional really. I get that she wants to get the best shots but, c'mon, don't fuck up other's vision.

    This crazy upside down, inside out world we live in, makes less sense than ever, when someone such as Chris Cornell makes the decision to check out. We need more like him here. There are so many questions always left unanswered. In honor of him, perhaps giving more compassion, understanding, peace, and love to ourselves, and then we may extend that expression to others. May ultimate peace be with you, and prayers extended to your family.
