I can appreciate these much more on your truck rather than mine. You actually have a use for them and im sure there will be more footage to upload demonstrating that lol. They look better than some ive seen nice job
Question for ya? You’ve had both the cold air inductions intake and are running the s&b intake now, still…which do you recommend? I have a new Silverado trail boss, 2022 6.2 liter, the refresh model…overall, is one more noticeable with power gain and fuel efficiency or anything you had noticed and give a unbiased opinion….also I have the awe dual exhaust quad tips if that matters…
Random question but do you under coat your truck for the winter months?? Just bought the same truck as you and I live in Canada as well thinking of getting it done.
I just hooked up my Auxbeam pod lights just like you did, option 2. I left the relay in place, twisted the red & yellow wires together and hooked them to the + terminal in my 12 gang Auxbeam switch and the black to -. Once I put the inline fuse back in the lights came on without anything on or running and I can't turn them off. Where did I go wrong?
Sounds Like you wired up right to the live (always on +) connection. Don’t combine the yellow and red. One is for the relay to get power from the battery. The other is to be connected to one of the switches to signal the relay to let the power through
You mentioned that the black pods have both the spot light and flood light feature built in but on Auxbeam's page you have to select one or the other. Have they changed the pods? I also didn't see a way on your setup to toggle between the two settings.
You could as a trigger, yes. The lights would have to use their relay and grab power from the battery and just use your cargo circuit to tell the relay when to open and close
Hi Sir , Can you confirm me you only connect the black wire to the auxbeam panel ? You dont connect the white and yellow from the switch harness anywhere. And do you solder the black wire with a #16 wire to make a tight fit into the auxbeam panel instead of you small black wire . Thank you !
It all depends if you want to use relays that might have come with the lights. Otherwise you just connect the white to + and black to - on the auxbeam panel. You can combine both lights into one switch
Yes that what I want to do , use the existing relay and harness that came with the auxbeam pods . I connected the red wire that usually goes to the battery, in slot number 1 . But the pods aren’t working. I’ll connect the white and black wire into the same slot number 1 into the auxbeam panel . Correct ? Thank for your help !
I completed this install this weekend. Thanks so much for the details. There is one question I have and I can't figure it out. I hooked it up just like you did I also have an aux beam switch and left the relays on the pod lights (your Option 2) . I removed the incline fuse while doing the electrical and then installed it back in place. When I installed the fuse the lights turned on. The truck wasn't running, Auxbeam 8 gang was off, but the cube lights were powered on. I took the inline fuse out and the lights went off. With the fuse out everything now works as it should, lights turn on and off with the Auxbeam switch. did you not show this in the video? Is there a problem with not having the inline fuse installed, why did it turn on when its wired through the switch? I'm hooked up to the first fuse that's a 5 in the Auxbeam just like you did. Thanks,
I am not sure what is contributing to the issue. But to answer your question, the auxbeam has its own fuse for each switch location so you’re protected from that front.
@@Donslife Thanks so much for the response. I will just leave it out should be good as long as it's protected. Can't get enough of the videos. I have become good friends with the Fedex/UPS drivers lately. My wife thanks you for that ;).
@@DonslifeI have the same switch panel as you do from Auxbeam. Which cables for this setup can I ditch? The positive and mega motive are plugged into the positive and negative on the switch panel correct?
Have you come across anything in your mods/accessories including possible future purchases…. Anything that can bypass that 8 second camera timer while moving. I took my at4 off-roading and I was 1-2km above the speed requirement and it kept turning off. Extremely annoying. Should be enabled with no timer on off-road mode. In my opinion
Here is a video upgrading them to a different cube and adding some risers. I can easily turn them towards the ditch too. Upgrade Your Truck's Lighting: LED Pod DIY Guide th-cam.com/video/SChkEK-RlUE/w-d-xo.html
I like these! But, disappointed that you didn't take it out into the vast wasteland (only a short trip from Saskatoon...) turn EVERYTHING and I mean everything on and give us some drone shots. I bet you could see that sucker from space.

Another great video. Thank you and the camera person gets a lot of praise also. 👍🏼
Our pleasure! Thanks!
As always great video don. Always looking forward to the next one!
Just put pods on my 2017 Sierra love them
Man I appreciate this. I’ll eventually get it done on my Trail Boss. This’ll make it easy.
I wasn’t sure if I would like the look. Now I can’t imagine not having them 😂
@@Donslife I did my install today after the ice melted off. Waiting on dark to dial in now. Appreciate it
The bracket you mounted the lights to, you have a link for those?
Google Putco Luminix hood brackets

For a truck like that and the extra grunt, the S&B for sure. The CAI fits the personality of our Escalade 6.2 better. Both are excellent products
Thanks man! Really enjoy your videos, take care….
How many amps are the lights? Did you connect to the 5amp, 10amp or larger?
5amp. They are only 20watts each (40 total) so under 4 amps
@@Donslife Thank you sir thats where I went and wanted to make sure.
Another great informative video! Keep ‘em coming.
Thanks, will do!
How’s the view on the inside? Do they block view. Placement seems to far inside

I used to but the last couple trucks I haven’t. It can’t hurt but depending on how they do it, it can get messy underneath
@@Donslife as a fellow Canadian, I can't believe you don't do rust proofing! Do you wash your truck frequently?
Saw these today they look awsome !
I think they turned out alright

I meant you can buy a set that do one function or the other. Sorry if I didn’t make it clear.
@@Donslife No worries. I'm now on to your video with the Siberia cubes. Like those a lot better!

Thanks!

I wonder if I should put these on my car.... Probably not. Great video as always, Don!
Put them in your car!
Does this leave a glare in your vision while driving from the lights hitting the hood?
Not overly but it will depend on the way the beam projects from the pod-light.
Hey Don where can I purchase an Right OEM Tail light someone rear ended me what do you suggest instead of the dealership
Yes I have the 2021 GMC Sierra 5.3 I was inquiring about Right Tail light
🤔 I would try Ebay or something like that. I am sure someone salvaged some of a total write-off
I wonder if you could just use the cargo light button already on the truck
You could as a trigger, yes. The lights would have to use their relay and grab power from the battery and just use your cargo circuit to tell the relay when to open and close
Awesome video. Just a heads up, your link to the pod lights is wrong, also, no link to the brackets
Link fixed - thank you. Since it’s an install video for AuxBeam, I just left the bracket part number for Putco.com

Did you ever have a problem with the driver side wiper arm hitting the bracket?
I did with the auxbeam brackets and shaved them down a tiny bit. The new pods I installed with a spacer clear nicely
Thank you for the reply…..
Wonder if they would fit on a 22 canyon
Somebody may make brackets for it
