Yesterday afternoon I was just wondering what happened with my phone number and email address and I was wondering what you think about you any other way to make this work you would have to go where I am Now
Dan Hobbs... He loved those kids. I hope you never find yourself in a situation where you temporarily don't have a hold of your mental faculties. Because if you do, and your mind tells you you have to escape, like his did that night, people will sit around and judge you just like you're doing to him. I won't, though, because I understand what it feels like. I always swore I would never leave my kids like that, and that suicide was only for the selfish. But that was before I got educated in a very real way when I had -- out of the blue -- no warning -- sudden suicidal ideations. For weeks. Never happened before. All of a sudden I was incapable of even thinking of how it would crush them. My thoughts went instead to which rafter in the basement would hold the rope the best. No shit. And it was terrifying. I only got through it because of my husband watching me constantly and my God coming through for me as well. Oh, and btw, it was Ativan that caused it in me. I have since quit it, and despite what it did to me, and what I believe it did to him, I still crave it most days. He was not in his right mind that night and while I'm only speculating, I think Chris would absolutely take it back if he could. Best wishes to you. Not trying to be confrontational; just trying to explain a little something.

I keep coming to watch this play by Tom. Its amazing how Chris and Tom so effortlessly transition from one vocal masterpiece to another with the strings.
Not to knock on any other bands, because I've done it before, and it is hard to do night after night... but so much respect to Chris for hitting all of his notes, no matter how high and how hard. How many times have you seen a band live and been so disappointed when they drop down an octave on your favorite part of each song??!! Chris sang each note as intended, with so much raw and beautiful power behind every breath. Truly... "No one sings like you anymore"....

Currently quarantined in Detroit Mi, one of the biggest hot spots in the country for Covid-19 and listening to Chris is really helping me get through this. Listening to him live on my TV every night is like seeing him in concert all over again. RIP to the greatest voice in rock and roll.
For a long time I didn't know who the man was behind the songs I loved so much! Then I saw a picture of him on a friends fb with long curly hair and beautiful eyes! Why do all the good ones die young? Your voice lives on for me with my favorite ring tones like I am the Highway currently.
There are many talented singer in the history of rock and metal....robert plant, ian gillan, axl, dave, kurt, eddie etc but for me the greatest ever are layne and chris...no one can match their voice
I don't know how other people let you slide on this for so long bro no he was not the drummer for Soundgarden he was the lead singer for Soundgarden at least you had the band right!👍 R.I.P Chris Cornell

Tom Morello's solo in this song and in "Like a Stone" are my two favorite solos of his. I mean in my humble opinion, they are truly brilliant and inspired.

I was raised on Soundgarden and that amazing voice by Cornell. I was heartbroken when I heard the news man. There have been a number of unfortunate musician deaths in recent years, but this one hit me hardest. RIP Chris. You were extraordinary
My man going on nothing but sheer will. He looks like hes given everything he had in him. I love this performance, its a gift to see inside someone's soul when they are doing what they love.
I dont even know what to write. Chris Cornell spoke for so many of us going through issues with mental health or self confidence. He was an advocate for the weak and misguided. He inspired so many of us to reach out and explore the possibilities of our dreams and wishes. To be better humans than we though we were capable of being. I for one will always have his music and message be a part of my life and my sons life. Im just upset that he could not beat his own demons or didnt have that person in his life that gave him the same inspiration. RIP Chris Cornell you are Legend. Brother we love you and your Ohana.

With the lost of my father still weighing on me and struggling through detox from opiate addiction. This video brings me to tears every time I watch it - the pain in Chris's voice. The greatest vocal talent of my time on this earth. I only wish I could have listened to him a little while longer 🙏RIP My Friend 🤘
Breaks my heart I'll never hear this voice live
shante jackson I feel so lucky and honoured to have seen Chris live with Soundgarden.
I am with you.... I had the chance and I never went to see him live, thinking I will see him next time..... There was no next time
Same. Ill never her chris or kirt. Hopefully, when im old enpugh ill be able to see Pearl jam. Fingers crossed
Yep, same here when he came to auckland, I was so close to going but didn't, thought ill catch him next time and 2 months later he was dead.
I've vowed to myself that as soon as this covid crap is done with and the chillis tour again I'm going to see them.

That song was written by Prince. Him and Chris are truly 2 of the greatest that will Forsure be missed
It is said that many legends sing through there own pain . The pain in Chris Cornell's eyes is deep. RIP Sir thank you 🕯
Yesterday afternoon I was just wondering what happened with my phone number and email address and I was wondering what you think about you any other way to make this work you would have to go where I am Now
The eyes dont lie chico, RIP legend
I wish i had discovered his music earlier. He has one of the most beautiful voices. R.I.P
Anuhea812 He was beautiful outside and inside, that' s why hr will be missed...
Chris C. Was a selfish human he had family daughters R.I.Hell
Not trying to be confrontational; just trying to explain a little something.
your and stupied
Dan Hobbs Well aren't you lovely ;) Have a great day and enjoy your hatred.
RIP. You are immortalized in your music. We won't forget you legend

Pearls and swine bereft of me
Long and weary my road has been
I was lost in the cities
Alone in the hills
No sorrow or pity for leaving I feel
I am not your rolling wheels
I am the highway
I am not your carpet ride
I am the sky
Friends and liars don't wait for me
I'll get on all by myself
I put millions of miles
Under my heels
And still too close to you
I feel
I am not your rolling wheels
I am the highway
I am not your carpet ride
I am the sky
I am not your blowing wind
I am the lightning
I am not your autumn moon
I am the night

He sang the hell out of that song. Gifted and will never be forgotten. Compare these lyrics to any genre and it t beats them all
💞👏
He was a gentle soul out of place in this world.
He is and will be missed for a very long time to come.

That part of the song that Tom plays at 3:18 just makes me feel like everything is going to be alright. So nice and peaceful
Tom is amazing
I keep coming to watch this play by Tom. Its amazing how Chris and Tom so effortlessly transition from one vocal masterpiece to another with the strings.
RIP Chris Cornell, one of the greatest rock singers ever
Not to knock on any other bands, because I've done it before, and it is hard to do night after night... but so much respect to Chris for hitting all of his notes, no matter how high and how hard. How many times have you seen a band live and been so disappointed when they drop down an octave on your favorite part of each song??!! Chris sang each note as intended, with so much raw and beautiful power behind every breath. Truly... "No one sings like you anymore"....
Couldn’t have said it better myself. You’re absolutely right!
If there is a God, he brought Cornell to the stage. RIP brother, you will be remembered as one of the greatest frontmen in history.......

Currently quarantined in Detroit Mi, one of the biggest hot spots in the country for Covid-19 and listening to Chris is really helping me get through this. Listening to him live on my TV every night is like seeing him in concert all over again. RIP to the greatest voice in rock and roll.
Hy! Do you know where I can find that complete recital?
user name taken wtf lmao
I'm from Chicago so I know what you mean. Hang in there, I hope you and your family stay safe and healthy. We are all in this together, Take care!
Who TF cares? Seriously. Just want to vent? Talk to a psychiatrist.
For a long time I didn't know who the man was behind the songs I loved so much! Then I saw a picture of him on a friends fb with long curly hair and beautiful eyes! Why do all the good ones die young? Your voice lives on for me with my favorite ring tones like I am the Highway currently.
The world lost such a gifted human being, what a voice
There are many talented singer in the history of rock and metal....robert plant, ian gillan, axl, dave, kurt, eddie etc but for me the greatest ever are layne and chris...no one can match their voice
Wow you nailed it. Hate it when people say which one was better. Both so great and should be revered and not compared as who is better!
They may be you guys 1 and 2….but not mine. At the end of the day who cares. Racking and Stacking vocalists means very little…
Miss him so much I can barely play his music without bawling my eyes out

Yes it touches the deepest part of our heart that we often don’t want to feel. That was his gift to us to bring The old wounds and heal, finally heal!
RIP Chris, this song has gotten me through so much. I want to thank you for it, wherever you are...
The best live version of this song by far 😀
A tragic loss, a legend, one Gods superb creations
Don't forget, Cornell was originally the drummer for Soundgarden. Let that sink in... Never quit striving to be who you really are!!
I don't know how other people let you slide on this for so long bro no he was not the drummer for Soundgarden he was the lead singer for Soundgarden at least you had the band right!👍 R.I.P Chris Cornell
@@garygamble6246 He played the drums while singing during the first year of the band, until they got a drummer in 1985. You should work on your reading comprehension and fact checking skills, my man
the rhythm patterns of his compositions are typically those of a drummer
@@garygamble6246 yeah Jake is right, he played drums and sang initially when they were just a three piece. But they eventually hired a drummer so he could do only vocals. That was only a few years after the band formed in '84.
@@jakobbell3586 you need to be more patient and skip the childish cutdowns, just bc some casual fan doesn’t know CC’s history
We lost someone truly special. He captivated an entire audience so effortlessly. I will keep listening to your music to keep your memory alive.
"No sorrow or pity for leaving I feel." Chris wrote his own eulogy
He wrote what he saw the truth he saved my child
@@mr.knowitsrightright2129 He wrote this before things got out of hand. He was depressed and this was a coincidence and nothing less. You can find self death lyrics in tons of peoples songs.
@@mr.knowitsrightright2129 how did he save your child if I may ask?
This is so heart breaking.. I grew up listening to Soundgarden and Audioslave and I've been binge watching old live performances wishing I could have gotten a chance to see him live... RIP Chris 💔
Same here. Growing up him and Layne Staley were my favorites. Out of all of my favorite singers only one is alive now....doubt I'll ever get to see him live either.
Jessica Saenz. Me too
same man...spewing
Jessica Saenz agreed
Same here and I’ve watched it and like a stone and other Audioslave songs and this guy might have been the best singer/songwriter ever ......that goes to show you even some people who are a genius still have demons and every day it takes effort just to start the day you sometime feel like you are suffocating from anxiety, depression, addiction, whatever. Trust me I get the music and I have been all of thee above. We lost a great one when he passed and if there is a heaven he got his wish. RIP Mr. Cornell
The guy's voice is absolutely unique and ethereal - even haunting.
I Grew up hearing Soundgarden in 90's, then Temple of the Dog and Audioslave, this song always got me. We lost a great one.
RIP Chris.
True brother!
This is how I remember Chris in concert....he wasn't himself in the last clips. RIP CC. ....gone but shall always be loved and cherished by fans. We miss you!!!
Chris looks so good here, you see and feel His vulnerability, His sensitive side He was so Beautiful a beautiful soul!! Always loved the lyrics of this song & the meaning behind it ❤️. R.I.P.
With tears I say rest in peace..
RIP Chris!! You were not anyone's rolling wheel , you were the highway !!!!

Almost 28, found out about ur music 4-5 years ago. You are the man, top singer/artist all time. This is my favorite song, "I am the highway," gets me going every time!!
Thank you for that....
Rest In Peace
Chris Cornell 52 years old
What a Legend
There is no Audioslave or Soundgarden without Chris.
Tom Morello's solo in this song and in "Like a Stone" are my two favorite solos of his. I mean in my humble opinion, they are truly brilliant and inspired.
The solo is ok. The perfection is the song, which in a due respect to Tony, he doesn't have much to do with.

i could listen to and watch this specific performance over and over again and never tire of it, but there is only so much one can weep before the tears begin to sting. watch him do like a stone live,,,he is talking about heaven,,

First time I've checked out the live version of this song❤ I love TH-cam that rabbit hole runs deep😊
Cornell: greatest pipes of all time
Absolutely
Why pipes? i don't understand..
+Pablo Otárola O. He means his voice. As in his throat is a pipe. He must be Australian using vernacular like that :-)
+James Crawford Australian has nothing to do with pipes. That's a common reference to voice all over the world.
Um, no. There are way better singers than Cornell.
Though I never met him he was always there for me. Thank you Chris... your the best. R. I. P
You are indeed the highway, still here in the night sky and in all of the fans you touched! 🙏 thanks for the gifts brother

One of his great works next to audioslave that left us this great rock and grunge...

Thanks for trying to tell us Brother. The world will appreciate you more and more as it all unfolds. One of the few. 🙏

I was raised on Soundgarden and that amazing voice by Cornell. I was heartbroken when I heard the news man. There have been a number of unfortunate musician deaths in recent years, but this one hit me hardest. RIP Chris. You were extraordinary

Second year gone without you. Still listening to one of the best Lyricist and singer of all time. Such a tragedy 😪😪😪😪😪😪🌊🌊🌊
So sad......
It's almost like he was singing this song to the audience as a precursor to what would come.... I guess he was just tired
I always come back here, what a beautiful version is this one.
Rest In Peace Chris.
Brother we love you and your Ohana.
when I heard the sad news I came to this version of this song ..rest in peace chris Cornell .you will be missed .I really hope your soul is at peace now .
At the time of his passing Chris was easily
The greatest rock singer.
At the time?
The greatest rock singer of all time, not just at the time of his passing 🤘🏽😭
You'll not see ever again close to him. It's not just at the time he's before and forever after the best voice entered in this world luckily at the same time when we walk the earth
My favorite vocalist of all time. Please give love to his guitarists and band as well
He was a haunted rock god fighting his demons inside hell and back. His voice, him singing the lyrics were the sound of heaven.
You can literally feel this song. Such a great talent. Ended far too soon. Have mercy Lord Jesus. =(

One of my favorite songs. My friend was a great guitarist and singer. He died unexpectedly two weeks ago. We will never play this again together. RIP brother. Until we meet again.
Who was your friend?
With the lost of my father still weighing on me and struggling through detox from opiate addiction. This video brings me to tears every time I watch it - the pain in Chris's voice. The struggle to perform despite being exhausted.
RIP My friend - You've helped me and many others through some very rough times.

I’m a recovering opiate abuser because of 4 hip Replacements and have dealt with insomnia issues for the past year along with battling anxiety and depression. So I just found this song and I can so relate to this man’s lyrics because I get it all. When your in constant pain 24/7 no matter if weather it body or your brain you become exhausted with life. Depression is no joke !!!! Anyways I just felt like sharing and hope things are looking up for you ✌️

This is so sad. I'm glad that I had the opportunity to see Soundgarden live and Chris Cornell solo live. Both concerts were awesome. He's been my favourite singer for so long and it's still hard to accept that we won't be blessed with his talent anymore.
