    Also important to note, how safe are the seats. That minimalist one gives a lot of space, but looks unsafe

      Yes!!! I just got a front facing seat for my 3 year old and was going to go with a slim seat for more room (I have a Subaru WRX Hatch, do it's not a tiny car, but still) but that seat was SO unsafe looking, I just couldn't. Ended up getting a Britax, yes it's a bit larger but it looks SO much safer, not to mention more comfortable. If I had 3 small children I had to fit in the back seat, I could see why you'd use a super slim car seat but I WON'T skimp on safety when it comes to my baby!

      Although, if he gets T-boned in a 911. I am willing to bet that no car seat would be safe enough, but I agree, I would rather at least try and give my kids the best chance in a carseat that at least has met or exceeded safety tests.

    really helpful video... Even though I've no kids! I have the buckets, it was good to see how the rear fits together: it puzzles me that there appear to be no attachments for a luggage net on my car ... surely its a bad idea to have the stuff on the back seats flying about. Do Porsche do that as an option?? Also, any tips on how to get the buckets to slide a little further forward for better access?? Thanks for making these "how-to" videos!

    Hi tommy, thanks for the extremely helpful video. More of this needs to be on youtube. I quess a lot of fathers driving their dream (again). Question is there a chance you post a video how to remove the back rests? Cause I do think it will give more possibilities for the child seat to lean back a bit more than the (almost) 90 degrees angle the back rest sit now. Good job !

    • @TommyLGarage
      @TommyLGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! So back rests are easy to remove. I do the middle clip and screw between the two backrests and they slide out. I tried it and I would not recommend it. The area behind the seats is not straight and seats will not sit straight at all. You will also hit the C pillar.

      You WON'T fit a rear facing carseat in here, no way. I have a Subaru WRX hatch, and our rear facing barely fits. It's gotta be behind the passenger seat bc rarely my husband drives, and the passenger seat has to be allllll the way up for it to fit. It's NOT comfortable, I'm glad I was finally able to switch to a front facing. Lots more leg room, especially on trips!!

    Really helpful review! Love that you have a T and about the pull the trigger on one myself. Question for you - with the reduced sound deadening, how is the road noise on the T? I’ll have my 2.5 yr old in the back row (likely going for the WAYB like you recommended) during weekend joy rides and would love to get your thoughts and to be sure I’m making the right choice. unfortunately 997s don't have the clips in the seat back, just the belt and the anchor over the top. I'm curious how this sits without using the lower seat clips. Can it sit snug using the OEM rear seat belt through the Wayb? Only thing that's holding me back from getting this. Any chance you could give it a try and report back? The whole point is that it lifts your shoulders in relation to the height of where the seat belt crosses the childs shoulder, to prevent risk of decapitation in an accident... the video was still useful for me though so do appreciate it, thanks

      @@Spocksays Yes as i mentioned. Official recommendation is at least 4 years. Every seat has its weigth limits but most go up that high that they are suitable for average size 5-6 years old.
