  • Smugglers left the Patel family to cross the Canada-U.S. border on foot during a snowstorm in 2022. The family of four didn’t survive. Indian police say they know who planned the fatal border crossing. The Fifth Estate’s Steven D’Souza followed their trail from Gujarat, India, to a suburb in Canada.

The dream is not gone at all. The fact that families risk their lives just for the chance to live here is proof that that dream is still alive. Remember to be grateful for where you live and have compassion for those who are not as lucky as we are.

If a family can gather 100,000 CAD to hire someone to illegally smuggle their family member from India to the US, why not stay in India? If you convert the CAD to Rupees, you have slightly over 6,180,000. Doesn't that make an India national a multi-millionaire? Maybe money doesn't work that way in India? Make it make sense.

Why has accountability seemed to have transitioned to everybody else? I do not know the back story to this however, why did this family not remain at their home and travel in summer? With technology, there is no excuse as to watch weather etc before travelling. Common sense is to not travel thru Canada during winter.

With land border crossings being overrun with literally thousands of illegal immigrants daily, the US is at crisis - we cannot afford to support these people. We have this AHAR report (from HUD) revealed that 653,104 people nationwide were homeless, defined by the agency as lacking a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. That number reflects an increase of 70,642 people over 2022 - a 12 percent jump in one year.

Diplomatic relations between India and Canada have broken down. Canada has openly supported separatist Sikh. India has been accused by Canada govt of covert assassination.

  • @exwyzee

Hes right. People in other countries see new cars etc even on tv and internet and assume everyone here lives that way and some have the thinking its all just here for the taking. I don't think most of them comprehend what theyre even doing or anything, theyre just going on some assumption or word of mouth. People are walking in yet my best friend living in England has to go through all kinds of b.s. just to visit me on a visitor visa. Its not fair, but unless he wants to sneak over the border he has to follow the law.Just fyi ... you are not entitled to be here and american owes you nothing! If you can't respect our laws to get here you won't follow them when you are.
