Our great pry mix was left on an apartment porch or locked in a crate for the first 3 years of his life. His nails had grown through the pads of his paws. Unfortunately he also was hit by a car a few days after we bought him home, luckily he survived. Since then he's been on gabapentin for the nerve pain in his paws and hips. I put him on milk thistle to try to help keep his liver healthy and cranberry for his kidneys. We've had him for 3 years now, he eats only a homemade diet and treats. His blood work is perfect. I have learned so much from watching your videos. I can never thank you enough.
Thank you for caring and giving the furbaby a wonderful life that it deserves. I wish people would get in trouble for their wrongdoing towards animals and people it amazes me that they don't get on a list, not to have one or the other or both animals or kids (people).
I also have a great Pyrenees mix she eats healthy foods. She just turned 10 on Valentines Day. She is given coconut oil with msm (powder) 100% natural for her hips.
@@78JSWIFTY I wish they would too!! Most of our animals are rescues. Some from horrific backgrounds. It breaks my heart that I can't save them all, but I can save some.
Poor baby, thanks for saving him
Well that's ironic, gets out of the crate only to be hit by a car.

Thank you for always posting your videos. You help so many people and animals and you don’t do it out of greed. It is such a breath of fresh air needed so desperately thank you for all you do. You are very much appreciated.❣️🐾❣️
It"s true ..he lost his vet license helping poor people with natural remedies..that being said..he is making well over 20k a month from his channel n i for 1 do not begrudge him
This is true. I lost a Yorkie to this. She had a large cancer tumor in her liver that killed her. The vets said she had indigestion. I wish I knew you back then.❤
Alla mia avevano detto che aveva un bernoccolo invece aveva un osteosarcoma alla testa
My Yorkie would always make "Honking" noises after exerting herself. It was scary. That all stopped once she lost weight and went from 8lbs down to 6lbs.
Thank you for all your work in taking care of pets the right way.
This is so helpful I truly love your teaching about animals 😊
I am dealing with this right now! Perfect timing! Getting these items today. It all started with the cough.. vet said they could not find anything. Then I took him in for his eye, that's when they ran bloodwork and his ALT was sky high!! He is a great dog and worth saving!! I so appreciate your advice ❤️
Om-Goodness, ...was it a blood-red eye? ...a vet accused me of ''beating my dog''! ...no blood tests.
That's so horrible for the vet to say that@@dollybelfiore7628
My 12 year old Minpinzu has had tracheal collapse since a puppy. The vets all said that it is normal for the smaller breeds. He didn't start having real problems until a couple years ago. I started him on your CBD oil and it really helps him. The original reason I started him on it is because he suddenly developed anxiety all the time. He's fine now as long as he takes the CBD oil. He is healthy and activity has greatly improved since I started using your ultimate canine supplement several years! He's healthy and acts like a puppy. Thanks for all that you do for our fur babies!
Tula is the best partner! Such a good girl❤🇬🇧
This is super helpful. I’ve suspected my service dog has had this very problem since 2017 when I brought him home from the service dog school. He literally started coughing like an old man with phlegm while we were at our training. It’s persisted daily for years. I’m going to try some of the suggestions that I’m not already giving him to help his allergies - these things are all certainly not going to hurt and can only help at best. Thanks so much!
I adopted a 5 year old St Bernard.
The first 2 nights he had this terrible cough. I knew right away what it was.
Took him right to my veterinarian. Sure enough my suspensions were
Right. Heart worm ! People need a video of Different types of coughs Dog's,
Will get Depending on Condition !
A little note to add for both humans using honey, and also for dogs, is, don't add honey to HOT water, it destroys the properties of the honey beneficial to healing. Best used straight off the teaspoon, actually, not diluted at all. 😍🥰🐝🐝🐝🍯🍯🍯
Straight off the spoon is best, but if you keep the water under 98°, you should be fine.
Excellent video. Thank you Dr. Jones. Disease doesn't just happen, we do it.
I don't think we cause our dogs to have tracheal collapse which causes liver disease .
It's true, although it may not be you and me in particular. 9 times out of 10 it's the puppy mill or back yard breeders fault for producing genetically weak animals. When we rescue dogs and cats we know nothing about their health background or the parent animals that produced them. Then the heartache comes and vet bills galore. I have rescued about thirty dogs and cats in the last three decades and most of them developed heart disease and one had a collapsing trachea. One I have now is immune compromised horrifically. Thank God for Dr. Jones and his holistic approach.
I wish animals lived as long as we do…
❤️
My morkie has tracheal collapse and has been going through testing because she has elevated liver enzymes and protein in her urine. They are testing her for Cushings next but I'm going to bring this up to the vet. I feel they are starting to grasp at straws. I love her vet and don't feel he's doing anything he shouldn't, but maybe he doesn't know this correlation. She already takes milk thistle, but will add other supplements as mentioned. Thanks Dr. Jones!! God works in great ways as this was perfect timing!! 🙂
Yes my shorkie has liver disorder, Glycogen . She is on Denamarin for it.
This is really interesting to me I had a Chihuahua and right from a puppy she had this tracheal collapse. It was very bad throughout her life. She died at 11 suddenly of liver or kidney failure.
My former Norwich Terrier did this coughing was terrible I took him to the vets several times. They all missed this…I have a senior Norwich now Henry I am going to get the honey and slippery elm. Thank you
Thank you Dr. Jones for this important video. Your advice has helped all my pups. Thank God for you💙
Hey doc! I was watching your videos from 5-6 years ago about hip problems in dogs and just wanted to say I appreciate your straight to the point advice I blindly trust you the energy you put off is so positive.
I just wanted to recommend re creating some of your popular videos for the sake of the algorithm!

Thank you. I’ve been taking care of my little chihuahua with your recommendations. The vet(s) just gave her more antibiotics. Nothing to help her.
This was helpful information Doctor, thank you 😊🙏🏼❤️
Thank you doc from india ❤
Bless you, Bless you, Bless YOU. I am so sorry you were chastised for being a well meaning person and vet. I hope and pray you have come through this with more positive comments now, than all the negative nelly's before.
Thank you!!! We are watching you all the way from Latvia. My dog has exactly this problem and symptoms. The video is so helpful! Blessings to you, Dr. Jones! 🌺
Thank you for this informative content ! Been researching this topic👍🏾
Thank you. I use honey dark on Manuka to help coughs
Thank you Dr. Jones. This helps so much. My dog has all of those issues. ❤
Thank you so much for this video. I have a Chiweenie with this problem
Thank you so much!! I also wanted a home oxygen tent for my dog- after reading many comments on it how it helped their dog- they did 5-10minutes 2x daily, and said it really helped- but I can’t get a vet to prescribe it. Thanks again!
Thank you so much Dr. Jones, you are brilliant! I'm going out and get SAMe for my almost 13 yr old 6 pound sweetest Chihuahua, who has a slightly enlarged heart, cough (on Pimobenden which has helped the cough, but wish there was something better than, Pimobenden) and her last bloodwork had elevated liver enzymes. Thank you again, you're awesome! Bonnie in Florida.
dealing w this with my 13 yr old senior
one thing that help my dog is to rise her food and water containers, that help her a lot.
My vet (70 mi one way) prescribed Enalapril and it worked so good then my pharmacy in my town gave me Enalapril Maleate and now she's coughing again.
This is so timely. My pug/terrier mix liver test were way off. He has been also coughing on and off. They put him on Denamarin for a month. I have also been giving him honey, Quercetin, and a natural dog tincture with supplements you just mentioned. When I'm at the vet of course he doesn't cough. But I've been trying to video him. I will now have the vet check his tracea.
This could be so helpful for people and their dogs! I have a good friend who lost their dog several years ago, partly because of a collapsed trachea, and unfortunately she didn't have a lot of funds to take care of her but I know slippery almond honey could be very inexpensive. I wish I had known about those two things and I could have suggested them. Your knowledge is so appreciated!
Thank you for these suggestions
Out tiny 4 lb chihuahua has terrible dry cough. I’m going to try these on both my little guys. The 2nd one cough’s and chocks whenever he gets excited. .
Thanks, doc. Such precious info. I wonder what would you think of trying lecitin for the liver?
How about glucosamine and chondroitin to firm up that cartilage?
I don’t see milk thistle on your site; please recommend a brand because so many have silymarin and other ingrediants - please let me know what kind to buy. THANK YOU
Yes please Dr tell us what's best for our dogs
Silymarin is milk thistle. It's the species name.

My 13 year old purebred Shih Tzu has a collapsing trachea and has severe cirrhosis of the liver, as seen on and diagnosed via ultrasound. Merlin sees a Holistic Veterinarian who placed him on a Milk Thistle tincture and powder supplement to help with his liver disease because he had stopped eating. He coughs most nights though.. thankfully his liver enzymes have been doing much better. Thank you for the insightful video!! I’ll get an air purifier, Merl has a harness and never wears a collar, we are in the process of losing weight too. Dr. Jones, you’re the best!!!
CBD offers wonderful results for this with my aged Aussie. Given daily, the symptoms are thoroughly relieved and energy levels are not impacted...we just ran three miles. CBD = Yay!.
Nice 😊
@VeterinarySecrets Hi there. Have a question, is it OK to give a dog NAC? If yes how much and I'm sure weight is a factor. Let me know TY 😊
Dr Jones is this similar to "labrador larynx' and would the treatment with supplements be the same? If not could you please do one on that pls? Thanks Kerry
Aswell Nac but I just read that Win can also cause liver damage...Thank you for the information.Regards to milkthistle please let the audience know that it is much better to give the daily dose divided into twice or thrice a day since the body may absorb it much efficiently...
We have a min Chihuahua have a cleff pallet he had a bad cough for about a month
Hi, love your channel, always great info. can you do a video about why a young male manx-siamese kitten (9months) otherwise very active and healthy who eats high-end food might have a UTI? We noticed bleeding from the urethra when he wasn't even in the litter box. We don't know if he had been bleeding before because the robot litter box removes the waste.
Also wondering if you have a video on the best age to neuter, or whether or not to neuter dogs and cats. My old pup (16) got prostatitis and almost died so maybe at a certain age it's healthier for them to have them removed?
Is ziwi peak venison ok for diabetic cat. There wet food?
Om-Goodness!... Our dog started honking last summer when we 'briefly' ran the a/c ...I found that when I gently massage his salivary glands, (my thumbs positioned upon his 3rd eye)...it quickly helps to relieve my dog's intermittent cough. Five years ago, the vet warned that he'd probably have issues w/ a collapsed trachea as he aged. He's 5 now.
Just 3 days ago... A fluid-like bulge emerged on his inner right knee. I thought it was a new cleanser (I'd used it the day prior)... He has allergies..so I'd just trimmed & bathed him. I'm positive was NOT there one day...and suddenly there the next. I tried amoxicillin (4UTI) & Benadryl... But, rather than subsiding it seems it may 'possibly' be spreading. Could this be Liver Disease? He's been eating IAMS & drinking filtered water for 3 years now ...ever since our cat & dog died suddenly of oral cancer. I'm sure I have curcumin... and can purchase the others. Although I have reservations about forking loads of cash over to someone who only wants to make him ''comfortable''. I have pretty limited funds... Of course, they can't give me a ballpark estimate me how expensive tests will run until they see him.
I'm figuring... it's the only way to find out though... Before I purchase the proper herbals! 🤔 THAN'X DOC! ...I feel much better now! ... lol 👏👍👍

can anyone give me any advice on holistic wormer and flea treatment for my Akita please?
Dr Jones has mentioned Diatomatious earth powder. Dry to be sprinkled on fur and rubbed in and also made into paste and given by mouth. Get his book like he says. Many tips in there.
Hello Dr. My cat has calicivirus. Is ivermectin can help???
Our Cavalier has had occasional windpipe attacks since he was a puppy. I can shorten them by picking him up, gently rubbing his throat and gently distracting him. The struggle to breathe around the contractions really does scare him, and that seems to prolong the attack. Reassuring him seems to shorten the episode. FWIW.
Are xrays enough for detecting lung tumor/cancer?
Would Milk thistle help a dog with a liver shunt?
Is there a max amount for these supplements? I have a dog that's on thyroid meds and weights 122 lbs!
My dog food up with mucus blocking breathing what is this you think?
I have never used a collar on any dog I’ve ever had. They always wear a harness.
Thank you for this. My dog, 13 yo Yorkie-Pom started this tracheal collape cough ( and in extreme heat and/or anxiety same) goose honk. First for her: drench her in cool water and stick her in front of a cool AC. After expensive testing, I deducted tracheal collapse due to Yorkie's leg joint cartilage failure after any trauma. Don't know, but assumed there might be cartilage involved in the patency of the trachea. Will order the Curcumin capsules , because she will not touch the curcumin in any other form. Doctor...how do I find your video on cats with liver disease? From about 8 years ago. I found one, on how to treat with natural products, but you suggest to watch the other first. I'll keep looking though. Thank you so much for all of your help. ❤. Sometimes I don't feel like a very good pet parent.
Edit:
I may have found it. Thank you. I want to thank you..My cancer may have come back, so i am looking at some medical expenses even with insurance, but i haven't told my family yet. Not until i see what is going on. But, i wont be able to help my kitty. It cant be a coin toss.. but honestly, id rather help my little buddy. Hes about 8 years old. He was found at a park about at 4-5 weeks of age. Hes always had some health issues, but ..well...
Thank you Doctor. I wish i could trust all veterinarians. Sadly, i think they are educated wrong. Even the receptionists are..well i know more i believe. I was told once that i shouldn't own a pet, if i had to take it to a low cost place for neuter/spay and shots. So apparently only the rich should have pets? I dont buy pets..i wait to give them a home.
Youre the best. ❤❤

thank you so much for this video. my dog suffers from trachea collapse (more specifically bronchial collapse). is there any other supplement that I can replace the slippery elm with? slippery elm supplement is forbidden in Korea :(
What, why?? 😮😢
Could you please do a vid on what to do if your dog gets into poison. Our friend's dog got into some poison on the beach in the Bahamas ..not many vets here. She treated it, I think with hydrogen peroxide and charcoal.? I am always worried about my dog because he eats just about anything and everything. Would greatly appreciate detailed directions thank you
What about for cats? Same treatment?

WHERE CAN I GET THE QUANTIMINE...... OR WHATEVER ITS CALLED
Quercetin or Curcumin can be purchased from the link on this website or Swanson Vitamins.
From iHerb
Hi,
I want to order CBD oil.
(Dr. Jones' Ultimate CBD Formula for Dogs and Cats).
Is it in stock and are there deliveries to Israel?

Can you use a slippery elm tincture and give it directly in their mouth? My dog will not drink honey water
My 13yo jackrussell chihuahua mix has tracheal collapse and heart murmur 4/6. Hes been on vetmedin for 10 months and he coughs more with this med…
But lately hes been coughing at night.
He is now on antitussives and it does nothing for him. I think it made it worse since he coughs ALL night now.
He takes gabapentin at night when the coughing is too much and it works for couple hours.
Could the antitussive made the condition worse? X rays showed that his heart was not the cause of the coughing and most likely was the collapsed trachea. But it got worse so fast i wonder if it could be related to the collapsed trachea only?
I tried slippery elm and curcumin and honey… honestly I wonder if he will make it to his vet appointment next week.
Could you talk about how antitussives work and maybe gabapentin also?
Thank you for your content it helps a lot 😊
How do you spell the steroid that you mentioned.. windsdrawl?
Winstrol or the drug name is Stanozolol
My grand dog he chokes when he drinks water and when he gets excited, I wonder if this could be what’s going on he’s about to be 15. He’s in great shape can still run plays with toys but he’s choking. Please help🙏🏽
Your dog could potentially have a enlarged heart. This will make them cough. My morkie did the same thing, eventually she would faint, she was 12 when this started. Had to euthanized her because there is no cure for am enlarged heart. Best to get a chest xray to actually diagnosis.
My dogs coughing and I tried that with his trachea several times it does not initiate a cough, so what else could it be? It’s not kennel cough maybe it’s his heart.
My sisters pug Brucy has problem with breathing and coughing now at 10 years old. At night he wakes up as if he cant get Air and needs to cough out mucus and then licks his nose and the “air” and then during the day it’s as if he’s better again and then the following in night the same and then other nights he just sleeps peacefully.
I’ve tried honey, lemon, little licorice root, b12, goldenseal and nothing has really helped..
He’s been to the vet twice and the vet keeps diagnosing him with different viral coughs and give him meds that don’t work (San Antonio Texas Area). X-ray didn’t show anything. He for sure has tracheal collapse but this sounds worse than that at night, so I wonder what else it could be or we can do?
QUESTION ?????!
Have you tried injecting either Ivermectin or Fenbendazole right into a tumour ?????
Or just researching it ????

My standard had a dry cough. Was not overweight. Twice a year I mentioned it to my vet and was told tracheal collapse. Needed a procedure. Informed that new vet to be aware. New vet and anesthesia said that the trachea was fine. Continued occasional cough. Later the cough became productive light brown. Guess what. This happened to our Golden when she went to the vet for surgery to remove a growth on her lip that kept bleeding. Lucy was 12 and had her all the tests for pre surgery. We were told she was good but they wanted another opinion for her heart which we went along with. They said everything was okay. Day of surgery we received an urgent call from vet (different vet) to inform us this happened and we needed to come right away. Unfortunately we had to euthanize her as there was nothing they could do and she was in distress. Vet informed us she was surprised we went through with the surgery as it showed up on her ultrasound pre check up with no symptoms. I wish I had known about it previously and I certainly wouldn’t have put her through this. We were heartbroken she had to go through this.
When you say “this” happened what is “this!”
I usually double or triple the amount of honey, I feel like you are WAY under dosing.
