*DONT GO INTO THE LONG GRASS*
Goes into the long grass
Says it as hes running through the long grass.
No joke, that scene gave my older brother a phobia of tall grass, being only 4 when it came out.
Life uh...finds a way
What if you find a shiny?
Just trying to catch them all
In the long grass scene, the main characters didn't necessarily have plot armor. As mentioned in Fallen Kingdom, a raptor can smell a person from miles away. Meaning they were aware of the Hunters before they even reached the Long Grass. But for the main characters, running into that waterfall may have saved their lives. It essentially gave them a quick bath and helped hide their natural scent that the raptors would've normally picked up. But as for the other hunters, they still had their same odor as normal and thus became the prime targets for the Raptors.
The raptors could've been full as well, they got quite a few bodies
@@isdrakon9802 My thoughts exactly
The lost world raptors aren’t genetically congruent to blue
@@sarvandruvgaming9707 true but its a raptor, it has a fluted nose which means it can smell things from insanely far away
Ahh so plot armor
Regarding the plot hole severed arm deaths...having read the original book, I assumed that you'd find out later that there was a raptor that snuck on board and was wreaking havoc when I first saw it. Was pretty disappointed that it was never resolved.
The Rex was the one that killed the crew on the boat. Y'know the cage it's held in when Ian and the gang are flying in a helicopter off of Isla Sorna. The ingen guys had it on some drugs that put it into a coma so they instead injected some other drug (I don't care about the names of these) that put it into a very hyper state. So whenever it was put onto the boke it broke out of its cage, massacred the crew and one final crew member managed to close the rex into its holding area while likely dying
this is as much of a simplified explanation I could give so sorry if you don't understand
@@Eggnogparade it was actually supposed to be from a scene where raptors snuck on the
Boat. But they decided not to use it last minute.
I do like ur explanation based on what was left in the movie tho.

Screenwriter Dave Koepp, aka "Unlucky Bastard", and his demise is the most powerful moment of this movie for me. It's a chilling set-up; the T-Rex hunting in the middle of the city, and he manages to separate one human from the throng. The T-Rex goes in for the kill, and the scene is so visceral and powerful.
Eddie's death was legit the saddest one.
Man died saving 3 other people. He was a real stand up guy!
In the book he just fell to his death
Definitely a man who showed how brave he was Wish he didn’t Die 😭😭
Also the coolest kill in the movies
@abc.animal514 Not really? Zara got swallowed whole. Suffocation+digestion isn't a nice way to go, but that happens offscreen. Eddie straight up got ripped in half in full view.
The script called for a scene where the velociraptors got on board the Venture as it was about to set sail. As chaos ensued, the T. rex also got loose, and killed everything else aboard. This explains why many of the crew members are dead in places the T. rex cannot reach. The scene was never filmed.
I've read the scripts for the movie. The raptor scene is just a rumor.
It'd make more sense if it was a pack of compies that killed the crew
@@docwulff907 I don't think they could take out a whole crew. They generally go after weak prey. In this case a little girl and a drunk guy that just fell down a hill.
@@MichaelLayneWeston eh maybe, though who knows. The crew might've hit the good stuff😛
Maybe the crew members got drunk and decided to start hitting each other upside the head with broken bottles 😀
You never knowwwwww
Love the sick sense of humour JP kills have always had, like this one's romantic shared meal between Mr and Mrs Rex and the original's blind Nedry headbutting the car door frame before realising he's not alone in the jeep, "Oh, Mr. Arnold...*gasp!*", and of course the legendary "lawyer-off-the-toilet" meal...
7:52 But for real though, that scene with the T. Rex roar is still my favorite scene from TLW:JP. The roar, which you can definitely feel was filled with anger from the mother / father rex, the complete silence shortly after and the panicked / startled looks from the characters are all just so delightful to me.
About the plot hole of that ship: in the original script for this scene, we were supposed to see that were some Raptors that snuck in the Ship. They would have killed the crew members, jumped off (when realized that the ship was going to crash) and swam to the mainland. But I need to agree, this scene only makes sense when you know the original script.
Yeah that's true.
Couldn't they have just had the raptors kill the crew and die in the crash? Then keep everything else with the T-Rex and stuff?
No, that wasn’t the raptors. It was just a fan theory. In the deleted scene, the Buck is the one who killed the crew and lured inside the cargo hold.
@Tezla Kavach I wasn't talking to you.
There was a scene i remember being scrapped in the bonus features on the VHS, where its pterodons that attack the ship and kill the crew, but the idea was scrapped.

I've seen the boat massacre pretty well explained before. As mentioned in the film the rex was given drugs to counteract the large dose of tranqs he got hit with, but the crew wasn't sure how much to give him and overdid it. This resulted in the rex waking up and breaking free of it's restraints, and now pumped up on adrenaline from the drugs, began killing / injuring the deck crew. The rex then targeted the people manning the bridge, because unfortunately this ships design (which the camera angle fails to show) has the its bridge cabin being open air, missing the rear wall (which faces the deck directly where the rex was at). This is why the hand of the ships pilot was left on the wheel as the rex grabbed him. It's then theorized that the rex followed surviving crew members down into the cargo hold, and a wounded but alive crewmember still on deck hit the close button before succumbing to his injuries.
Well said! Also if you watch Klayton Fioriti's video on this subject, he shows a later leaked concept art of the SS Venture that shows a massive hole in the ship's bridge.
Hence confirming what you said, because the last we saw the Rex, it was fully restrained. But when the dose given to counteract the sedative was too great, it broke free and killed everyone.
And the theory is one person led it down into the cargo hold or fled there thinking it would be safer, and the remaining guy closed it inside before dying of his wounds.
It's not a plot hole, just kinda poorly executed since they had to abandon the wide panning shots which would expose the true carnage of a drug enraged Bull T-Rex attacking a ship full of people with nowhere to run.
Which would equal an R rating and the loss of all those kids and family viewers lol
Yeah that makes the most ammount of sense
Or just a deleted scene of raptors that snuck on the ship
i have full respect for Sam Neil for turning this movie down because he felt that the script needed more work done.
And then all that respect is lost when he signed up for #3, an even worse script lol.

Originally the plot included both a T-Rex and a velociraptor on the ship. The raptor escaped and ran amok killing the humans in the little hard-to-reach places before she herself was eaten by the T-rex. Her action scenes were cut but her kills were still left in the movie... thus the severed hand on the steering wheel and holding the cargo release button. Unfortunately, it does render it a plot hole, since a simple line of dialogue would've easily fixed it.
"We brought a raptor and the rex!" "There's a raptor too?" "No, we found its remains in the cargo hold!"
You really know your stuff kid

James is the kind of guy that wouldn’t care if you thought his least favorite movie was really hood, he would just love to talk about movies
This is my favorite film out of the franchise.
I'm mostly unsure why but I feel like it's because it takes "park gone wrong" and turns it into "dangerous forest of death", and also a Trex rampaging through a city is pretty cool too.
I’ve never understood the hate this movie gets. I like it almost as much as the first movie.
The Lost World is my favorite, the the First one is Very Close behind Lost World.
I think it was “bad” because it kinda didn’t make sense to the first one but yeah still good
I think from a technical standpoint the film is on par with the original. The effects look great, Spielberg's direction is still awesome, the cinematography is actually better in my opinion than the first film. But the areas it really loses people with are the story and characters. Particularly Vince Vaughn and Julianne Moore's characters, they really annoy alot of people and also I guess there's a bit too much repeat for some people. Like there's the "Ooh Ah" Moment with the stegosaurus, the T Rex in the rain scene, and the raptor climax. Not saying the film is bad by any means but just offering my perspective on what some people may be thinking. It's my 2nd favorite in the series behind the first film.
@@Mudimanz The first one also had pretty big plot holes like why did they leave the park on a skeleton crew of just a handful of employees to manage the beastly animals and all of this while they had a sort of 'inspection' to assure the shareholders that it was safe... Makes no sense what so ever and it bugged the hell out of me but the dead crew on a ship plot hole did bug me more lol I just put it down to an escaped velocirapor that manage to sneak on board but thats just how I filled the gap in.
I personally preferred The Lost World over JP but the are both still amazing in my eyes and the reason I preferred the second, the added people that even though were mostly filler it made it more believable than the 10 or so that were in the entirety of the park during the first clusterfuck.
The book is an interesting read, not as good as the movie but a lot more people die and its not as empty as it is in the movie. It also has a character I wish they showed more of in the movie which is Dr Henry Wu.

It took me three years to notice that James called the Buck Rex the female during the camp scene. It was the Buck who stuck his face in the tent and was the first on the scene. Mama was the one who came in second. The Buck is green with stripes, the Doe is brown. c:
The T-Rex obviously disguised itself as a sailor, and ate everyone, closed the doors and, um ate the guy shutting the flooring while driving inside...yes.
Actually the T-Rex killed the crew, he destroyed the ground on the cabin because of this we only see their remains such as a hand. I think this is better explained in the book.

If I remember, in one of the books they suggested that the crew of the ship were killed by raptors that ended up stowing away on the ship when it was leaving. After that, they jumped off to swim to another island when they got close enough, then passed because of the whole lycin deficiency or whatever it was.

What's neat is that in the book the high rise gets attacked by Velociraptors. Eddie is knocked out and they tear him up. Still sucked because he was a great character in the book, too.
If you ask me it’s the saddest death in the series
Doesn't he raptor also die from the fall? It's been a while since I've read the book... all I remember was Dodgson's crew getting wiped out, Levine's guide being eaten, and the public at large still being unaware that InGen had made dinos... it's a shame they didn't follow the plot of the book, like, at all. The book was just so good!
It really was. It was interesting. The first book focused on surviving and getting the park back online. The second one focused on the way the dinosaurs behaved when untouched by man and how similar they were to current animals. And no, the raptor didn't die. Those things were straight up jumping up there and hitting the high rise.

Tcrpgfan, they're not advocating to save the dinosaurs, quite the opposite. The dinner scene in the first movie sums it up. The first couple movies are warning humans not to get cocky when it comes to science, and to think before we do things. JWFG is pros dinosaur tbough, and yeah it's stupid.
I agree
I disagree. I’ve watched these movies as a kid but complete forgotten about them, so I decided to rewatch them all and while doing so, this one annoyed me a lot. Too many people making stupid choices and lots of plot holes but everyone is entitled to their opinion. So no hate on anyone.
5:20-5:48. We now know what James may have sounded like during his Dinosaur phase as a child.
Kate V idk
Kate V how did you comment this 16 hours ago, it came out just now
Sasuke Gaming that’s what I’m thinking 🤔
Sasuke Gaming oh yea just now realized that

14:09 - Great moment, IKR? I've watched the whole Jurassic series a good few times by now, but I was literally happy to have forgotten this jumpscare, so I crapped my pants once again when the raptor peaked in XDD
Love when James explains things from 90s like we would have never heard of them before
The scene when Eddie tries to save them is so cool and the fact he saved them while sacrificing himself makes me cry every time he actually looked like the kind of guy to hide in a toilet leaving kids but no
Korean Baby Gaming I hate that they killed him. Especially in that way. Literally hurts the movie for me.
He went down as a hero😔😔😔
ravagedDust I know right although I know he was basically just there to die
Carr was actually a badass in the books. He deserved better in the movie, in my own opinion.
Anyone else re-binge watching *all* of Dead Meat's videos
No just me?
Well I'm almost there! These videos get better every time I watch them

The first film was definitely a masterpiece. Great dialogue, great story, great filmmaking. It posed really great moral questions and was a very fun watch. But the second movie is a very close second. I found there were many more dialogue lines i can remember long after viewing it. And the set pieces were generally larger. There was some bloat, but even as a kid I found it interesting to watch. The first two films are definitely the best.
I love how when something is old, like a Blockbuster store or camera film he explains what it is!
I don’t care what most people say about these movies I will always love Jurassic Park, and I mean the entire series, also here's a fun fact there still is one BlockBuster video that is open in the world located in Bend Oregon
Smiler Vlogs and Stuff Well I guess i'm moving to Oregon now.

fun fact: u changed ur pfp to this after beluga went popular af
Nick has so much blood on his hands for removing those bullets he’s the real villain here
one thing I love about this movie that was different from the first one and all the others from what I remember: the Raptors don't hesitate, the Raptors in the first one would occasionally do a classic movie rear up or villain hesitation to allow the hero to escape, I love that this movie changed that
Talking over each other is a typical Spielberg trope.
They do in JP1 when they first see the bull being fed to the raptors.
The script called for a scene where the Velociraptors got on board the Venture as it was about to set sail. As chaos ensued, the T-Rex also got loose, and killed everything else aboard. This explains why many of the crew members are dead in places the Rex cannot reach. The scene was never filmed.
Love the lion king 1 and a half reference of the dig a tunnel song
I'll literally never get tired of Jame's pronunciation of dinosaur!
9:16 I don’t have any first hand experience but I’ve heard a good amount of people will make jokes to alleviate stress in life threatening situations and I definitely think Ian Malcolm would be one of those people.
While I haven't experienced life threatening situations,
I too resort to humor as a coping mechanism during moments of stress.

This video only missed one thing: where the Japanese men ran in terror from the T-Rex.
He said I left Tokyo because of this or something on that line
Godzilla
It took me SO long to find a comment about this! Love this video, but really wish that scene had been mentioned. I cracked up laughing when I saw it in the theater...geez, I was 21 when it came out, how time flies...! 😅
For the crew on the ship I always thought that the Rex got out ate some people and went back to the cargo hold with some of his human snacks. One guy survived and tried to close the cargo hold, but the Rex grabbed and pulled everything but his arm into the cargo hold. His finger on the button closed it
I love the way they portrayed starks death
Literally shows him that size is a bonus and its about number that makes them deadly
That was the evil John Hammond's death adapted from the first book. You weren't doing THAT to kindly, naive movie Hammond as portrayed by old Sir Richard Attenborough, though...
The conversation at 2:29, while somewhat difficult to understand, felt so realistic to me. Ludlow reminds me of a parent explaining a simple fact to a child in a somewhat exasperated manner while his main focus is on something else while Malcolm's anger is obviously building as Ludlow is being dismissive towards him.
Personally I think that all the Ingen redshirts that ran into the tall grass were killed, but I can see why you only do confirmable kills.
17:17 "Accidentally foreshadowing Blockbuster's entire corporate future."

I’m not sure if anyone will see this but I just know how proud Chelsea would be and had to share. My nephew was watching this and talking about how cool it was that two of the actors in it were in something else together and I said “There’s two more in something else together that’s a really big deal. Vince Vaughn and Julianne Moore!” And my sister did her best James impression. 😂😂😂
I always preferred this movie over the first one as a kid and I think part of it is because of the sequence where the dude gets stepped on. That entire chase scene always held my attention more but the guy getting stepped on then flopping around like a ragdoll always cracked me up so I have fonder memories of this movie xD
