The irony of the Netflix movie made to parody the production of Jurassic World Dominion is that that movie turned out to be an unfunny and lame comedy to be even worse than Dominion. If this new film turns out to be a spiritual adaptation of JP: Trespasser as well as a genuine attempt to learn from past mistakes, then they have a chance of getting ahead of their other blockbuster franchise rivals at Warner and Disney.

Again, it was grounded in reality but with one huge difference. With the Jurassic World movies (and Camp Cretaceous), all of that went out the window, leaning fully into the world of action movie cliches and tropes, heaps of futuristic technology differentiating it from the real world, flanderized villains, super hero main characters, etc. All of that is fine to a degree, but it's made people have a revisionist view of the whole franchise. I'm honestly excited that David Koepp is back after all this time and I am looking forward to what he does with this movie. Maybe he will introduce concepts that he wanted to try on the older movies into this one and just maybe we will go back to Sorna, and if not Sorna then a new island.
One could argue that it coming this quickly tells me that they're confident with this film and want to get it made as soon as possible. Either way, I'm cautiously excited, especially because Gareth Edwards, one of my favourite modern directors, is directing this and David Koepp wrote it.
As fas as we know Scarlett Johansson wanted to be part of the film. So, she is an A-List artist right now and she probably read the script and loved it. She would not risk her reputation in a bad movie. Dominion received bad critics and even so she wanted to be in this film. I think it will be good.
It might be an island like yaz was living on in Chaos Theory. Where they think they're safe from dinos but somehow dinos get on the island and then everyone is stranded there.

My theory is that the group will be a gang of hunters that goes to Sorna as a perfect place to poach dinosaurs away from the DPW, and they find some ingen secret something while they're there.
Cautiously optimistic is exactly right. I don't want to be hurt again, but honestly hearing you point out that the company itself is taking the step back to think (rather than do what Disney did) and to work to get Koepp and Johansson onboard is massive. Koepp probably named his price and still got the job, which is awesome. I mean I used to be terrified of the original trilogy as a kid and it wasn't until the first Jurassic world came out I gave them another shot and fell in love with them after that.
plus godzilla has plenty of jurassic park references so its easy to know what gareth's style of filmaking is and its a very good choice on amblin's end
Shadows did a really good video recently talking about JP Europe and how the islands mentioned could be the Azores Islands, off the coast of West Africa and Europe, and quite possibly tie into camp Cretaceous.
When the dinosaurs started to become global I was half expecting to see cities and towns surrounded by walls (like Attack on Titan, World War Z or Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress), with armoured trains, trucks and tunnels connecting each settlement. It could have been a futuristic rendition of Terra Nova, without the weird time travel gimmick.
Well, I doubt the dinosaurs would ever become a big enough threat to alter humanity's trajectory like that. Even if they're allowed to form stable populations, it wouldn't be hard to kill any dinosaur that finds its way into urban areas. Also, nice to see someone else remembers Terra Nova. I wish we got more shows like that.
I love the first trilogy (mostly JP1 and TLW), the first Jurassic Park is my favorite movie of all time and i really like the book too, the Jurassic World trilogy i have mixed feelings... hoping this new movie is gonna be good
I’ll be the first to say it. I still consider Jurassic Park and The Lost World to be apart of the golden era of the JP series. And I’ll say I think I might like The Lost World more than JP.
Jurassic park is definitely the best. I loved lost world because it felt like we were beyond the fences of Jurassic park. Seeing the dinosaurs roaming freely. Plus the merchandise, commercials, promotions. Lost world is more nostalgic.
@@Hakuofthewatertribe Yes, I find it more nostalgic. Even some time after it came out on VHS I remember people still hyping it up and in my old class people talked about how awesome the movie was, I even still remember they used marathon JP and TLW back to back for hours. There was once a time when they did air TLW it came with the deleted scenes too. I’m a way they did air an extended version.
I really do believe we're only going to be on an island for a small portion of the movie. It'll be an extended setpiece, a flashback sequence or the location of some kind of macguffin.
I’m just so happy David Koepp has come back! I just also hope they don’t taint the franchise with the rushed production! Hopefully we will be pleasantly surprised!
I actually like that they’re keeping this hidden. Although it would be nice if they revealed a little more so that we would know what to expect. Just in my opinion.
I really like the lost world it has more adventure and a sense of danger, uncertainty, and urgency cause theyre on a island where nothing is caged in and they have their natural tendencies since they live in the wild
I expect it to get pushed back to the holidays. After Thanksgiving/before Christmas time frame. If they really DO make July, I have low expectations. It'll be just too rushed. Holidays will still be rushed, but they would have the chance to still make it good
I like the first half of fallen kingdom where their on the island. Isn't the new movie supposed to be a soft reboot. So maybe it takes place between lost world and 3. Or it takes places after lost world and reboots the films from there
I’m still cautiously optimistic & concerned . But with Scarlett s excitement, Gareth and David Koepp involved , it’s honestly helping easing some of the tension
I am still pretty skeptical. With the recent content giving to us Dominion, Camp Cretaceous, and Chaos Theory all in which in my opinion were pretty awful, I can’t say that I am excited for up coming content especially this film. But who knows it could be pretty good, but it doesn’t seem likely to me, I think they prefer the more marvel like and comedic, child friendly stories.
My opinion is that what I'm hoping for Gareth Edward will include a little bit of sequels to the first original jurassic park. You know, go back to the island and see some kind of abandoned theme park. And even through, dinosaurs still around, which may be so quiet. So, if not. Then, they could do a little bit of different sequels to dominion. So, I hope it not that crap. Whoever knows, we'll see to go.
I actually do like The Lost World more than JP, but I really do hope that this does turns out to be really good and that the dinosaurs actually look and feel like animals instead of monsters or with human like emotions.
Theory time The island is the manta corp island and we will get live action versions of Ben,Brooklyn,Darius,Kenji,Sammy and Yaz even though Ramsay looks like the adult version of Darius from chaos theory
It sounds like this Jurassic movie 🎥 has all the right ingredients to be a spectacular movie. I can't wait to see what dinosaurs 🦖🦕 will be in this one
I’ve enjoyed every Jurassic film regardless, but I’m seeing and hearing good signs of this next one, hoping the streak continues for me. My understanding was that this next one isn’t a sequel to Dominion, but a midquel, set possibly before Jurassic World.
@5:29 there’s another simpler reason they’d be going to an island. Maybe the main cast in the new film is trying to scope for a secluded island to relocate the dinosaurs because even though end of dominion was “we have to coexist depend on each other” there is no have to I’d argue we still have more deaths with dinosaurs living among us than secluding them on an island
I'm happy for Scarlett Johansson getting a chance to star in one of these movies, especially after hearing the original Jurassic Park inspired her to get into the business.
Rushing a movie into production and wanting it to be really good are usually direct conflicts. Still, to paraphrase Michael Scott, I am ready to get hurt again.
It would be cool to see better effects, also... The animatronics from Dominion looked so stiff... Maybe bring back the Legacy Effects team that worked at the Stan Winston Studio...
I watch Jurassic World recently like a month ago and it’s still really good (a lot better than Dominion’s writing and story), hell the ending of Jurassic World still makes me cry because of beautiful it is from the music, editing, cinematography, pacing, and sound design. As for Jurassic World 4, I’m very glad Scarlet Johansson really likes the script from David Koepp and she’s a big Jurassic fan. It’s interesting that we haven’t heard anything from Gareth Edward about working on the film nor the script, hopefully we will got some news or information about that in the future.
Klayton, did you not enjoy Jurassic World? I get the complaints against its sequels but I thought it was an excellent addition to the franchise and my favorite sequel.
My theory is they've tactically said 'island' and it could mean an island holiday resort during an outbreak like Hanoi in Dead Island - cut off from mainland emergency responses, much like Jaws, the tourism would suffer is stories of Mosasaurs spotted on windsurfing trips got out. Eventually it's too late and one of these island resorts has attracted enough species that it becomes a desperate escape as infrastructure fails, much like the first movie, going back to it's 'suspenseful horror' roots.
I wonder what they'll call it if it is a start of a new trilogy. As Jurassic park was three movies and Jurassic world is three movies I wonder what they'll call it
They should do what the latest Alien movie is doing and set a movie inbetween Jurassic Park and The Lost World and just have a random group of people stumbling onto the first island.
Fallen kingdom was good but honestly how I wish they could just delete the last two movies from canon an just make Two really REALLY scary Jurassic movies with the first being like hunters on the island fight for their lives an then kids sneaking on to the island an it ends up getting bad An then end Jurassic altogether that’s what we need 2 movies A possible an actually, I think really good idea for a third would be a prequel of sorts set on the second island that shows the baby’s being released an Dino’s attacking the workers who live there
I feel like it's almost just another cash grab to sell merch. I do always like seeing dinos but perhaps they should've let the franchise rest for awhile. Will I still watch it though? Yes.
I have faith in the script, but am I the only one concerned that they're just now starting filming and it'll be in theaters in barely a year?? Doesn't leave much time for editing and reshoots, etc...
i dont care how it happens or what happens to it, but if we get to see the Spino in JW4 I will be content. Camp Cretaceous wasn't enough to satiate my nostalgia
If there's one thing I know about Gareth Edwards, it's that he can direct scale. Personally I hope this film leans a bit closer to his Godzilla film in terms of its deployment of the dinosaurs. I've always been of the opinion that a "less is more argument" is perfectly valid when it comes to Jurassic Park and if Kett can get the character relationships right no-one will notice that theres only ~15 minutes of dinosaurs. Actually, taking from another Godzilla film, of all things, I think that Godzilla: Minus One might be a good thing to look at, where human characters are at the heart of the film and, because you are invested in them, you are more invested in the devestation of the monster.
I'm hoping that we finally get a dark compy scene kinda like the second book (I think, might be wrong). Given that we know the raptors from Sorna made it to the mainland, I kinda want something involving Blue being the odd ball in a random pack somewhere. Lowkey hoping that we get some swamp action too.
We already have the scrip: POTENTIAL SPOILERS: (From X - Brycenator) The plot of Jurassic World 4 revolves around a rescue mission between a group of soldiers (Scarlett And Bailey) attempting to locate a group of tourists who got trapped on the island near Suriname after their tour went wrong. • The dino tour is similar to JP3 as it is illegal and secret. You have to register at a sketchy bar. A criminal syndicate organizes the tours which they use to help launder money and recycle it into the black market. • The plot is about an investigation of the crime syndicate and the island after some tourists go missing from their tour along with their helicopter. However the twist is that they find all of the tourists are already dead. • Chaos ensues and a lot of the soldiers die ala The Suicide Squad (2021) as they attempt to escape from the island.
I liked JW 1 quite a bit. JW 2 just had the weird 'Command & Conquer' expositional news reports and the 'tears' scene, but I actually loved it. Dominion just had such rough dialogue, and I really didn't want a snow setting in the first third of my Jurassic fix. Guess we'll see what happens!
Movies used to be able to be filmed, finalized and then released in less than a year. I’m not sure how it got to be that it would take over a year or more. The original was filmed in 4 months and then 6 months in post production. The lost world 4 months and 5 months respectively. They have plenty of time for this movie.
I’d say “cautiously optimistic” is the tone of this fanbase at the moment.

I love the first trilogy (mostly JP1 and TLW), the first Jurassic Park is my favorite movie of all time and i really like the book too, the Jurassic World trilogy i have mixed feelings... hoping this new movie is gonna be good
Smaller scale movie set in the past on one of the Islands would be great
I’ll be the first to say it. I still consider Jurassic Park and The Lost World to be apart of the golden era of the JP series. And I’ll say I think I might like The Lost World more than JP.
JP 🦕 and Lost world 🦖🦖 is best ❤❤❤
First 2 are the best by far. Here's to hoping 7 will be darker, and more of a thriller
Don't all actors say they're fans of a franchise they sign up for
Sad but true
Please be amazing. Some movies can be pleasantly surprising.
This movie is making me very curious but I’m gonna trust Gareth Edwards and David Koepp.
What if they show JP:Europe as the Island or JP:Japan.😮
Always wanted an offical second timeline where it all went right. Jurassic park europe, dubai, italy, Zimbabwe/botswana etc
Theory time
The island is the manta corp island and we will get live action versions of Ben,Brooklyn,Darius,Kenji,Sammy and Yaz even though Ramsay looks like the adult version of Darius from chaos theory
Since it’s coming out in July instead of June so we’re going to be getting 2 months of Jurassic instead of 1 if you’re getting my point klayton?
It sounds like this Jurassic movie 🎥 has all the right ingredients to be a spectacular movie. I can't wait to see what dinosaurs 🦖🦕 will be in this one
I’ve enjoyed every Jurassic film regardless, but I’m seeing and hearing good signs of this next one, hoping the streak continues for me.
My understanding was that this next one isn’t a sequel to Dominion, but a midquel, set possibly before Jurassic World.
I'm guessing the official title will be revealed very soon.
or a film delay jumpscare
Yeah what were they meant to say? "Yeah, the script isn't that great, but let's see"
:p
NGL i loved all the world films but a more older style would be really cool
It would be cool to see better effects, also... The animatronics from Dominion looked so stiff... Maybe bring back the Legacy Effects team that worked at the Stan Winston Studio...
I don't know what's gonna happen, but I only know is that it's going to be pretty good either way.
How dare you slight the gymnastics scene lol
I watch Jurassic World recently like a month ago and it’s still really good (a lot better than Dominion’s writing and story), hell the ending of Jurassic World still makes me cry because of beautiful it is from the music, editing, cinematography, pacing, and sound design. As for Jurassic World 4, I’m very glad Scarlet Johansson really likes the script from David Koepp and she’s a big Jurassic fan. It’s interesting that we haven’t heard anything from Gareth Edward about working on the film nor the script, hopefully we will got some news or information about that in the future.
I wish we have Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver for the future.
@@kavehthephantomboy Yeah same, they shouldn’t be more involved with the Jurassic World trilogy.
Klayton, did you not enjoy Jurassic World? I get the complaints against its sequels but I thought it was an excellent addition to the franchise and my favorite sequel.
I actually loved it. Saw it 5 times in the theaters. I just got really bummed out after Dominion
All I want is the movie to be dark like the first two. Have the dinos be scary
I've already seen jurassic park 4 before and it was a fan made movie i found and sadly it gotten tooken down
I think it´s gonna be Jurassic Park Europe. I´m serious.
the gymnastics scene is great!. second to "Alan!"
😂
I wonder what they'll call it if it is a start of a new trilogy. As Jurassic park was three movies and Jurassic world is three movies I wonder what they'll call it
If the script is good, then I need to see a sneak peak at it first 😅
They should do what the latest Alien movie is doing and set a movie inbetween Jurassic Park and The Lost World and just have a random group of people stumbling onto the first island.
I looove the gymnastics scene ! It was so awesome of Kelly saving her dad like that! 👊🏽
Fallen kingdom was good but honestly how I wish they could just delete the last two movies from canon an just make Two really REALLY scary Jurassic movies with the first being like hunters on the island fight for their lives an then kids sneaking on to the island an it ends up getting bad
An then end Jurassic altogether that’s what we need 2 movies
A possible an actually, I think really good idea for a third would be a prequel of sorts set on the second island that shows the baby’s being released an Dino’s attacking the workers who live there
I hope Titanoboa, Carcharodontosaurus, Liopleurodon, Utahraptor and another new dinosaurs species
Interesting choices!
with gareth Edwards, I'm pretty sure it'll atleast look amazing xD
I feel like it's almost just another cash grab to sell merch. I do always like seeing dinos but perhaps they should've let the franchise rest for awhile. Will I still watch it though? Yes.
I have faith in the script, but am I the only one concerned that they're just now starting filming and it'll be in theaters in barely a year??
Doesn't leave much time for editing and reshoots, etc...
This is incredible and interesting
i dont care how it happens or what happens to it, but if we get to see the Spino in JW4 I will be content. Camp Cretaceous wasn't enough to satiate my nostalgia
Under 1 hour gang
I would generally put money on it the film gets pushed back a year.
Please Universal don't destroy Jurassic Park like Disney has Star Wars. I need at least one movie franchise from my childhood to survive.
huh i did not know scarlett was a jurassic park fan
I'm hoping that we finally get a dark compy scene kinda like the second book (I think, might be wrong). Given that we know the raptors from Sorna made it to the mainland, I kinda want something involving Blue being the odd ball in a random pack somewhere. Lowkey hoping that we get some swamp action too.
We already have the scrip:
POTENTIAL SPOILERS: (From X - Brycenator)
The plot of Jurassic World 4 revolves around a rescue mission between a group of soldiers (Scarlett And Bailey) attempting to locate a group of tourists who got trapped on the island near Suriname after their tour went wrong.
•
The dino tour is similar to JP3 as it is illegal and secret. You have to register at a sketchy bar. A criminal syndicate organizes the tours which they use to help launder money and recycle it into the black market.
•
The plot is about an investigation of the crime syndicate and the island after some tourists go missing from their tour along with their helicopter. However the twist is that they find all of the tourists are already dead.
•
Chaos ensues and a lot of the soldiers die ala The Suicide Squad (2021) as they attempt to escape from the island.
Hey Klayton, what is your favorite prehistoric mammal?
Smilodon
And which one is your least favorite?
Also, have you seen any of the Ice Age movies?
Ffs when u said jw is from 2015, im like jezus almost ten years later. Time flies sooo fast
